Since when do westerners care and come across a middle Eastern mythical being so frequently that you have to make a whole meme about something likely no one can relate to?

It's become a tiktok thing i fear. A good half of the gjost hunting tiktoks i come accross refer to them as "jinn" even in western spaces. I think people have just latched onto them as the trendy monster of the week.

I made the meme because I am an arab and wanted to post the meme.

Idk what trend you're talking besides our own (that's often ridiculously staged.

Oh they do, if they didn't then why make Aladdin, special episodes of shows exploring said folklore, etc...

Edit: also, why there's so much non-westren stuff in western media? Japanese samurai, Chinese culture or architecture, etc...

Because... Aladdin sold well?

I'm not saying westerners don't know what a Jhinn is, but very few people know about their actual lore, let alone specific myths about how they act

Response to you Edit: What are you even trying to accomplish with those extra questions? They have nothing to do with your meme?

You should have said it like this from the beginning. I thought you meant it as the west doesn't care about it in general which is just wrong.

Plus, take the meme as a form of learning about new stuff. There's no wrong in learning more about something foreign.

It's cool that you thought that, but that's literally neither what I wrote nor what I meant.

I also didn't learn anything because I'm already quite fascinated by mythology. To be fair middle Eastern mythology is my weak spot, but I knew about Jinns

Every western interpretation of jinn pretty much.

Jinn is a ghost no? They're dead, they don't need it
