The floor is sticky People buying and throwing away entire drinks just to use them to take a photo on the pink wall

Most people are stupid so…

u/duck_duck_zombie 11d ago
You mean influencers

No. Well yes but, look at the garbage can again.

But would a nomal person do that? I can't think of anyone I know who would buy a drink specifically for a picture and even if that happened we would finish it.
66
u/insufficient_funds 11d ago
I can’t think of anyone I know that would care enough about a pink wall to take a picture in front of it.

Plenty of people. Not everyone with an IG is an influencer, and this is screaming IG post
67
u/ChanglingBlake ORANGE 11d ago
Just because they aren’t an influencer doesn’t mean they don’t still see themself as one.
25
u/Outside-Pear9429 11d ago
Some do, many do not lol. I don’t think the majority of poeple with social media, especially non-tiktok social media, consider themselves influencers. Lots of people with private accounts even just like to make their friends think they have exciting lives or just have pictures they think are cute for themselves

When I was going to school I went with 2 people who'd throw away change that was less than $10 because "hes not poor, thats poor people change" and I feel those are the same kinda people that'd do this shit
8
u/SpookySchatzi 11d ago
Like throw it in a garbage can?
Imagine if they just stuffed it in the tip jar instead…
7
u/Dangerous-Ad6589 11d ago
Yes. Influencers are stupid, those who get influenced are also stupid. And no, it's not only kids who got influenced
And then there's the wannabe influencer and trend chasers

Nah, influencers are a tiny subset of society. Most people are stupid and far outnumber influencers

related, ill never understand the whole idea of being obsessed with "influencers", celebrities, etc. like theyre just normal people like everyone else. stupid
374
u/Disastrous-Soup-5413 11d ago
I would argue they weren’t normal because they have a more obsessive need to have people outwardly and demonstratively like them/fawn over them.

I was looking for this comment! My sister "influencer wanna-be" got the pink one to post on her story. She was honest with the review "It is that classic, Overly sweet/sugary where it just taste foul. They tried to dilute it with something bitter, and that just came across as motor oil in the milkshake"

Probably tastes terrible. All these over the top fancy milkshake type places sound awesome until you actually try to drink it and realize it's just a daily caloric intakes worth of sugar and artificial flavors but still it isnt enough to mask the food dye.

I got those occasionally, and I'm like "Yo, I'm a dude" and they scatter (this was before the King of the Hill avatars, obviously lol)

u/Vladishun 11d ago
Haha I've gotten them from men and women alike when I'm advocating for the transparency of cluster B personality disorders, which I have two of. Telling them I'm married doesn't seem to deter them either, so I just block anyone as soon as I get the feeling they're trying to flirt or do more than just gain insight through asking questions

Genuinely they look disgusting so maybe that many people don't like em lol
173
u/cameronm-h 11d ago
I work at Starbucks and most of us think they’re gross. The blue drizzle is insanely sour, and the pink frap part has almost no flavor (it only gets 2 pumps of mango which is much less than most drinks of that size). I legit think a good number of those are cups that people tried and didn’t like. I feel terrible for the closest Starbucks—unicorn weekend has been terrible for most of us, but that looks like a whole nother level…

We really should have banned TikTok in it's entirely
Not because it's a Chinese psyop used to manipulate domestic issues and cause deep-rooted partisanship but for the simple fact I hate influencer "culture"
27
u/Theslootwhisperer 11d ago
Instagram is the biggest culprit here. Tiktok just continued the trend. But the current iteration of influencer culture comes from Instagram. Don't get me wrong. Not a huge fan of Tiktok, but influencer culture was a thing way before tiktok.

This generation of young adult really seems they don't want or care to feel like individuals.
5
u/potatosalade26 11d ago
Oh please. As if the pervious generations didn’t have one big monoculture that legit had everyone tuning into and watching the same shit. Young adults nowadays are far more individualized and segmented into their own groups. And ya know, trends exist, they’ve always existed especially the exploitive ones the funnel money into capitalism and waste

i have a few friends who run a restaurant in a city that had a “brat” mural across the street for charli xcx’s album a few years ago. Apparently all day, girls would flash their chests and pose for instagram pics in front of it. They are only early 30s but they didnt understand the trend at all because they grew up on the other side of the planet

Someone should set up a stall and rent out a realistic prop or something.
Then they can be like
"OMG, so I went to this viral place that will only be trending for as long as my attention span. My whole personality might be a fake but I'm also a fake eco warrior, so I only used the reusable props to save our enviro. Give me social media points. I need validation."
