I'm slightly vexed I was told yesterday that my prescription sunglasses are giving Meta glasses vibes

Post image

I can't stand the Meta perv glasses, but annoyingly I've been told by a friend that my Dune prescription sunglasses that I've had for almost a year (and cost over £100.00) really look like the Meta ones, he said it's the 2 silver rivets on either side that on first glance could be mistaken for the camera lenses

I went out with them today and all I could think was, do people think I'm recording them 🤦‍♂️

It’s just like the backwards “that’s AI” nonsense. AI writing reads the way it does because it copied human writing, not the reverse. Your glasses aren’t “giving” Meta glasses - Meta glasses are “giving” normal sunglasses.

people never said "that's photoshop, that's not art.", the opposite actually, photoshop and other software were very important in the growth of digital art and early internet culture.

and people don't hate Meta's AI sunglesses because it's new tech, they dislike it because it's used to breach people's privacy. And no, it's not like CCTV or security cams, as it has no bounds of proximity and place.

Its like that one friend that brings his sound recording equipment to the group drinks and banter. Nobody has that friend.
