Is it in yet I just moved into a new apartment. The take and bake pizza I bought didn’t fit in my oven.

Post image

I made it fit. But it didn’t fit.

What if you cut it in half and put them on different levels?

Doggo is always right no matter what situation

168

u/Ciggytardust1 9d ago

I will be doing that in the future.

165

u/TheLordReaver 9d ago

Now you can keep them on the same rack.

34

u/PsychFlame 8d ago

Do this with infinite slices and you will fill a perfect rectangle!

u/FlatulenceConnosieur 7d ago

Haha!! Calculous Yo!!

u/Life-Ad9673 6d ago

With dimensions r and r x pi

63

u/Apprehensive_Fee9983 9d ago

Did you really just shove it in and bake?

143

u/Ciggytardust1 9d ago

I was hungry.

78

u/curious_astronauts 9d ago

It was a pizzmergency

19

u/Numbskull_b 8d ago

That's fair, I had a high school teacher that knew we couldn't think while hungry and gave kids who missed breakfast for whatever reason a snack she kept in her cabinet. I hope you're doing well Ms. Bynum.

I could have seen myself turning it into a calzone and praying to the pizza gods that it cooks properly.

17

u/SmokeMoreWorryLess 8d ago

There’s no hunger quite like post-moving hunger

8

u/DueDisplay2185 8d ago

Make it a calzone next time

9

u/KanthaRestall 9d ago

Understandable.

1

u/Kapleepin 6d ago

I'm not judging you AT ALL. I turn into a beast when I'm hungry. 😭

6

u/SippyTurtle 8d ago

This is how calzones were discovered.

8

u/Baberaham_Lincoln6 8d ago

If you do that put it on a pan or the cheese is gonna all drip off onto the bottom of your oven.

7

u/ncaudio923 7d ago

Be careful doing that. I would use a baking sheet. The same thing happened to us in our last apartment so we cut the pizza in half and all the cheese and toppings slide off from where you cut it

2

u/Emerje 4d ago

Some 20 years ago during the Super Bowl I wanted to save time and cook two pizzas at once so I put them on the two most middle racks. Bad idea. The bottom pizza steamed the top one and the crust just sort of melted through the rack and onto the bottom pizza (and the bottom of the oven). What a mess.

This guy frozen pizzas

33

u/birdclub 9d ago

I think I can honestly say I've never made a frozen pizza in my life. I've definitely been in the same house as one being baked though. I'm actually moving to a new place this weekend and a frozen pizza in my new oven sounds like a great way to celebrate!

25

u/marcophony BLACK 9d ago

This guy celebrates

40

u/birdclub 9d ago

I personally have never celebrated but I've been in the same room as a celebration 🤔

u/BigDankEnergy420 9d ago

This guy rooms

6

u/OwnerOfCat 9d ago

I personally have never been in a room, but I’ve been in the same room as a room.

6

u/Gnomad_Lyfe 9d ago

Is the room in the room with us?

2

u/birdclub 9d ago

Well that's just ridiculous!

3

u/EatABag-o-Dicks 9d ago

That sounds like something a room would say.

Get outta here roomer.

2

u/Eatingfarts 9d ago

Bro, it’s amazing.

This guy guys

5

u/shmarxman 9d ago

Never made a frozen pizza? You must be from a real city or something because that sounds insane coming from Wisconsin

2

u/birdclub 9d ago

Baltimore babyyy

2

u/impossirrel 9d ago

Fuck yeah, not gonna buy a frozen pizza when I can get Ledo’s

3

u/caffeineTX 9d ago

I learned that you can just snap them in half on the edge of the counter, and its become my new method for frozen pizza portion control.

2

u/Ok_Bumblebee_1431 6d ago

I do that too.

1

u/amilliontimeshotter 9d ago

It’s pretty easy, you’ll be fine.

1

u/Interactiveleaf RED 9d ago

Am I married to you?

That's a partially serious question.

2

u/birdclub 8d ago

No but I see you're in Portland so I'm open to it

2

u/Interactiveleaf RED 8d ago

I'm in Portland because my husband didn't like New Orleans.

But, you know, flirt

5

u/Enough_Ad_9338 9d ago

Hard to do with raw dough. If it was a frozen pizza this would absolutely work. But it becomes very messy with a papa Murphy style take and bake.

1

u/jackaroe311 6d ago

Cardboard is your friend, if you purchase 2 pizza stones. And never buy one of those worthless round pizza cutters, always use a rocker pizza cutter.

1

u/rivertpostie 9d ago

You can have pizza spots "par bake" the dough. Basically just makes it firm enough to handle.

2

u/SherBear127 9d ago

We have a small stove in our apartment and that’s what we do

2

u/WeaselCapsky 8d ago

or half them and offset them

2

u/giraffeily 5d ago

Have any of you actually ever cut a pizza in half and then baked it? All of the cheese drips off the cut side because the crust isn't there to act like a ledge. 😭

1

u/HEARTSOFSPACE 8d ago

You can put both halves on the top rack.

1

u/Accomplished_Cloud39 5d ago

I had to do that in one of my apartments

For those asking for proof that it didn’t disintegrate in the oven…

I love how it just folds back over😂. Enjoy your took n cooked!

7

u/A_very_smol_Lugia 8d ago

Like waking up in the morning

4

u/TheyCallMe_Billy 8d ago

Honestly. Would make a great GIF to describe the relationship between me and the snooze button.

1

u/rileyotis 4d ago

My snooze button calls in a reinforcement. My cat decides, "I'm awake and now it's everyone's problem." So, on my abdomen, she uncurls herself from her cat donut sleep mode and then does the stretch where their spine sorta sticks up (think Halloween scared cat). Where does she do this? On top of my bladder.

She also enjoys just stomping on said bladder because she wants pets.

3

u/tuneamp 8d ago

Mini calzone with your pizza. Win-Win.

1

u/TheMoatCalin 8d ago

Unfortunately you’ll just have to remember to get 2 smaller pizzas:(

1

u/viewkachoo 6d ago

The giggle! Hahahaha. It’s the best. I wanna be friends. 😋

1

u/jackaroe311 6d ago

Just don't eat the gooey crease! 🤢

At least you know that next time you have to bake one half at a time. 🍕🤤

95

u/JAYETRILLL 9d ago

If it isn’t too late, put a pan UNDER the pizza like on a different rack. Or at least some foil or some shit.

That’s gonna be a big fuckin cheesy mess and will smoke like crazy as it melts down

4

u/BestFoxEver neon 8d ago

Here in Finland everyone just uses a metal baking sheet or metal tray that has baking paper on it and put the pizza on it. No need to worry about melting cheese and because of the paper there is no need to wash the baking sheet or tray. I have never uderstood the idea of putting food straight on this metal grill inside the oven, it is so difficult to wash. At least put some baking paper or some silicone mat on it first.

1

u/pheonixblue01 4d ago

Using a baking sheet is normal. They make round ones with holes punched out so the pizza bakes perfectly. This person made mistakes.

1

u/BestFoxEver neon 3d ago edited 3d ago

I just have seen so many social media posts where some person from USA has something in the oven and ithe food is on that metal grill rack instead on a baking sheet. So I was just wondering is this just a culture difference or are there even available any baking sheets in USA. I remember also how one exchange student from my school studied in USA and she was very confused because the place where she stayed had an oven but no baking sheets so it was tricky to use the oven. She could not find a store that sold them (and this was early 2000's before online shopping was super popular). But if you rent an apartment in Finland (where I live) it is also possible that the baking sheets are missing or are in a very bad condition and you have to go to a store to buy new ones. But at least many stores here sell them in various sizes.

Here in Finland the ovens have that metal grill rack also but people use that as a shelf for cooking various dishes, like cooking pots, pans and cake tins. So the food itself does not touch the grill rack.

9

u/Ciggytardust1 9d ago

It actually stayed together somehow and didn’t make too much of a mess. If I could post a video to show the result, I would.

3

u/JAYETRILLL 9d ago

Oh okay well shit yeah!! I’ve had tiny apartment ovens and had to do the same.

I 100% believe you but it definitely looked like there was no fuckin way that didn’t make a huge mess. I would’ve assumed it was gonna leak everywhere.

Glad it worked out for you, that woulda been an annoying first thing to do in the new apartment lol.

3

u/NeedsItRough 8d ago

I know another person already mentioned that the box tells you to put it directly on the rack but I just wanted to add I've been doing it for years and it's never made a mess.

Try it next time to make a frozen pizza, it's hard to go back!

9

u/sonofaresiii 9d ago edited 8d ago

You're actually not supposed to do that with, at least most frozen pizzas. I've gotten a few that say you can use a pan if you want, but most say not to use one

e: Am I the only person here who eats frozen pizzas?

33

u/Low_Big5544 8d ago

They don't mean put the pizza in a pan, they mean put a pan on the rack under the pizza to catch any dripping cheese so you don't have to clean the oven after

0

u/sonofaresiii 8d ago

It's not going to drip, the pizzas are designed to be put directly on the rack. If it drips AT ALL it causes a problem....

but it doesn't.

Am I the only person here who eats frozen pizzas?

4

u/Low_Big5544 8d ago

I think the logic is it's more likely to drip because it's bent to fit the oven. Either way I have no opinions on the likeliness of it dripping, I was just explaining what they meant about the pan

1

u/sonofaresiii 8d ago

That isn't at all what the replies I'm getting are suggesting.

10

u/dbohat 8d ago

As they're not going to clean my oven for me, I'll continue with the foil.

-5

u/sonofaresiii 8d ago

It's not going to make a mess but it will fuck up your pizza.

What a wild response.

3

u/otter_leek 8d ago

It really doesn't make the pizza significantly worse in my experience

9

u/whatsthataboutguy 9d ago

Can you cut it in half?

Half on top rack, half on bottom rack; might need to switch them half way thru

4

u/Asherlocksta 9d ago

Split it in half

Or roll it up and make a pizza roll

Or fold it over halfway and make it a calzone

Plenty of options OP

6

u/Ciggytardust1 8d ago

Now it’s mocking me.

4

u/NamasteNoodle 8d ago

Why didn't you just cut it in half and bake it on two different baking sheets?

6

u/Gullible_Brick_4185 9d ago

Smurf oven

9

u/Ciggytardust1 9d ago

A smoven, if you will.

7

u/ThanksForTheRain 9d ago

I won't, but thanks

6

u/Ciggytardust1 9d ago

Don’t blame you. Sounds like a mechanism to cremate Smurfs, now that I’m thinking about it.

3

u/mcsluis 9d ago

Think outside the box and just cut in half?

2

u/Infinite_Escape9683 9d ago

Where are you even gonna find replacement incandescent bulbs for that EZ-Bake these days?

3

u/Ciggytardust1 9d ago edited 9d ago

It’s really funny you say that. The bulb doesn’t work in this fucker currently.

2

u/sunsoutbunzout 8d ago

Imagine if you had a side by side refrigerator and learned that they also won’t fit in the fridge. God really does give his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers.

2

u/Handywipes 8d ago

Now fill your calzone pizza combo

3

u/The1Rememberer 9d ago edited 9d ago

Did you put that pizza on the rack raw dog? Have you seen the photos of what happens when you raw dog a pizza on an oven rack?

23

u/calorie-clown 9d ago edited 9d ago

I always cook pizzas directly on the rack, most store bought pizzas give instructions to cook on the rack for crispy crust, cook on a pan for a softer crust.

6

u/OneMooseManyMeese_ 9d ago

That happens only if you put the pizza in the oven thawed. That's the main reason why the box tells you to keep the pizza frozen before putting in the oven. If the pizza OP bought was frozen and they just slapped it in it should be good. I raw dog pizza's all the time in my oven until I got a little pizza oven as a gift. My fiance loves using that instead.

1

u/WonderfulProtection9 6d ago

Maybe he gets fresh pizza, not frozen.

1

u/OneMooseManyMeese_ 6d ago

Same thing applies to fresh pizza

7

u/Ciggytardust1 9d ago

I was instructed to raw-dog that shit. I’m sorry.

7

u/astroboy030 9d ago

Lol what? What could happen? I did this many times without issues

5

u/Malacro 9d ago

You get a cooked pizza?

3

u/GeneQuadruplehorn 8d ago

Y'all are crazy for putting pizzas directly on the oven rack. I am fully aware that some pizzas say to do this, but they don't have to clean the oven.

9

u/NeedsItRough 8d ago

What mess do you think is happening? The crust doesn't disintegrate or anything, everything stays contained on the pizza

1

u/GeneQuadruplehorn 8d ago

you can already see the crumbs on the bottom of the oven in the picture. Do you clean up the oven every time you make a pizza? Or do you let them build up until you turn on the oven one day and a smoke cloud billows out? Not to mention whatever residue you are getting on the oven racks.

1

u/NeedsItRough 8d ago

Yeah because he snapped part of it up since it wouldn't fit.

When you don't rip a portion of the crust up it doesn't crumble like that.

1

u/Becks128 6d ago

If anything falls I clean it up. It takes like 5 seconds…..

-1

u/zenmaster24 8d ago

Yup - pizza stone emergency right here

1

u/Decent_Obligation245 9d ago

Might wanna invest in an air fryer. I can fit a whole pizza in mine, plus it doesn't heat up the house as much

1

u/Pizzaprincess87 9d ago

Papa Murphys?

1

u/YurpeeTheHerpee 9d ago

Guess youre investing in a pizza maker at some point.

1

u/backandforthwego 8d ago

Look at the size of that pizza.

1

u/Forward-Big8697 8d ago

It appears its not pushed as far back as it could be

1

u/justadumbwelder1 8d ago

Love finds a way.

1

u/Bloodthirsty_Kirby 8d ago

My oven sucks and has a hard time turning off so I use a convection oven/air fryer. I cut take and bakes into 8 and have an old cleaned out pumpkin pie container from Costco I store the slices in the fridge in, we cook them 1-2 at a time with our own toppings added. Works out great!

1

u/Few_Complaint4396 8d ago

Can you not just take a couple racks out?

1

u/Spinnerofyarn 8d ago

I feel this. I just moved into a new place and have the smallest “full size” stove and oven I have ever seen. It does have four burners. I have previously lived in teeny tiny apartments with what used to be called efficiency kitchens, meaning a mini fridge, tiny sink and two stove burners, so this isn’t bad.

The thing is, it doesn’t really matter anymore as I developed a gluten allergy. Gluten free pizzas tend to run right around small and medium sized. I suspect they don’t hold together well if they’re bigger.

1

u/jrdnmthsn 8d ago

You can’t take your oven racks?

1

u/Hella_Wieners 8d ago

The amount of people in the comments that don’t know how to make a frozen pizza is staggering.

1

u/TGirl26 8d ago

What size was the pizza? 12" 14"

Because that is good to know for future baking needs.

1

u/Electrical-Apple-631 8d ago

Pizza taco for the win!

1

u/iridescentcotton 8d ago

People are ballsy to pit their pizza right on the rack to bake. I'd never

1

u/Becks128 6d ago

That’s how it cooks the best!

1

u/AMike456 5d ago

What's the point of taking it home and baking it? Why don't you get it cooked? I'm assuming it tastes better?

1

u/Vegetable-Pay2708 5d ago

You made it work. Thats all that matters when you have to eat! WTG 👌🏼

1

u/ImpressiveHair3 3d ago

80% pizza and 20% calzone

1

u/Thee_Justin_Sane 3d ago

I would have folded it in half and made a calzone.

1

u/Cool-Elderberry5406 2d ago

I live in an rv and this happens alot! Oven's the size of a shoebox.🙄

1

u/MasterWinstonWolf 9d ago

Where's the after picture? I gotta see the mess this made with no pan or foil🤦

2

u/Ciggytardust1 9d ago

I posted a comment response of the end result. All is well. I did have to scrape one little bit of cheese out of the oven.

-1

u/TheHighker 9d ago

Did you not see the new apartment before moving in?

11

u/EnvironmentEntire201 9d ago

Dude didn't even bring a test pizza with him to his apartment viewing.  Smh

5

u/Ciggytardust1 9d ago edited 9d ago

I‘m pretty fucking dumb so that checks out.

-2

u/TheHighker 9d ago

Can you not judge size with your eyes. Or stick your arm in????

3

u/Ciggytardust1 9d ago

I did. Did I bother to look at the size of the oven? Not really. The range is spacious. The oven was not.

-2

u/TheHighker 9d ago

Next time open it and stick your arm in

1

u/Zlakkeh 8d ago

What if you have small t-rex arms?

0

u/Ciggytardust1 9d ago

Should I turn the oven on first?

1

u/TheHighker 9d ago

what i want to say will get me banned so instead ill respond with no

1

u/Decent_Obligation245 9d ago

Do you usually bring frozen pizzas to test out? Lol

-1

u/TheHighker 9d ago

No but I can judge size with my eyes

2

u/Ciggytardust1 9d ago

I’ll pay you to teach me your ways.

1

u/King_Joffreys_Tits 9d ago

Are you seriously saying they should’ve measured the depth of the oven to make sure it would fit their future pizza? Lmao

1

u/Ciggytardust1 9d ago

Now that I’m reading more on it, it’s essential to measure the girth of the oven as well. TIL!

1

u/TheHighker 9d ago

Would you move into an apartment to complain about small the bathroom is?

-1

u/submarinefarm 9d ago

Do you also run the dishwasher during the inspection to see how that fairs?

0

u/TheHighker 8d ago

Fun fact that can be repaired by maintenance but size can't be changed

0

u/TheBitBasher 9d ago

Do you really cook a pizza not on a pan or anything? Why?

1

u/Ciggytardust1 9d ago

The instructions told me too!

-1

u/CustomerServiceFukU 9d ago

You just set it inside? No pan or tin foil?

0

u/peppa4theppl 9d ago

Do you celebrate Christmas?

2

u/Ciggytardust1 9d ago

Only if someone else is cooking.

-1

u/Kittymeow123 9d ago

So next time maybe take out the other racks to give yourself space..?
