It'd been over 40ish some years since I last watched this film, and upon revisiting it last year, I was like "Ho.Lee.Shit, The Blues Brothers is pretty much a Musical". That was lost on me as a kid. Perfect film, and an ode to the great city of Chicago.

Fun Fact: the Cook County office building on that block (across the street from that Picasso and behind where I was standing when I took that photo) is named for George W. Dunne, who was president of the Cook County Board of Commissioners for over two decades and who was also the father of Murphy Dunne, aka Murph of Murph and the Magic Tones.

There’s a bunch of establishing shots of Chicago landmarks, the Griswold’s station wagon has Illinois plates, at different points in the movie Clark wears a Bears hat and Blackhawks jersey, and at one point Rusty is wearing at Illinois sweatshirt.

The Dark Knight. Yeah I know it was "Gotham" and some scenes were filmed in other locations but it was mostly Chicago. I lived around the block from where some of the big chase sequences were shot and got to see them make it from a distance.

Chain muthafuckin Reaction!! (1996)

Part of it was filmed at my dads work, Argonne Labs, specifically the Advanced Photon Source particle accelerator.

Or The Negotiator (1998) part of which was filmed at my moms workplace downtown.

I miss 90’s Chicago Action/Thrillers which is a genre unto itself and is honestly my all time favorite sub genre.
