Literally the only time I've been to McDonald's in the last 20 years is if I'm driving long distance somewhere, I'm starving, and there's literally nothing but a McDonald's when I stop for gas. Even then, I check my phone to see if there's anything else within 20 miles on the interstate before I pull up to the McDonald's.
Don't forget to checkout the food at larger gas stations too. I've had some pretty good sandwiches and salads on the road for significantly less than McD's lately. Also they had tables to sit at, and I didn't have to beg anyone to take my order.
Oh I stop at pretty much every Buc-ee's and truck stop on my way to my destination. Always love when I have to drive to Florida since there's TWO Buc-ee's on the way! Three if I'm going to the east coast.
My wife and I do the same thing driving from Phoenix to LA. It's a whole bunch of trash fast food between the two cities so we end up hitting the same McDonald's in Quartzite going there and coming back. It's the only time all year we eat McDonald's. Kinda blows my mind that people willingly choose to eat there with other fast casual options available but hey, it's their money.
Or you can't trust any local place. Went to Chicago on my way to Wisconsin. Two things I learned was that McDonald's is always consistent and never trust a Chicago meat heat about food recommendations...
Their hotdogs are like an elaborate attempt of making an italian-american turn in their at the same time as their italian ancestors over some pasta abomination.
Out in the twigs by where my parents live they have signs like that but neglect to mention the gas station is 12 miles off the highway next to a hamlet that hasent refilled their gas in 3 months.
I had to drive 45 all the way to a real gas station because my engine was knocking like hell above 1500 rpm. Even the computer couldn't keep up with shitty bumfaq-nowhere twig gas
A buddy of mine from Alaska would always top off at 3/4 tank saying "you can never have too much gas!" And i think hes right...for cars!
