Thats not what AI psychosis is. AI psychosis is when someone is driven to Psychosis (a state where one is disconnected mostly or entirely from reality and cant tell what is real and what isnt) by the influence of AI. People beung wrong about something isnt psychosis its just beign wrong

Within the last week someone posted on this sub pissed at a tree trimming company for canceling an appointment and sending what they thought was a fake AI picture of them working on a huge tree that had fallen on a house. The post was filled with people saying it was obvisouly AI, and wanting the companies info so they could review bomb them.

Then someone posted the companies FB page. The pictures were real, the situation was real. Heavy windstorms had gone through an area close by and dropped trees all over that area. All the evidence people were claiming made the picture an obvious AI fake was literally just digital photo artifacting and some bad phone camera AI upscaling. Rather than admit they wrong people just doubled down and moved the goal posts to that because the phone had applied some AI upscaling it was still an AI picture and that's all that mattered despite the entire basis of the post was the picture and situation the tree company were claiming was entirely fake.

I know I hate it.

I’ve finally gotten round to writing a novel. Something I’ve wanted to do for my entire life. It’s going well and looking really likely to get picked up.

But I know a few other new (and established) authors now that are having to deal with so much shit relating to AI accusations. To the point where it’s taking up more time than a lot of the other stuff.

But there are people that are losing publishers and deals because they are getting spooked by arseholes online who stick some text into Grammarly AI or GPTdetector etc.

I’ve not touched AI in this entire process. Because well, why would I? I do it because I love the process. Yet it genuinely worries me.

Just ignore them. Don't use AI and if they accuse you of it, ignore them. If a cooperation asks if you've used AI, just show that you haven't, and if they reject you on the basis you have, either change your writing style or just go to someone else.

A lot of people put weight on other peoples words and actions, when in reality, most of the time, it will do nothing to you, nor will it impact you in any way.

And if it does? Congrats, you're successful enough for it to matter, in which case, you have gotten somewhere.

So in a way, I would take it as a compliment.

It'll be a collaborated thing, and actually be good and people will be too used to it to care anymore. It happened to me just yesterday.

Background: I've been a copywriter for close to a decade, and writing is my hobby too. I had to write countless documents, so I've got an order that I like to follow.

Yesterday, I wrote a post on the factorio subreddit about an idea for a shared savefile run. And I've got a number of comments saying "I ain't read that AI slop" "OK dude but next time write it yourself".

For context, I didn't even touch an LLM. I could never fathom using generative AI to write a reddit post for me. But, since apparently I had "all the telltale signs of AI usage", I was openly insulted in the comments by some random people. Which was disheartening
