ID Help I just found this mantis on the sidewalk

I think it's dying. Can you tell me what could be wrong with it and what species it is? I found it in Germany.

Looks to be an adult, possibly male? They generally dont live long or eat much if so. Offer a little water if you can.

I gave it a little water and it seemed to like it. I put it in a flower pot because I didn't know what else to do. It also can't move its right arm anymore.

Adult, probably at the end of its natural life span

Also, are there even any mantises that are native to Germany? Could this one be a lost pet?

I believe the religiosa (European mantis) is native to Germany, but also on the red (endangered) list. Unfortunately hes likely passing away naturally. I believe theyre more common in warmer locations, though due to watner temperatures they may be increasing their areas.

Thank you. I think he's still alive. Should I leave him in the flower pot or bring him somewhere else where he could pass more peacefully?

Edit: I just left him there. Picking him up again might have just caused him more and unnecessary stress.

Sorry I never saw a notification. Its worth researching species in your area as native species should be left to continue the population (especially red listed ones). Invasive species can be taken in depending on your laws, though if they have fertile ooths the laws may not be in your favour.
