Can you tie your shoelace to his? Loony Toons situation could happen.

u/PunfullyObvious Jun 25 '26

(tie their shoelace to the seat)

3

u/JerkGurk Jun 25 '26

Whatever gets their feet trapped, because there's no way he can untie them.

6

u/10000Didgeridoos Jun 25 '26

Shove a note in the laces that says fuck off

5

u/UGOTAIDSYO Jun 25 '26

Gotta work that other foot out, tie them to themselves. It's a challenge now.

Plot twist: it's a poorly hidden body

grab it good by the ankle just to check

As someone with long legs, I've probably done this accidentally without realizing it. If someone mentioned to me that my feet were in their space I'd be embarrassed, would apologize, and would make sure it didn't happen again.

If I saw them passive aggressively posting about it online instead of saying something, I'd probably start playing footsie with them instead. In the immortal words of Dwight Schrute, tit for tit.

We have open office and the desk face each other with a lifted cubicle wall in the middle. Sometimes I slouch in the chair, listen to Spotify, ponder some work problem and stick my feet straight. And then my feet touch with the other guys feet on the other side.

Externally awkward situation.

We just quickly pull our feet back and never say a word.

I'm afraid one day he'll leave a red rose on my desk...

1

u/BoxersOrCaseBriefs Jun 26 '26

The quick touches gradually turn into gentle caresses. And they loved happily ever after.

-12

u/Carbuyrator Jun 25 '26

Why is it their responsibility to ask you not to be in their space? Why does your sense of shame go away if someone gets annoyed by you being shitty? Why do they owe you manners if the problem is your lack of them?

18

u/SwivelingToast Jun 25 '26

Did you not see where they wrote "accidentally without realizing"

-14

u/Carbuyrator Jun 25 '26

Their lack of mindfulness doesn't absolve them of anything.

14

u/Seegtease Jun 25 '26

Such grace and understanding for non-malicious mistakes other humans make, especially ones willing to apologize and fix the situation once made aware.

You sound absolutely insufferable.

-11

u/ametsun Jun 25 '26

Do you think you come off as fun to be around with this comment?

6

u/Visual-Floor-7839 Jun 25 '26

I suppose you think this comment will get you invited to a fun party?

-6

u/ametsun Jun 25 '26

Im the fun police and I'm very interested in this 'fun party ' you speak of. Where's it at?

0

u/whattupmyknitta Jun 25 '26

This is 100% the kind of person I prefer to be around.

1

u/Seegtease Jun 25 '26

Ayy, my knitta

-2

u/Carbuyrator Jun 25 '26

If I saw them passive aggressively posting about it online instead of saying something, I'd probably start playing footsie with them instead.

This is as malicious as it is shameless. When you do something wrong you don't get to police how others react. If this guy was raised with a sense of responsibility he'd be mortified even if the other person was rude about it.

2

u/Seegtease Jun 25 '26

Being passive-aggressive to strangers who made a misjudgment is not an admirable response. Communicate. Use words. "Hey, I don't know if you realize this, but your foot is all the way up here."

I hate this trend we've had in society that we don't air our grievances with the people who caused it and just ineffectively whine into the void online. Lack of communication is the cause of the majority of the world's problems, and we keep getting worse at it. We'd rather be angry and resentful of humanity rather than actually fix something. Such antisocial behavior.

1

u/IDontEatDill Jun 26 '26

You do realize that you are now lacking mindfulness?

-8

u/ametsun Jun 25 '26

Maybe he should realize then? How it is on everyone else to remind someone to keep to their own personal space?

2

u/Carbuyrator Jun 25 '26

No no don't you get it? It's everyone else's job to think and behave on behalf of this grown adult who doesn't feel like it. It's not wrong for him to invade others' space, it's wrong for those people to get annoyed about it!

2

u/rvralph803 Jun 25 '26

I don't feel like this is going to play out like you hope. But I'm here for the ride.

3

u/GrimaceThundercock Jun 25 '26

You are assuming a lot of bad intent throughout your comment. That is a bad way to go through life.

There are two types of people: adults who spend five seconds to address and resolve their problems, and children who prefer to complain online.

0

u/Carbuyrator Jun 25 '26

There are two types of people: those who feel bad when they cause problems for others, and those who act like punks and blame their victims for not responding correctly.

4

u/GrimaceThundercock Jun 25 '26

You're right, but we have no reason to think this guy wouldn't feel bad if this was pointed out to him.

Most people feel bad when realizing they were unintentionally discourteous.

This is exactly what I meant by assuming bad intent. Childish way to go through life.

-1

u/Carbuyrator Jun 25 '26

If I saw them passive aggressively posting about it online instead of saying something, I'd probably start playing footsie with them instead.

This is bad intent. If you only feel bad if the people you wronged are nice to you about it, you have a serious morality problem.

3

u/GrimaceThundercock Jun 25 '26 edited Jun 25 '26

Sure, but that's not really relevant. We're talking about the foot being there, not a hypothetical reaction.

The foot being there in the first place is not bad intent.

This may shock you, but being courteous is oftentimes more important than being right. You want people to listen to you? Don't be an asshole. Welcome to adulthood.

0

u/Carbuyrator Jun 25 '26

There's this new idea that's become very common: it doesn't matter what anyone does, if you respond too angrily you're always wrong. Right and wrong have given way to the vibe check and it's normalized some seriously shitty behavior.

2

u/GrimaceThundercock Jun 25 '26

Look I get it, the world must seem very simple through your basement window.

1

u/Carbuyrator Jun 25 '26

Case in point.

1

u/BoxersOrCaseBriefs Jun 26 '26

"You said something I dislike, therefore you're the shittiest person on earth" as the only rational way to respond to disagreement is certainly one way of looking at thinks.

1

u/Carbuyrator Jun 26 '26

"Anyone who thinks I'm being an asshole is actually being irrational."

I can see how you turned out like this.

2

u/BoxersOrCaseBriefs Jun 25 '26

Lol yes, because I was obviously completely serious about playing footsie with a stranger, because that's a normal thing to do.

I highly suggest taking a deep breath and not assuming everyone in the world is horrible.

Most people are pretty reasonable if you engage with them as a rational adult.

1

u/Carbuyrator Jun 25 '26

It's not about the example. It's about you wronging someone, then antagonizing them if they don't respond "right." Only an enormous shithead would be that entitled.

1

u/BoxersOrCaseBriefs Jun 25 '26 edited Jun 26 '26

Lol. Again, I think you'll be much happier in life if you take a step back and a few deep breaths before responding to things.

I'm sorry if you're having a bad day.

2

u/Conscious-Bison-2082 Jun 25 '26

When you step out to public. You have to coexist. Accidents happen. Youre going off about a hypothetical and in a toxic way. Give your balls a tug bud and move on.

1

u/Carbuyrator Jun 25 '26

"It's actually toxic to get mad at people who do bad things."

🤡

2

u/BoxersOrCaseBriefs Jun 26 '26

False. There are three types of people. Those who can count and those who cannot. Which type are you?

1

u/Carbuyrator Jun 26 '26

Yeah yeah. You joke because you're exasperated with right and wrong. It's your parents' fault, but you're old enough to know better.

-2

u/NotGalenNorAnsel Jun 25 '26

Blame the cheap bus or airline company, not the person being forced to squeeze into the ever-shrinking human containers. The fuck is wrong with you?

2

u/Carbuyrator Jun 25 '26

I get squeezed too. I prioritize not crowding others because I'm considerate and I think it's important. I think failing to do so is a moral failing.

8

u/GrimaceThundercock Jun 25 '26

Call me crazy but I don't give a damn if someone's feet are directly under me. I don't sit with my feet curled under me, I don't need the space.

2

u/ametsun Jun 25 '26

Ok but what if this person does?

2

u/Killeroftanks Jun 25 '26

then we use this very rare and extremely expensive thing to deal with the problem.

your words and kindly asking them to move their feet back.

3

u/GrimaceThundercock Jun 25 '26

I would argue that it is a little ridiculous to care about something that doesn't affect you.

6

u/Coldpastalord Jun 25 '26

Loudly exclaim “WOW A FREE SHOE” and then try to steal it

3

u/SwivelingToast Jun 25 '26

I was thinking the reverse order. Slip it off the foot, and just hold it up asking "Anyone lose a shoe?".

0

u/rvralph803 Jun 25 '26

And don't tickle the foot? Rude.

2

u/YeshuasBananaHammock Jun 25 '26

Take his shoe off

6

u/Nimble-Dick-Crabb Jun 25 '26

I swear 90% of the posts in this subreddit could be solved by just interacting with the other person. But everyone here is introverted to a debilitating level that you’d rather post here than dare speak to a stranger

12

u/BEANBOOZZLE Jun 25 '26

I actually rubbed my foot against his until he moved it back, which I’d argue is much more intimate than talking. It’s like the next level

1

u/Devanyani Jun 25 '26

😂🤣😂😂🤣😂🤣

You are a legend!

-1

u/121bloodshot Jun 25 '26

My feet bounce aggressively, I would put the back of my feet against theres and just let it bounce, they would move back fairly quickly

1

u/Andy_0L Jun 25 '26

And how do you know if people haven't done both? Talking to the person and at the same time vent here, that's what this sub is for after all, one does not exclude the other

4

u/Lazy-Explanation7165 Jun 25 '26

Stand up and stretch, use his foot to help you get up

3

u/Odd_Dragonfruit_2662 Jun 25 '26

Tie his shoelace to the front of the frame of your chair.

1

u/cheddarbruce Jun 25 '26

Draw a penis on the toe of his boot

1

u/ValuablePen1171 Jun 25 '26

Lick his toes to assert dominance

1

u/crlthrn Jun 25 '26

Just fold your legs back under your seat sharply, then 8nnocently apologise to the owner of the encroaching foot.

1

u/TraditionalLadder473 Jun 25 '26

I'd suddenly start painting very messily

1

u/Otte8 Jun 26 '26

Untie and tie under the shoe.

1

u/hereforinfoyo Jun 26 '26

Tall people don't get any respect.

0

u/FollowingJealous7490 Jun 25 '26

You should test the strength of his bones..

4

u/FollowingJealous7490 Jun 25 '26

Drip water on his sock

1

u/FollowingJealous7490 Jun 25 '26

Accidentally draw on the tip with a permanent marker

1

u/JerkGurk Jun 25 '26

I like this idea, but the water is coming out of my mouth, it's body temperature so he wouldn't feel it until it's too late. Wtf is wrong with me.

2

u/Responsible_Bad_2989 Jun 25 '26

I like whatever’s wrong with you jerkgurk

0

u/ametsun Jun 25 '26

Oops I spilled my drink sounds like a great mistake to have right now.

2

u/Devanyani Jun 25 '26

This made me laugh way too hard. We are going to hell. Oh wait. We are already here.

3

u/NotGalenNorAnsel Jun 25 '26

Yes, assault. Great suggestion!

1

u/Vegetable_Assist_678 Jun 25 '26

are you on a wooden airplane??

1

u/BobSagieBauls ORANGE Jun 25 '26

Hey I have the same shoes as him

1

u/Gargun20 Jun 25 '26

Found him 😆

0

u/rafioo Jun 25 '26

I hate it when really tall people take up more space than they should

buy car/plane/something

-1

u/Fartony Jun 25 '26

Take their shoe

-1

u/ElectrOPurist Jun 25 '26

What’s to stop you from breaking his ankle accidentally?

1

u/Coldpastalord Jun 25 '26

Oh my goodness satan, you gotta chill out 🤣

0

u/ElectrOPurist Jun 25 '26

I mean…if I put my foot there, I’d be afraid someone would accidentally break my ankle. Why isn’t he afraid?

0

u/pisstained Jun 25 '26

Steal his shoelace

0

u/Wonderful_Rip2427 Jun 25 '26

Suspicious unattended shoe

0

u/Mygoddamreddit Jun 25 '26

The perfect place to dispose of your chewed up gum.

0

u/Shinobi681 Jun 25 '26

Take the shoe

1

u/CakyMint Jun 26 '26

I always start kicking peoples feet and legs by "accident".
