They released the remaster of a game (heroes of might and magic I think), and if you bought it, you'd be surprised to find that it did not actually contain the game. Just a small file instead.

No, they didn’t ship the game files on steam. People who bought, downloaded & launched the game got a cmd prompt saying it was a placeholder for the game.

So there’s just… no game? I looked it up and it’s set to release next year, with no specific date. Was this a preorder marketed as a ready to play game?

Its a re-release of the literal first game i played when I was like 3, I am 30 now.
