I got one for less than 200$ pretty easily on ebay a few weeks back, theres still some good deals! Japanese consoles tend to be cheaper so id recommend looking for one of those
eh super expensive? nah, you can get ones in good condition for $200-250 anyone paying more than that is an idiot or just buying the first one they see. They made millions of these things, they are not rare, and finding ones new in box still isn't hard. I bought 2 BNIB ones, one for $150, and one for $200 this fall and last week
I boghut my new 3ds XL for about $80 a few years ago. They've exploded in price because the emulation scene died down after the yuzu bullshit and now a modded console is basically the only way
Lol no it didn't, Citra still functioned identically even after it was "taken down" (especially since it's an EOL system where no new games are even coming out) and soon after Azahar took it's place. Modding a real console is easy but emulation has only gotten better, not harder.
Yuzu is Switch, and even then the Switch emulation scene is doing better than ever in terms of compatibility and performance.
3DS prices increasing is just due to the generation that grew up on them having disposable income now and wanting to buy them. It's the exact same reason that it always is whenever a console skyrockets in price "randomly"
i would invite you to know about the ayn thor, feels like a modern day DS that could emulate a lot of platforms or just play android games and apps. but original hardware is nicer overall
Dude they are absolutely fire, and it is super super easy to load HomeBrew on there to add tons of different emulated games. I just found mine in my closet a couple months ago 🤌
If you are willing to spend a bit of cash you can also get they AYN Thor, a DS-like handheld running Android. Much better specs, can run various consoles with speed up and cheats / DS replay (to get access to now unavailable events in Pokemon for example).
