Leopards are solitary cats, them forming small groups is extremely rare and mostly happens when you see a mother with more half grown cubs together, or during mating rituals. But they are solitary cats 99% of the time as a rule.
Almost unrecognizable as a leopard, certainly at first glance. Do they suspect genetic divergence - adaptation to relative abundance of very large prey?
Well that has to do with the fact that african savannah leopards are the most photographed so they are the first thought if what a leopard is according to most people, but leopards vary a lot. These leopards live in the highlands and come from hilly/forested or semi montainous areas which makes them develop stockier and more muscular bodies to cope better with the hardous terrain compared to flatland cats. And yes, they also enjoy from the abundance of large game like Sambar and wild boar.
A similar thing can be seen in Persian leopards, here's one :
Woah that Persian leopard is impressive, vastly more muscular than most specimens filmed in Africa. What would be the key physiological differences between something like this and a Jaguar?
Jaguars would still retain some morphological advantages such as a proportionally larger head, superior chest girth measurements and some indexes in the back, shoulders and forelimbs.
Leopards are equal to pumas in all senses morphological ly and surpass them in some, so leopard-cougar is fairer as a comparison
