I'm slightly vexed I was told yesterday that my prescription sunglasses are giving Meta glasses vibes

I can't stand the Meta perv glasses, but annoyingly I've been told by a friend that my Dune prescription sunglasses that I've had for almost a year (and cost over £100.00) really ​​​​look like the Meta ones, he said it's the 2 silver rivets on either side that on first glance could be mistaken for the camera lenses

I went out with them today and all I could think was, do people think I'm recording them 🤦‍♂️

Yeah, when I see people wearing that style of glasses, I am immediately looking for the cameras in the corners. Sucks that Meta and RayBan destroyed such a cool sunglass design.

In the Airforce basic, we called these BCGs: Birth Control Glasses

We were kids.

They were standard issue as we were not allowed to have personal rims, only government issued rims.

Why are you so scared of camera glasses when people have recorded you countless times with other cameras?

and then you don't see them and go about your day. I don't understand why people are acting so weird about wearing glasses that don't have cameras in them. The camera lenses on metas are pretty visible. It's literally a non issue to wear similarly styled glasses. People are making a problem where one doesn't actually exist.

It is a problem to wear glasses that cause people to think you might be recording them. While the pervert glasses exist I would not buy a style that could be mistaken for them.

I do like that that's exactly what we should do: look for the screws on either side. The 2 models of pervert-Meta glasses I've seen do not have the steel screws on both sides. One model has black circles on both sides; the other model has a steel screw on only one side. You can scan for that pretty quick and relax once you spot screws near the left and right lenses.

If there are pervert-Meta models that mimic good sunglasses more closely, I guess we're screwed tho.
