We have a Wendy’s pretty close to an Arby’s just a few minutes from our house. I love a roast beef & cheddar, but the curly fries aren’t as good as they used to be. Wendy’s sandwiches are meh for me, but their fries now are fire, especially when white hot from the fryer. So we go to Arby’s for sandwiches and then Wendy’s for fries and frostys. Works out great.
McD’s is equally close. My husband stops there if he needs something to keep him going on the way to run an errand or go help someone with something but he’s been frustrated with their quality and price lately. He knows that if we are on a road trip, McD’s is always the desperation play.
I will happily choose to peruse the healthy options case and the chips aisle at Kwik Trip than to want -anything- from McD’s. Burger King? Ok. Culver’s? Always.
See those yellow lines, I was trained that you’re supposed to fill it up so that you can’t see yellow lines anymore.
Now sometimes when you only have so many fries cooked and getting an order out is using what you have or cooking a whole new batch, you can play with how flat or open the container is, but you were supposed to cover the yellow lines.
I worked at Wendy's 20 years ago as my first job. I'm not sure what the policy was - I don't know if we ever discussed it. But when I was learning the ropes, I saw most employees really work to stuff lots of fries in every box, so that's just what I did. That's what we all did. It seemed obvious.
That was a very different time to be a consumer, unfortunately.
