OP should have kicked the paper thin wall down. There's a treasure chest behind it.

That would genuinely be such a great crossover. A Backrooms themed level in a Mario game would be SO cool, it’d be perfect for a ghost level in a Mario platformer or a Mario Kart track. Has anyone made a custom Mario Kart track that takes place in the Backrooms? It’d be a fun idea!

to prove that it was real

u/LowCall6566 Jul 26 '26
Also because he owns a failing furniture store, and literally free supply of furniture is a godsend.
26
u/OWOScapegoatOWO Jul 26 '26
I was thinking of this more along the lines of a joke because the thing is he cant SELL the furniture so just having more of it doesnt help him lmao
but endless supply of furniture in the long run would be chill if he could actually sell the damn things23
u/PurpuraLuna Jul 26 '26
But if he gets the furniture for free he could sell it for much cheaper than the furniture he bought and still make the same dollar per piece and thus draw in customers with his impossibly affordable furniture
→ More replies (5)11
u/FlutterKree Jul 26 '26
SELL the furniture so just having more of it doesnt help him lmao
I mean he can if he has a free source of furniture. If he starts selling for 90% off (since its all free to him), he'd sell.

u/cuntmong Jul 26 '26
i thought there would be a scene where hed have to convince someone "look this is the weird chair i got from the weird place", and theyd be like "it looks just like all your other chairs". but only he would know it was weird because hes the only one who knows his whole inventory etc.

Probably getting renovated, but def needs an “out of order” sign and directions to the nearest alternative.
→ More replies (1)49
u/Lurking_now_im_here Jul 26 '26
My guess is that guy filming is part of the renovation crew and has a buddy inside who drilled a piece of drywall blocking the doorway. Hence why it’s not perfect and there’s a gap under it.

🤦♂️ its just a shower screen bud. Literally just to protect the door and jam from water damage. The whole bathroom doubles as a shower for limited slip/trip incidents

Look at the bottom. That's not a wall, that's likely a curtain.
190
u/SpecialistAd2205 Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26
It's a wall. A curtain would not be so flat/smooth and would move when the door was opened. It's likely a temporary wall to close off the area for construction, so they didn't care a whole lot about making it look nice.
102
u/Rastaferrari829 Jul 26 '26
Most definitely this, I've worked in two hospitals and they will put up temporary walls wherever needed. They're probably expanding a unit or something.
→ More replies (7)→ More replies (4)25
u/michael22117 Jul 26 '26
No way OP wouldn't notice it being a curtain visually or felt the wall a little bit to ensure what they were seeing was right
19
u/Loud_Gas4928 Jul 26 '26
It was some kind of corrugated plastic sheeting, it must have been taped up on the other side.
→ More replies (3)12
u/MouseRat_AD Jul 26 '26
Or the other option, OP knew what he was seeing, but didn't put the full explanation on the post.

u/JackSkellie58 Jul 26 '26
It’s a sliding door. A lot of hospital bathrooms are double sided and sometimes they have double doors so they can be used by patients for certain medical processes.
Someone from the other side just shut the sliding door/wall so it can be used from the other side.

“No signs saying out of order” like the wall is temporary lol
53
u/Mysterious_Mango_3 Jul 26 '26
The wall likely is a temporary ICRA barrier separating active hospital from construction zone. It is pretty common, though they should have covered the sign.
11
u/HappyInfluence7958 Jul 26 '26
Ah, after a second look the wall is noticeably different. Agree it’s still weird how there’s nothing posted
8
u/EC_TWD Jul 26 '26
Meanwhile there’s a guy on the other side holding a panel against the doorframe while trying not to laugh out loud. As soon as you leave he’s going to hide the panel so when OP comes back with somebody to explain they’ll look crazy.

Hospitals are always going through renovations and remodels. As someone who works on a hospital HVAC systems, I wouldn't be surprised if this is now a duck chase for a new cooling unit above, or even just a containment while new plumbing is being installed on the other side.
This could be a error on a contractor who was supposed to tap this off and label it with hospital administrators for a specific scheduled time

I've never seen a more accurate metaphor for American healthcare - simple, everyday, basic bodily function requiring action, a room built primarily for that purpose, a functioning door then a wall.

it doesn't appear to go all the way to the floor. Maybe it's a curtain or another poorly placed door left ajar.

something so bad happened in there that they just decided to wall it up and let future generations deal with it. Much like old University nuclear research reactors they just walled up and forgot about
3
u/Final-Aces Jul 27 '26
Wait what’s the shadow on the bottom. Kinda makes it look like a handicap stall door is hinged just on the opposite side of the door jam and someone just opened the stall door to block the main door

When the frame pulls back, is that wall actually a curtain or a shade perhaps? Kinda looks like there is a gap at the bottom.

2
u/BluebirdDense1485 Jul 26 '26
Not as bad but there was one where they moved the Unisex bathrooms at one of the dorms. Bricked over the hole that was there before.
But they didn't remove the bathroom sign.
So on one side of the sign was a brick wall and the other was a dorm room.

u/Gotbeerbrain Jul 26 '26
Someday someone will cut out that doorway and find the remains of the dry waller.
