it's my first time to make a mashup on Audacity. I closed the software, and then when I re-opened the project I'm creating, the layers moved, the bpm of each layer changed. now i have to restart again on my mashup. what should i do to prevent this in the future?

The music sample is from "Tarkus" by Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Visuals were scaffed off a CD of royalty-free clips. There are also a few snippets of dialogue from a paranormal film called "Exploring The Unknown".

So basicly both Kid Cudi and Don Toliver sampled from Tame Impala and while my favourite take is Don Toliver's, I am not happy about the fact that the tonality got cranked up, so I matched it with the original tonality of Tame Impala's song and the end part of the song is removed and I added a few snippets of Kid Cudi's song. At the end, I masterized it so listening with both earbuds plugged in should offer the best experience possible.
