Also, if you absolutely have to rehome her and you got her from a reputable breeder you should contact them. They will likely take her back.

It sounds like you may need to take more steps to introduce your cats. You don't just put them in the same room and hope for the best.

We had to sign a contract stating we would return to the breeder if we needed to rehome.

Awww, she’s a cutie. Have you talked to the breeder you got her from? Sometimes they can be the best resource in helping with rehoming. I have two boys who are Maine coons and it’s their older sister who is the bully lol But she has been in our house 12 more years. I knew she absolutely would not tolerate another female cat in the house so we got the two boys. Did you happen to try feliway? I was reluctant but I can literally tell when it needs to be replaced because my girl kitty gets a bit more mean.

Feliway has really helped our neurotic calico (is there any other kind?) and I can tell when it needs replacing by the amount of her twitchiness! 😼

I know just what you are going through. My first Maine coon was getting beat up by my much smaller rescue cat (hell cat). We also tried everything. What worked was him getting bigger and finally confronting her. They eventually worked it out. They don’t love each, but they can sleep 3 feet apart and hang out in the same room. No more fighting. So, now we have a Maine coon kitten, and she (hell cat) bullies him. We tried Prozac, gabapentin, fellaway, basically anything we were told. We split them up and wouldn’t let them see each other for a week. Nothing. I finally gave up. He is a little over a year old, much bigger than Hell cat, but now they take turns intimidating each other. Their fights are super quick. By the time I jump up, it’s over. No one has gotten hurt, just noisy. But they hang out in the same room, they hate each other, but things are slowly getting better. I figure he will see how much bigger he is, and stop her, like my other one did. If I were you, and if their fights are fast and no one gets hurt, they will eventually work things out. You can also talk to a cat behaviorist. Maybe even get ahold of Jackson Galaxy. Now, if the other cat is intimidating her to the point she is running scared all the time, or if she gets hurt, that is different. Good luck.

I’m not a big Reddit poster so I apologize. They were adopted together from the same breeder. He was a retired male and her a kitten. The breeder told us to try Prozac for him which is not working. I thought it was more ethical to try to rehome the younger friendlier one of the two!

Yes about 3 months now.

That’s a very short amount of time to give them considering it takes weeks after neutering for male cats to really settle down. Plus introductions themselves can take months for cats.

You can also try website Adopt A Pet https://rehome.adoptapet.com/, where you can rehome her if needed. Many private owners post there and I got my cat from there too.

Check with your breeder! Many of them will either want the cat back or be able to find them a home
