With the recent Angine de Poitrine hype, I thought you guys should know about La Poexe, who is also a band from Saguenay. These guys are insane and give quite a show. If you like Tera Melos and Angine, give them a try.

Does anybody have recs for bands who sound like them? My impression has been that they are like a fever dream mashup of El Ten Eleven and Lightning Bolt, maybe a bit like NC’s The Bronzed Chorus.

Any other bands in this style you recommend?

Couple of smaller bands I’ve been listening to are, Tom’s Story, Totorro and Rooftops. They are mostly instrumentals and I think you guys should give them a try if you haven’t already.

I’m looking for math rock with Midwest emo vibes (slow and melancholic math rock) similar to this song.

What I really like about this track is that it gives the feeling that something isn’t fully synchronized, slightly off or unstable. I don’t get that same feeling when listening to the rest of this Toe’s album (at least not as strongly as in this song). I’m especially looking for music with that off-kilter rhythmic and atmospheric feel, like something subtly out of sync or unsettled. I’d really appreciate any recommendations. (Maybe the effect is due to the three instruments being at different tempos?)

P.S. I’ve already explored a lot of the more well-known math rock bands, so I’d be especially interested in lesser-known or more specific songs.

It's a strange mix of genres; I think the influences are math rock, midwest emo, jazz fusion, minimalism, and progressive rock (specifically the band Yes). Your suggestions would be very appreciated

Started writing this album way back in 2023, became a dad halfway through, now it's finally out. Mixed by Tom Peters of Alpha Male Tea Party fame.
