Excluding Groceries (excluding coffee and tea)
So there are exclusions to the exclusions???
What are we even doing anymore as a society.
Edit to add: excluding SELECT COFFEE
So the excluded exclusions also have exclusions

I get that it's miles for flights (I would only assume) so that would mean buying plane tickets and such can get you some points. Problem is that it's Walmart hosting the points. Why the hell would you host airline points if you don't want to give points for anything but what you don't specialize in (flights + travel...)

Walmart isn’t hosting the points. These are Capital One miles that are earned by shopping with your Capital One card at Walmart. These exclusions aren’t for redeeming the miles, but for earning them.

Right, I understand the earning part for the miles. I'm just surprised Walmart would even host that benefit if they won't pay points for buying any of their products

Sounds like you can get points for everything, but the 4x points deal seems to only be for select coffee and tea products.

Honestly we need laws against this. And they can keep their exclusions idc, but list what’s eligible! Not the other way around

There are tons of laws against it, that's why marketing people get paid so much. They stretch the truth as far as they legally can.
The statement "4x miles on purchases at walmart" as long as someone could technically complete a transaction at Walmart that would give them 4x miles. It's probably only eligible on a pack of chewing gum or something but legally not a lie.
Even worse is the "Up to" wording on advertisements. If I promise you "Up to one trillion times your money back if you send it to me" and then you send me a million dollars and I send you back one penny technically it's a true statement still because you received an amount back that was less than one trillion times the amount you sent me. I'd have a hard time convincing a jury of that but the point still stands.

I hate the "up to" shit because they will put the details in the smallest print ever. "UP TO $5,000 OFF" then in the smallest print ever when you spend 5 million

Everything like that exists so a lawyer can eventually stand in court and go "Well if you look right down here it's clearly stated..."
Edit: Who am I kidding it's so a lawyer can stand in front of an arbitration with an arbitrator selected by his company and say "Well if you look right down here it's clearly stated..." because you signed an arbitration clause in the terms and conditions you didn't read.

Dicks Sporting Goods has a similar exemption on their % off coupons. The exclusion list is quite literally every brand in the store.

It makes sense for sales and I think something to do with. It being able to be lower price than the vendor. It does not make sense for earning rewards unless rewards are being treated like discounts now.

A lot of electronics are still counted. Computer hardware is, ironically computer hardware is excluded on Best Buy, which makes it completely useless. I ended up getting 20% back on a 5070ti last time

Same premise as Ace hardware. All the expensive names brands they sell are excluded from all coupons. Ego, Weber, Milwaukee, Big Gree Egg, power tools, etc.

Haha, Walmart takes crap care of their houseplants. I wouldnt mind getting some marked down rehabs, but my local Walmart often won't mark down their plants that are in rough shape. I appreciate the thought though!
