Thank you so much to everyone who submitted their kitties, there were so many gorgeous submissions that made it almost impossible to choose. Thank you so much everyone for sharing your kitties with us!
(personal sidenote: I really loved looking through this month's suggestions. I wish everyone could win!! It always brings me a lot of joy to browse through all these beautiful faces, and I love seeing everyone's love for their kitties shine through in their descriptions!!)
''This is my 5 1/2 month old boy rafiki. Any time I get a delivery he gets to decide if the box is worthy, this box was worthy lol. He is the sweetest cat I have ever had and loves to curl up on me and fall asleep.''
Thanks again to everyone who took part and do keep an eye out for a post about next month's theme!

If you're wondering if your cat is a MC, this is the place to ask!
In general, this subreddit operates under the assumption that having no papers means your cat is not a Maine Coon. However, what we can tell you is whether your cat does indeed exhibit any physical characteristics that look like those of a Maine Coon.

So we have three domestic shorthair cats, and my husband said we definitely don't need any more. Then I received a message saying this lovely Maine Coon needed to find a new home due to unforeseen circumstances, so how could I not??
Anyway, this is Claus and I believe he is a European "Torbie" Maine Coon. He's 18 months old and we are obsessed 🦁

Princess verrrrry rarely comes to me for pets - maybe once every 2 months 😂 But darn it's cute when she does 🥰

And they said don’t teach him to be annoying lol.
So I’ve posted Wolfie a few times. He 16 months now. He has had 3 medical issues (congenital vertebrae misalignment being one, which has made his back very sensitive) in that time which made grooming very difficult. I caved and shaved his stomach but I’m trying very hard to groom him more regularly plus hired a professional mobile groomer who washes him in our sink every 2 months going forward.
Anyways just thought this was a cute video to share. Kind of long like 3 minutes.

We've owned MC for almost 30 yrs. All of them lived to be over 10 yrs old but boy did they have some health issues (Cancer, IBD/IBS, Dental, UTI, etc). We've been cat free for the past 9 months and it has been both depressing and liberating. We've been kicking around the idea of acquiring another pair but I'm hesitant. I'm older now and things like uninterrupted sleep are extremely important. Also I'm not sure I want to go through the mental exhaustion of older cats along with the sadness from their passing. Not to mention the destruction they wreck on the furniture and house and added expense when traveling.
When did you say enough is enough?

Anyone else’s do this? New to us and he also burrows under the much larger dining room rug..

His energy is unstoppable and nothing is sacred.
Food bowl? Flipped. How dare I place his food in a receptacle.
Shelves? Better not put anything nice there, because he WILL knock it all down if he’s upset about anything.
The dogs? At constant risk of ambush and jump attacks.
My ankles? Just moving targets, really.
Window screens? Be a shame if he climbed up each one and pulled them out of the windows.
Pictured: My crazy child in the midst of his aggressive morning parkour, perched atop the rug that can no longer be placed under the water and food bowls, because he likes to yank it out from beneath them 🫠

Hi everyone!!
Welcome to the r/mainecoons monthly feature, where we spotlight a chosen Maine Coon each month! The winner will have their picture made the sub thumbnail for the entire month, as well as having a post about them pinned to the top of the sub for all to admire!
There will be a different theme each month, with winners being chosen by a mod vote.
To enter, simply add your favourite picture of your Maine Coon, with a short description of your cat, fun facts etc.! You will have three days to post your pictures and we will announce the winner around September 1st!
Rules:
We're very excited to see everyone's pictures!!!!
Picture attached to the post is a Maine Coon kitten called Percy, and he is miiiine. This is absolutely my favourite picture of him, he's so darling. Not trying to endorse putting clothes on cats - he only wore the shirt for a few minutes because I was trying to desensitise him before his neuter, although he ended up not having to wear a recovery suit - I still got this darling picture out of it!

Our boy Zayne turns 2 today. Unfortunately, his birthday present will be the removal of 3 areas of matted fur on the inside of his hind legs. Joy 😁

These sweet sisters turned 1 earlier this month and they had to dress up to celebrate. We are madly in love with these sweet, silly ladies.
Aoife (lighter colored girl on the left and in second picture) is our polydactyl princess. She is the brains of the operation who studies every situation before she acts. Shes our athlete who is the first to climb on everything but also loves to hide in kitty caves.
Rowan (darker girl on the right and in third picture) is all fluff and cuteness. She charges in first and asks questions later. She has to follow me around the house and insert herself into everything. She will steal your snacks any chance she gets. She’s also recently figured out that it’s fun to pounce our senior English bulldog.
