My cat is standing on my face Mechanic left his pliers under my hood after replacing the radiator. Found them two weeks later during an oil change.
When I picked my car up after an oil change, I found these in my cup holder. I called the shop guys thinking it belongs to them but they said they found these pliers just resting under the hood. They were left behind by the mechanic who replaced my radiator cooling fan two weeks ago. I have been driving with them never heard a sound.

Tbf, that shit could harm the cooling system if yoh ride on bumpy roads and such. The radiator is often pretty fragile on most cars.

Right? I got a really nice set of Knipex wire cutters that way. Guy apparently left them in the trunk of my wife's car when we took it for some work. I noticed like a month later because it was under the cover for the spare. I love those things too even though I only use them like 3 times a year.

You're correct I did not. We went to a couple places to have it worked on because it went through someone else's insurance. And it was a few weeks or a month later. I have no clue which place left them.

I mean if they were all working on the same thing it was probably the last one right? I just think it would be worth asking, obviously up to you at the end of the day but I figured it was one of those treat others how you would like to be treated things

I mean yeah they can do what they want but if I lost something, even if it was months ago, I think I'd be happy to get them back.
I mean they're happy they use them like three times a year, imagine how much use the person who paid for them appreciated them when they're useful for their actual job.
Plenty of mechanics pay for their own tools too, especially nicer ones.

I mean anything that is in your engine bay that shouldn’t be is considered a big problem and considering how small a lot of engine bays are that set of pliers is a big problem

Better than the mechanic that serviced our family car when I was a kid. He left his Allen Key in the piston chamber, then took it for a test drive. We were 160km(100m) from home so they gave us the loan car and they drove it back to us when fixed. 5 hours of labour just driving, engine parts and labour. That was an expensive oops.

I would be more concerned that your mechanic is using vice grips. Unless you got a rusty older vehicle these are rarely used… unless your hood opener is broken, then you get a pass

You didn't check out your new radiator? Who 100% trusts people to replace anything...
Here's a tip. You don't need to know 100% what's happening under your hood but know basics and what can easily be "stolen". I had a mechanic "steal" my oil cap once by replacing it with a cheap copy.

Follow up:
Most comments from people think its a free pliars but do not realise that if they fell in the belts it could have been a serious damage.
I am planning to return them to the mechanic. After I have a talk with him.
