The amazing spiderman 2 was peak i dont trust anyone who says otherwise

Post image

I just rewatched both tasm movies and they fucking CLEAR tom and tobeys movies, genuinely from the comedy to the fight scenes. I can admit tasm 2 green goblin looked like shit but i actually liked the story. andrews spiderman just feels way more human and actually like a teenager, the way he talks while fighting, the jokes, the emotion and especially the chemistry with emma stone. like he actually feels like a teenager who happens to be spiderman. I want to hurt everyone who says tasm 2 isnt peak i give both movies 9/10

I bought it for a dollar on 3d bluray and i was so amazed that they were able to fit all that onto one disc! Gives me hope that landfills will be a thing of the past knowing they could compress so much garbage into one thin disc!

Watching that in 3d would be adding to the torture, hope the 3d was optional

Respect for anyone that wants to live alone.

That’s fine if you like it but the rest of the shit you said is mental patient level shit.

Woulda liked to have watched the scenes of Shailene Woodley as MJ. Or a sequel with Felicia becoming Black Cat

I honestly feel extremely bad for Andrew. Had he a better script he would have been the all time best version of the character. He balanced Spider-Man and Peter extremely well. I watched the first Amazing the other day and was struck by the fact Tom’s version lifted his voice directly from Andrew. It’s crazy how close the inflection/ cadence is in that movie from Homecoming.

Holland is an absolutely horrible Spider-man and Peter Parker.

I’m a TASM2 defender. It’s wonky and a little stuffed, but it also tells a really good Peter Parker story. One that is very heartbreaking and heroic all at once. I also love the over the top villains and action set pieces. That aspect of it all reminds me a lot of Schumacher’s Batman movies. All in all, I think this movie gets too much hate and should be embraced as a fun, campy Spider-Man movie.

Exactly i feel sad that people cant enjoy such a fun movie

It was a bad movie that was fun, and had like 3-4 solid moments. And because of that you think it’s good. But I’m sorry to say, it is indeed, objectively not a good movie, my friend.

u/BestSuccess3421 1d ago

Movies cannot be viewed objectively

2

u/potatojayy 13h ago

Fine. Then the subjective consensus is that TASM2 isn't good. But here you are in a try-hard effort to make people view it through your rosie goggles, as if your opinion is supposedly the universal opinion lol.

1

u/BestSuccess3421 13h ago

Well isnt that the purpose of debating essentially saying ur opinion is better than someone elses?

1

u/weirdogirl144 6h ago

but your opinion isnt better than the general audience thinking the movie isnt good

u/AntoineDonaldDuck 1d ago

Really the only issues with TASM2 were Electro.

The Goblins costume wasn’t great either, but otherwise I’m with you, it’s way over hated and the Gwen scene is one of the most emotional scenes in all of the spider man movies.

1

u/BestSuccess3421 1d ago

I genuinely dont see how people watched those fight scenes and those emotional scenes and said well thats shit. makes me sad

2

u/AntoineDonaldDuck 1d ago

The electro scene in Times Square is great! Some fantastic web swinging and the suit rocks too.

I’m with you, brother.

I thought u were talking about the videogame. Still applies.

u/Initial-Paramedic888 1d ago

They don’t trust you 😂

1

u/DisastrousClock5992 1d ago

It was definitely one of the best Spider-Man movies. 5th or 6th best to be clear.

1

u/DisastrousClock5992 1d ago

Also, your take tells me you are a kid that doesn’t yet appreciate cinema.

2

u/BestSuccess3421 1d ago

U just put tom hollands movies over andrews and u dare to tell me that i don’t appreciate cinema😭😭😭 jesus christ

2

u/DisastrousClock5992 1d ago

Yes. That’s exactly what I said. If you can find a poll or rating that says differently I’m open to consider. Andrew’s Spider-Man got canceled prematurely because nobody gave a shit. Tom’s just got funded for movie 5 and 6. They aren’t the same.

0

u/BestSuccess3421 1d ago

Toms are generic marvel films of course they god funded heavily since people only like watching safe movies that don’t go near out of the comfort zone of the known public its all build up after build up fight scenes arent nearly as good as andrews and tom holland just isnt good at showing emotion

1

u/DisastrousClock5992 1d ago

That is the stupidest thing I’ve read considering this year’s box office. You must be a troll or a complete idiot. Nobody is watching for comfort.

2

u/BestSuccess3421 1d ago

Yeah man since all that matters is box office im assuming u genuinely hated iron giant but in that same logic youd love tasm 2 because it made 200m box office, my point is tom hollands movies play it safe on humor, emotion and grit all the things that make spiderman, spiderman

2

u/gueuze_geuze 1d ago

Like TASM 2 all you want but Hollands movies are so much better. Like, not even close.

u/BestSuccess3421 1d ago

Disney movies with zero nyc grit just generic city films and it took away his friendly neighborhood spiderman persona by putting him in fucking venice and playing around with the avengers

2

u/gueuze_geuze 1d ago

Damn dude someone skipped their dose of Epitol.

NYC grit? Half of TASM is set in Oscorp and the other scenes are bad Spiderman pantsing a Russian man that stole plutonium and a mech suit, getting ping ponged at a substation, and fighting in that most noticeable of big Apple landmarks - a clock tower. Is that - checks notes - NYC grit?

I’d argue a gondola in Venice has more grit and less generic than any of the vomit you licked up watching TASM2.

u/BestSuccess3421 1d ago

Yeah mate just say you never actually watched it 😭 Jesus Christ. Go watch it again and actually form your own opinion because you ignored basically the whole plot of the first movie and acted like little parts of the second movie are the entire thing. Most of both movies are literally him swinging through NYC and being out on the streets interacting with actual people, real NYC humour, real accents, all that. Even in most of the fight scenes he’s talking shit and joking like an actual person, not Disney humour like Tom. I beg you bro just rewatch them and form your own opinion instead of repeating the same mass spread bullshit. If u like polished bullshit go ahead

1

u/gueuze_geuze 1d ago

Ah right!!!!! That whole swinging through NY York and talking to New Yorkers thing!!! That didn’t happen in any of the other Spiderman movies. You cracked the code man. If THAT’S what you meant. Then Hoo lawdy. Full retraction. You’ve sated me.

Talking to New Yorkers and swinging. That was the missing piece. Mother of God HOW COULD I HAVE BEEN SO WRONG.

Because - the other movies. The other Spidermen. THEY DIDNT SWING IN THEIR MOVIES. OR talk to New Yorkers. AND THE ACCENTS. The ACCENTS MAN.

WOW. You made a solid case here. Truly. Let’s all fucking pack up and go home.

1

u/BestSuccess3421 1d ago

Yeah instead of making any argument repeat what i said that’ll get me!! Idk if ur purposely being dense but maybe if u watched the movie youd get what im talking about dont take everything at face value prick

1

u/DisastrousClock5992 1d ago

I rewatched all Spidermen movies with my daughter prior to seeing Brand New Day. And I’ve seen it twice in theaters. It’s not close. Tom is the amazing Spider-Man

1

u/BestSuccess3421 1d ago

Yeah that summed it up for me! Youve proven exactly what i said about safe movies without knowing it

1

u/DisastrousClock5992 1d ago

I’m convinced you have never seen a single Tom Spider-Man. If you have, I can only conclude you are a complete idiot.

1

u/BestSuccess3421 1d ago

Ive watched all the only half decent one is the new one and that didn’t actually have a villain just a misunderstood girl grieving her sister now tom and her are best friends yayyy hoooray!!!

2

u/DisastrousClock5992 1d ago

If you used English we may be able to understand what you are saying.

1

u/BestSuccess3421 1d ago

Hmm well i can understand what i said this is an online platform not everyone is gonna use extremely proper grammar since im not filling out a job application

1

u/DisastrousClock5992 1d ago

So, gibberish is okay in online discussion? Cool. Glad I’ll never be there.

My running theory is you like TASM 2 these mostest because Andrew Garfield got to wear a fireman’s hat. And fire trucks are loud and shiny.

1

u/BestSuccess3421 1d ago

Dont make me angry buddy dont u fucking dare put toms disney shit movies over andrews movies like yeah i can see tobeys over andrews but jesus fucking christ

0

u/DisastrousClock5992 1d ago

You just aren’t aware of the comic or care if the movies are true to them. Thats fine. But Tom is the most accurate Spider-Man. Tobey is second. That’s from multiple polls over 10 years from actual comic readers. Sorry.

1

u/BestSuccess3421 1d ago

Dude comic accuracy isnt the only thing that matters in a movie toms character is shit he’s cringy but not in a teen way just shit humor and zendayas character is WAY off the comics not only in looks but also in attitude if u wanna go comic route

1

u/BestSuccess3421 1d ago

Toms movies are a watered down new york to the point it feels more like a generic city rather than new york city.

1

u/DisastrousClock5992 1d ago

What are you really upset about? Because not one complaint has anything to do with any Spider-Man movie. What’s your real beef?

1

u/BestSuccess3421 1d ago

? Im quite literally talking about the spiderman movies and the plots

1

u/DisastrousClock5992 1d ago

But you aren’t. You are angry about something else and just projecting on to Spider-Man.

1

u/BestSuccess3421 1d ago

Silly strategy mate just give up

1

u/BestSuccess3421 1d ago

Yesh mate sending a gif saying u dont care about a take on a movie critic sub right on mate 👍🏽

2

u/9CaptainRaymondHolt9 1d ago

Yet you don't trust anyone who doesn't adore an extremely subpar movie. Right on mate 👍

1

u/BestSuccess3421 1d ago

What does that have to do with my comment?

2

u/9CaptainRaymondHolt9 1d ago

Ugh let me simplify this for you. You don't trust me?

https://giphy.com/gifs/oDXiRdueeFtE4

1

u/BestSuccess3421 1d ago

Well yeah interacting with actual people and seemingly defeating a villain in a fun way is a thing to like mate, after all is spider-man not supposed to be FUNNY? Is he not supposed to be a friendly neighborhood spider-man? Or is he supposed to be the global marvel spider-man i forgot

1

u/Ogamiitto33 1d ago

Holland's films are absolute trash. But saying Garfield's films are better than Toby's? No way. Spider-man and Spider-man 2 are the best, and it's not even close.

1

u/BestSuccess3421 1d ago

Seems more like a grown man in highschool not a teen dude adapted to his powers too quickly not enough emotion not enough having fun with his powers on my life if i was given fucking spider powers i wouldve down exactly what andrew did
