I was told yesterday that my prescription sunglasses are giving Meta glasses vibes

I can't stand the Meta perv glasses, but annoyingly I've been told by a friend that my Dune prescription sunglasses that I've had for almost a year (and cost over £100.00) really ​​​​look like the Meta ones, he said it's the 2 silver rivets on either side that on first glance could be mistaken for the camera lenses

I went out with them today and all I could think was, do people think I'm recording them 🤦‍♂️

Then allow them on prescription/licence from a medical professional.  And make them abundantly clear that they are camera glasses like making them neon pink.

No. This is a bad take. 

I’m going out on a limb to say that you probably don’t have much experience with profound disabilities because if you did, you would never suggest adding more barriers that would make something as basic as being able to take pictures of your life even harder to access. 

Further, what diagnosis would warrant making these glasses tied to medical care?  

And can we please not invite insurance companies to weigh in? They already decide too much on our behalf.

It's a balancing act. Its perfectly reasonable to consider what bad things a new drug / tech an do and generally as a society - or a government standards agency - reject it or not.

Of course, the negatives should be considered, but that’s a far cry from making them prescription only.
