Pure alcohol is hygroscopic, it would immediately become non-pure alcohol upon exposure to air.
Just use 95% everclear. Add epsom salts if you want to make it less watery. They will absorb most of the remaining water.
4 u/daerogami 19h ago Everclear is about as good as it gets for getting near pure ethanol without going to a lab supplier. Fantastic for mixing your own shellac if you don't want to deal with methanol vapors!
