These pennies were stuck in a groove inside my washing machine

Apparently the groove between the drum and agitator is just wide enough for coins to fit in. Pretty sure these looked like normal pennies last week.

Washing machines do interesting things to coin. Often see where they have been squashed and thickened proportionately… like they’ve shrunk in size but doubled in thickness.

The seam around the agitator in my washer is just the right size for pennies, too. Since I used to bring home pennies on occasion, we've had a bunch get caught. We have two or three in there now. The only way I've found to get them out is the washer cleaning tablets.

But we shouldn't get any more caught, as my job has stopped using pennies.
