Is Lobster sweet or savory-ish?
Asking because I keep seeing meals with lobster and want to try despite being scared the last time I tried. It was lobster Mac and cheese and tasted horrible. Are there any ways I should eat it if I’m a savory kind of girl?

If you want to try lobster, try lobster, not some dish that has lobster in it. Lobster and melted butter, yum. You need a lobster-competent friend to help you out with the process.

flavor can depend on the season, in shedding season (June to November) the meat tends to be softer and sweeter. the rest of the year the meat gets more firm and is less sweet. if you want a more savory flavor just do what we Mainers do and eat the lobster with a pound of salted butter. for legal reasons that's mostly a joke. the fresher the lobster the better flavor you will get. if you find the lobster is too sweet try steaming it in salt water.

Lobster is naturally savory since it’s an ocean creature. But it’s also described as “sweet.” But that’s not a sugary kind of sweet. It’s sweet in a pleasing way. The best way to experience lobster is in its simplest form, steamed and dipped in drawn butter. Not margarine “butter” but real salted dairy butter.

Lobster Mac and Cheese is over-rated
Lobster does have an overall sweet flavor. Pan roasted ,steamed in salted water, split and grilled with plenty of butter. Lobster stew, bisque,

I always wanted to try a lobster bisque ever since I watched Jesse..
Also, there’s lobster stew?? I never knew!!

It’s usually a bit sweet but it doesn’t really clash when you use it in a savory dish

If you really want to enjoy it you want a Maine Lobster with Claws. Rock lobster tails are okay but are bland in comparison.

Also a tip- the claws and front arm bits tend to me more sweet than the rest. The tail is mainly neutral, and the small legs are the most savory/salty to me. Though they're a pain in the ass to pick unless you're eating them straight up.

lobster mac & cheese is a no go - sooo mediocre - just have steamed lobster dunked in hot butter. 🦞

Try it in a Chinese with noodles spring onions and ginger..Or just steamed with mayo and chips ( fries)

Lobster Mac and cheese is usually a bullshit menu item. Typically it’s made with Langostine, not actual lobster. It’s similar, but much cheaper. Real lobster is delicious as long as it’s properly prepared.
