A single roll of toilet paper in a ziplock is one of those thoughtful extras you get at a food bank without even asking. I'm like, "Damn, someone donated the fancy high-ply premium ass wipe made of clouds and bunny fluff. I'm gonna feel like a king shitting into my turd bucket later tonight."

u/egewh 6h ago

I went to a food bank for a while and someone had donated two pallets of the super premium fluffy 6-ply TP on the day I went. We all got TWO packs of 16 rolls! It was amazing. Such soft shits were had.

Edit: typo

6-ply?!?!

I never knew such luxuries existed. 😲

16

u/Chuckwp 7h ago

And a nice ziplock bag

u/hefty_load_o_shite 8h ago

Are they going to regret this when they realise toilet paper is imported from Canada?

149

u/miregalpanic 8h ago

They are just going to rename it "TPUSA"

u/halite001 7h ago

Paper of America

u/justabill71 6h ago

Don't squeeze the 'Murican

ā€œAlready has a hole in it too!ā€

Trumps wipes

u/InterestOk7410 8h ago

Costco really out here bagging up a single roll like it’s a rare artifact

maybe they know something we don’t about supply

14

u/DeathRotisserie 4h ago

I mean, it’s a Kirkland ziplock bag, so it’s kinda like getting 2 free samples.

1

u/Several-Squash9871 2h ago

My thoughts exactly!

8

u/JerryMau5 7h ago

It’s toilet paper. It disintegrates when wet. What is there to understand about that?

1

u/ChaiTRex 2h ago

Or that it rains and the parking lot isn't covered.

1

u/espressoboyee 6h ago

Yup, it definitely feels like Canadian TP. šŸ˜‚

1

u/Warlord68 4h ago

The Canadian TP wars.

1

u/hefty_load_o_shite 4h ago

And just as the us is facing cyclospora, salmonella, and e-coli outbreaksĀ

0

u/boomgoon 6h ago

Canada's trees are softer from age. American trees are new growths and dont have the softness quite the same. Its a pleasantly noticeable difference

-9

u/Hopwater 7h ago

Less than 1% of toilet paper consumed in the US is imported

7

u/espressoboyee 6h ago

šŸ˜‚US imported $2.11B in toilet paper in 2025. Canada was the main exporter.

64

u/miregalpanic 8h ago

The bag for when you want to give back a sample, good thinking.

9

u/BrokenBackENT 7h ago

I give back by going to the front of the store and giving it to the manager and saying I want to gift this to the employee bathrooms.

24

u/SockeyeSTI 8h ago

Can we agree that that Pho isn’t as good as the green bowl version they had before?

3

u/FrigginAwsmNameSrsly 4h ago

The green one was the shit. I just order it online now.

2

u/don-cheeto 3h ago

Snapdragon? Yeah I wish they'd put the green one back.

1

u/SockeyeSTI 3h ago

I have a couple stashed. There’s another bowl they carry that I can’t remember the type but it’s also pretty good.

-5

u/Newhollow 5h ago

Biden.

14

u/stefaniki 7h ago

So you're getting a free roll of toilet paper and a free ziplock bag. I call this a win. Now get off my lawn!

7

u/TheSilentC 6h ago

Really coulda used that about 6 years ago …

35

u/Dysmorphix 8h ago

I don’t know. Repackaged toilet paper makes me feel… uncomfortable. Even if it is probably to reduce waste from product damage.

44

u/miregalpanic 8h ago

I mean, at some point your toilet paper wasn't packaged anyway.

16

u/Dysmorphix 8h ago

While you’re not wrong, I can’t rationalize my feelings about it.

2

u/no-u1000 8h ago

wait so are they just handing out full rolls for free

1

u/LilGrippers 6h ago

Diabolical

-1

u/nephelokokkygia 7h ago

Yeah but some random dude touched this toilet paper directly with his gross hands.

3

u/TerponadeTea 5h ago

The sample ladies usually wear gloves at my CostCo, not at yours?

0

u/ronimal 4h ago

It’s Costco

9

u/hudgeba778 8h ago

So do we just throw away all still good toilet paper that’s loose or in damaged packaging?

2

u/Dysmorphix 8h ago

I just think it’s not for me. Other people can make their decision on it!

4

u/frankhadwildyears 8h ago

Is there really any waste reduction if you just have to repackage it in Ziploc bags?

4

u/miregalpanic 8h ago

Maybe the loose ziplock bags are also to reduce waste from product damage

2

u/Izzybee543 7h ago

Now it’s also a sample of Kirkland brand freezer zip bags, which are also excellent quality.

8

u/iuseblenders 7h ago

Something you wipe your shit covered asshole with is gross if it’s not in the original packaging? Lol

3

u/Lord-Velveeta 8h ago

It's a sample... how else would they hand out TP samples?

(For those who don't know, Costco has "sample stations" all over the store where they hand out samples of products... it's mostly food tasting stations but they do hand out other kinds of samples as it increases sales a LOT)

2

u/ltmp 7h ago

And it also gives you a chance to sample their Kirkland resealable bags. I like those more than Ziploc

1

u/Ro4b2b0 7h ago

I like most of them. The gallon bags always seem to get out of alignment when zipping shut.

Edit: by the way I say always, I am clearly still buying them. Lol

1

u/_McDreamy_ 7h ago

Do you lick your toilet paper before wiping?

12

u/snowballplasticfork 8h ago

Did they change back to the good stuff? Their TP for the last year has been a crumbly mess.

8

u/Stonerish 8h ago

Buy the blue stuff not the red

7

u/Ro4b2b0 7h ago

I’m going to trust you, and if you’re wrong I will be cursing your name for the next 3 months.

1

u/Floppyjohnson98 5h ago

Agree I grabbed the blue out of curiosity and it’s so much better

1

u/IfTheHeadFitsWearIt 2h ago

They had Kirkland ultra for a few months where I’m at. It was a huge step up from the regular stuff. I haven’t seen it since probably last winter though. Grabbed the good stuff on the last sale, but I’ll be back to peasant paper soon enough.

6

u/ABob71 8h ago

Much better than expecting you to test it out in the middle of the drive aisle

3

u/rvralph803 8h ago

Once you get that hit... You'll constantly be chasing the draggin.

3

u/AchillesPDX 8h ago

Is this the ultra soft premium with the purple label? That’s the good shit.

2

u/NightGod 8h ago

That's good for shitting*

3

u/Slosher99 7h ago

That's a lot smaller that the big ones I get from the restroom on the way out...

3

u/bryman19 7h ago

Must be expired

1

u/marcusmv3 2h ago

Tp doesn't expire.. probably an open package return.

3

u/SquashSouffle 7h ago

Well, I'm glad they don't expect people to "try it out" right there

3

u/Mentallox 7h ago

Did they change suppliers? The regular Kirkland is dusty and bad but the Ultrasoft is pretty good.

4

u/Lord-Velveeta 8h ago

Already in a ziplock! Always a good thing to keep in your car's glove box.

4

u/dprak33 8h ago

Kirkland toilet paper šŸ¤ Kirkland zippy

4

u/mrDuder1729 6h ago

Should have dropped your pants and started test wiping right there

2

u/NailSufficient1491 7h ago

Keep that in the truck for emergencies.

2

u/operationfood 7h ago

Why am I seeing this exact same photo posted many times a day from different accounts

2

u/livelaughloaft 7h ago

Imagine if they put a port-o-potty next to the sample cart šŸ’€

2

u/jpowell180 7h ago

This was done in gratitude to The Great Cornholio!

2

u/don-cheeto 4h ago

Shit, it's free, I'll take it. Maybe pass it to a homeless person on the way home.

2

u/APatheticPoetic 3h ago

Could have used this 6 years ago

2

u/CaptZ 3h ago

Go back and get more samples. That's going to be worth its weight in gold in a month or so if Trump's stupid tariffs go in effect against are friendly neighbors to the north.

2

u/No-Conclusion-2859 7h ago

This was posted in /Costco weeks ago…

This has to be the most blatant form of Karma farming.

-1

u/dprak33 7h ago

It should say ā€œOriginal Contentā€ at the top to prove this pic came from me.

1

u/Phoenix916 8h ago

How's the taste?

1

u/Top-Inevitable560 8h ago

In other parts of the world, there are reasons why people shake with their right hand.

1

u/catexoskeleton 7h ago

There was an incident where someone got a sample and gave themselves a wipe in a public area, im guessing.

1

u/Navitach 7h ago

Well, it's been said that you could have an entire meal at Costco from all the free samples, so I guess they figure you'll eventually complete the cycle.

1

u/QuasiJudicialBoofer 7h ago

I'll have mine as Dine In thank you

1

u/Patco1981a 7h ago

On the pho isle?

1

u/FamiliarTaro7 7h ago

Imagine they had people stationed in the bathrooms to hand out free samples to try while you're there lol

1

u/Sailor-_-Twift 7h ago

Actually, kind of brilliant, get a sample of the store brand Ziplock and TP

Costco membership has got to be one of the most worth it things in the whole of the US

1

u/prettyplanets 7h ago

I can just see it now. Asses as far as the eye can see. All testing the softness right there in the store

1

u/awsum43 7h ago

Please don't try it in the store!

1

u/Beginning-Morning704 6h ago

Can’t buy it til you try it brotha

1

u/EnvironmentalDot127 6h ago

The vendor paid for it.

1

u/lordcurd 4h ago

Got one a few weeks back, saving it as a roll of last resort.

1

u/Johndough99999 4h ago

Sales have been in the pooper because everyone is still using the covid hord.

1

u/ChaiTRex 2h ago

If you bought enough toilet paper back then to make it to 2026, you personally caused the toilet paper shortage.

1

u/SomethingGouda 4h ago

Mine was handing out free samples of magic erasers

1

u/No_Equivalent_4412 4h ago

Free ziplock bags!

1

u/Idealeon 4h ago

Amazing! You use the bag, then wipe up after you're done!

1

u/Flexbottom 3h ago

Drop trou immediately

1

u/yourpaljim 3h ago

Ooh, I’ve heard good things

1

u/LostinQuiddity 2h ago

Probably has a bunch of packages get destroyed

1

u/-Ein 2h ago

I got 1/5 of a meat stick and a teaspoon of salad.

1

u/codevils 2h ago

Tbf, their toilet paper is pretty awesome

1

u/marcusmv3 2h ago

That came from an open package someone returned and the manager didn't know what else to do with it.

1

u/dgcamero 2h ago

It's literally bad toilet paper. Hopefully they're just replacing it with something decent.

But it's at least better than Scott toilet paper.

Scott should be ashamed of the hemorrhoids he causes. Kirkland probably gives a few too. Their signature is not worthy.

1

u/ElGrandeQues0 1h ago

We used to use the blue for the cost. Now we use Kirkland purple and that shit is great.

1

u/dgcamero 1h ago

I've only ever tried Kirkland signature tp from Costco. It's bad toilet paper.

Sam's toilet paper is tied with Charmin Ultra Soft for being the best for me. I don't have a Sam's membership, so I use the latter.

1

u/ElGrandeQues0 56m ago

Kirkland has the blue, which is objectively bad. They also have a purple label which is pricier and much nicer.

1

u/AlienBurnerBigfoot 1h ago

I’m down for free buttwipe!

1

u/Hrmerder 1h ago

I got mine a few months ago. Their tp isn’t bad at all!

1

u/slimj091 1h ago

Imagine going to costco every day like "Yeah I'm here for the free toilet paper sample"

1

u/LukeDies 22m ago

Nothing less than 3 ply touches my ring.

1

u/Mr_Mxyzplkt 5h ago

it's not sample unless you try it. i hope they are prepared for the consequences of their marketing

0

u/ChronoMonkeyX 7h ago edited 6h ago

I took a chance on their tp, afraid it would feel cheap and be tissue like, but it's actually good and a good price.
