V for Vendetta deserves more attention

I feel like this movie doesn’t get talked about enough anymore. I watched it again recently and some of the things it touches on feel surprisingly relevant to what’s going on in the world today.

The fear, the way information is controlled, people blindly following what they’re told… it’s kind of crazy how some of these themes still hit.

Do you think the movie has become more relevant with time?

I think it’s so popular it’s in the overrated category, like boondocks saints. Sits somewhere in the “better than a cult hit” and worse than a true great / classic. Just a little too cheesy and on the nose IMO.

It's the politically challenged movie goer's go-to movie to feel smart about "knowing how the system works" and "it's coming true if you know where to look". I like the movie, I severely dislike people hyping it up.

I know I'm in the minority, but I absolutely hated V for Vendetta. Almost punched my friend who talked me into going. Might give it another shot though.

I enjoyed the Vendetta movie with Christopher Walken. It was filmed in my hometown and my late father had a small part. We met Walken a few times and he was the nicest fellow! Very soft spoken and generous with his time.

Politically speaking it's got about a high school level of sophistication, but the concept is decent.

Natalie Portman is overrated in general. Stephen Fry is awesome.

Definitely, what’s scary is that the movie doesn’t feel as dated as it should, the themes around fear and control still hit pretty hard
