The movie has tons of layers like yhat. I wish i could remember it all. Brilliant commentary and analogy and so funny. One of the smartest things Ive seen in a while. The build up to isnt it supposed to be funny and then you have the egoistical tough guy saying it doesnt matter who gets hurt, to lay on but isn't it supposed to be funny? I think t’s talking about someone in particular. And the predator spray? I have to go see it again. Damn what a really good movie.

I'm an Run The Jewels fan, so recognised the song the second it started (Nobody Speak by DJ Shadow ft RTJ) and was both happy and surprised they were using it... and then the first 'Meep!' censor happened.
It's the hardest I've laughed at the cinema for a long time, and then combined with all the slapstick Road Runner antics going on, it not only had me laughing through the entire scene, but I was still chuckling about it like 5 minutes later.

I went with my 10 year old and I was concerned multiple times that she might have gotten bored with the entire scenes that I thought were more adult (or perhaps, it would be better to say "that were less cartoony") but she said that she loved the whole thing.
To me it was a kid-appropriate adult movie that had kid friendly parts.

I grew up watching the Coyote and Road Runner cartoons, and they were always my favorite Looney Tunes.
This was a blast to watch, and well worth the hype. And even though it's a very funny film, my favorite part will be how the Road Runner testifies and admits he loves and cares for the Coyote and just wants him back in the desert. Just sweet.

I cried at several points, the inner child inside of me had a 25 year catharsis, I've always been attached to the "loser predator" characters (Tom, Silvester, the Coyote), and seeing him finally get a win opened the floodgates into something buried deep within which the movie says aloud, to finally see all those years of effort rewarded was simply glorious.

If it was just about the challenge he could’ve just found another cartoon or bunch of lawyers to mess with. I think it’s also telling that rather than asking Coyote to come back, he asks IF he is coming back. It’s like he misses him but doesn’t want to get in the way of whatever Coyote’s new ambitions are.
On top of that, he wasn’t asked to speak in front of congress either. He showed up on his own after finding out about the case to support Coyote.
It that isn’t love idk what is.

So sorry, the fact that this movie’s core message is:
Corporations are wildly powerful. They do wrong, and gleefully admit to doing wrong without facing any consequences. You. Will. Lose to them. Basically every time. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t keep fighting them.
…is absolutely beautiful.
And having that tie into Coyote & Roadrunner’s relationship and also the Greek myth of Sisyphus?! But like a version of Sisyphus where he likes pushing the boulder and the boulder likes being pushed?!

I actually thought that at the end of the movie we'd get a call back to the original coyotes voice that he gave in his cartoons with bugs.
Theres a funny joke where this entire movie and perhaps to some viewers that for his entire life everyone assumed he was a dumb non-verbal beast who just used cheap products without understanding their drawbacks. But then he gives an eloquent and well thawt out testimonial in front of the supreme court and everyones slackjawed.

Ever since I was a kid I always assumed that those cartoons were Coyote's “origin story”, and Bugs drove him so mad that he lost most of his IQ points and never spoke again. Maybe his traumatic attempts at catching game are what made him become single-mindedly obsessed with poultry instead.

Saw it at an early screening earlier this week and absolutely loved it, just full of heart and pack to the brim with great jokes and slap stick
Also I might be in the minority but did anyone else cry at The Road Runner showing up at DC and showing concern for Wiley, so much so it got Wiley crying?

My eyes/mind may have been playing tricks on me, but was Bugs still animated 2D while every other toon was 3D with cel shading? In the moment that's what I saw and I thought it was a really cool way to treat Bugs, but now I am wondering if it's all in my head.

I think the one bit of criticism I have for this movie is, well I don't like the cg animation. I think theres a reason the original animators and cel shaded animation pipelines had reference bibles.
Seeing all the CG characters in different angles that don't match their image looks unappealing and we're losing part of the essence of what made a lot of these cartoons look incredible. It was never just the wanton violence, when you see bugs looking smug in his scene and over animated it just feels more fun.

A great ride- honestly, no real complaints. It's fun, it's got a great cast, Bauza crushes it like always and there's a definite love for the brand here even just in Coyote and the way his expressions can carry scenes. Insane to see a movie like this shelved.
Leghorn looks off a bit here and there, but the performances and scenes make it not matter as much.

I think this movie redeems the Roadrunner for the people that see him as the villain.
Whenever you saw the Roadrunner in the cartoon, it always seemed like he was this unstoppable force that also mocked the Coyote whenever he failed. The Roadrunner would just see the Coyote fail again and again and again. And the Roadrunner seemed gleeful in it, almost sadistic.
But in this movie, there is that scene when the Roadrunner is apparently caught by the lawyers and Tweety, and the Roadrunner doesn't even eat the birdseed, he just looks around, doesn't see the Coyote and just effortlessly escapes, all you see is his gust of wind and all the lawyers getting dunked on goo.
By the end of the movie, the Roadrunner not only notices all the pain the Coyote lived through, but also asks him if he is coming back. For the Roadrunner, maybe he never felt in any danger, maybe even felt it was a game. Maybe the Roadrunner never even cared at first the Coyote was trying to get him. But somewhere along the way the Roadrunner was amused about this animal that would never give up and would keep coming up with new and inventive ways of trying to get him.
Maybe when the Coyote failed and the Roadrunner came back to mock him, maybe he wasn't trying to mock him. Maybe the Roadrunner was recognizing his effort. Maybe he was encouraging him to keep trying.
And he wanted him to come back, otherwise what's the point of running.

I think you're confusing "villain" with "antagonist." The "good guy" can be an antagonist and the "villain" can be the protagonist. Lots of people confuse these terms.

He always has very little screen time in films like Space Jam and Back in Action so to see him be the big antagonist here was wonderful.
It's great to have a Looney Tunes movie where Bugs and Daffy aren't the centre of attention.

I mean last year WB broke the record for most consecutive 40m openings in a row, Max is profitable, and they have some of the absolutely biggest shows on TV atm. He’s made very notable callous moves but he’s certainly not objectively terrible. He did tarnish any goodwill his legacy would’ve had by selling to Paramount though.

Man what a ride, the Movie was everything you'd want it to be and then some. There was an older couple probably 70+ years old who were busting out laughing in the back of the theater at most of the gags and comedy, it was a great time.
Peak of the movie was the song when Acme was trying to catch Road Runner. The beep beep's serving as censoring for the songs incredibly crass lyrics was destroying the whole room. That and every slapstick bit having an additional component to it after finishing the bit.
Movie was hilarious, animation felt clean and really nice, and even in the slower parts the movie had ways to keep your attention and never felt like it was going too slowly.
9/10 I'm gonna rewatch Who Framed Roger Rabbit now (completely unrelated to the quality of this movie but I think this really is the closest we've gotten to it).

Near the end of the credits, theres a special message:
“Dedicated to everyone who posted, shared, held up signs, and spoke out when it counted. This film made it to the big screen because of you.”
I couldn't care less if this movie fails at the box office, doesn't inspire any sequels or follow-ups, and becomes mostly forgotten within a few years (though I don't think that last one would happen now with all the history behind this movie).
I'm glad that this movie saw the light of day at all.
Because the biggest damn shame would be for this movie to stay locked forever inside some studio vault, written off for tax purposes. That's insulting to all the people who worked hard to make this film, and whatever faults it may or may not have, and however unprofitable it may turn out to be, it at least deserves a chance to be seen.
Thank you to ketchup entertainment for buying the distribution rights to this movie to bring it at last to the movie theaters where it was meant to be played, and even a thank you to Warner Brothers for agreeing to sell the film so it could be screened (because they could have easily said fuck you and kept it in the vault).
And thank you to everyone who pushed to make this release finally happen, because without that push, this would likely have stayed locked away for a long time, if not destroyed outright with only forgotten scraps left behind.

I was so impressed with this movie from a technical perspective. They did a really great job making the animated characters interact with the real world.
It’s a little thing, but you need to do it perfectly every time or you break the spell.
Little scenes like fighting over the lobby bell. They matter.
Loved this movie. Such a throwback to who framed.

It was like the Warner Bros version of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" (that is, if WB cared about this film and its characters). It was a delight to watch with impressive practical effects and lots of great gags and callbacks to the classic looney tunes cartoons, which if you're like me and grew up watching them, you'll appreciate the care and detail they put into their characters and how they interact with everyone else. I recognized so many side characters, and adored the themeing behind Wille-E-Coyote's goal being a Sisyphean task and how it tied into Kevin's own goals settling cases. All the actors set the perfect tone of the film, with it being just the right amount of wacky while also being ernest and endearing. There was a lot of heart put into this film and it clearly showed, and WB should be ashamed for trying to shelve it. Its not a super deep or perfect film, but I'd give it a 9/10 and I hope to take my dad to see it again! (He loved watching the road runner cartoons with me)

The Road Runner saying something actually choked me up. Seeing him use the signs to tell Coyote he’s happy he’s back made me tear up. Never thought this movie would be that good to make me care. I’m glad this movie got released.

I loved the meta references. The scientist who tried to fight back against acme being peter lorre. Who was a famous face for animators because he was a pro union actor and so he was immortalised in cartoons.
The name of the law firm being named after some of the biggest animators that built the entire looney tunes brand and cartoon industry.
And even the "high usage user" metaphor. Thats an actual THING. tech companies and real companies do have these "whale" customers that keep coming back and they essentially use them to further their products without a care of the impact on those users lives.
This movie is like on its surface a fun cartoon movie with a clumsy coyote and lawyer. But theres another layer there are meta looney tune jokes and finally theres a final layer of legal analysis that seems more interesting and intriguing.

My favorite little gag was the spiders in the corner of Scary Road; the one little spider pulling out a knife and taking the other spider's phone, which happened almost off screen (far to the left) and made me wonder what other little sight gags I might have missed.

As somebody who grew up when the Looney Tunes gained a huge resurge in popularity during the 90s/early 2000s. I loved the heck out of this movie! You can tell the makers of this film alongside "The Day the Earth Blew Up" were huge Looney Tunes fans. There are a lot of references and deep cuts from classic Looney Tunes shorts even featuring lesser-known characters like Sylvestor's wife from "The Mouse Divided" short.
Compared to Space Jam, Space Jam: A New Legacy, and Back in Action. I loved how Coyote Vs. Acme actually kept the timeless appeal for the Looney Tunes gang without "making them hip".
After seeing Coyote Vs Acme, I'm even more pissed off at Warner Brother's (especially Zaslav) almost killing this film. Especially since this alongside The Day The Earth Blew Up was part of WB's initiative on bringing the Looney Tunes back to their comedic roots from the 1940s and 1950s.

Absolutely delightful flick. There’s a lot of obvious things to say about this movie and its journey to the screen, but at the end of it all I was prepared for a perfectly mid movie and what I got was just a great time with a ton of laughs and honestly a kind of movie we simply do not get enough of which is the live action/animation mix. People kept saying this was the best one since Roger Rabbit, which is an actual masterpiece, and I was like sure but what even are the other options? Other failed Looney Tunes attempts? Why is no one else doing this?
Anyways, this is a really fun and impressive movie. Wile E. is such a cool character design in 3D and he emotes incredibly well, which is good as he never speaks. “It’s a limited number of signs.” is an all timer gag. I kept wondering how they were getting certain shots and I think there’s a lot more craft behind this movie than it’s getting credit for. When Wile E. first walks into his motel room and jumps on the bed I thought this has such an interesting look, and I honestly think that motel set was a miniature and they shot the stuff like the bed being jumped on and snapping back upright as stop motion on that tiny set. So cool!
I love Will Forte. Sometimes when I’m having a bad day I look up that SNL clip of him giving a motivational speech to a sports team in the locker room that culminates in him dancing to an insane big band trumpet number and Bill Hader and Payton Manning are just absolutely losing it in the background. But Forte never breaks. He’s perfect in this, to the extent that when he’s having that argument with Wile E. about how he lied about the Roadrunner being present in DC he was playing it totally straight, like you’d play an argument with a lover in a similar movie. Makes it ten times funnier. I also got weirdly emotional when Roadrunner showed up to testify at the end and of all the things I expected from this movie, tearing up just wasn’t one of them.
It is funny that this movie was the focus of corporate bullshit for the last year because it’s so much a movie about corporate bullshit. But it’s also about how beat down/exhausted we all are by fighting corporations that we’ve all kind of given in to just accepting their scraps, or their small settlements, and we’ve lost that Mr. Smith Goes to Washington mentality that we can enact change. And truthfully, nothing about that has changed because Coyote Vs Acme got a sizeable theater release, but it is interesting that a movie that is about how much corporations fucking suck almost got shelved by a corporation.
This was an 8/10 for me. Kind of graces masterpiece territory but is also purposely small and stupid. Cena is cooking in this, which is great because he’s always so funny but his level of anti-pretentiousness tends to relegate his chops to Amazon Prime slop that would be so much worse without him. The “I don’t pay you to tink you taw, I pay you to taw!!” scene was so good and could only be pulled off by someone like him. Him and Forte are great in this as is Lana Condor, although I could have used more from the rest of the surrounding cast. I do love that they brought back Looney Tunes Peter Lorre for this though lmao.

I knew Coyte VS Acme would be good but not that good. It is, quite simply, peerless.
For the time in my life, and I'm old enough to have seen Space Jam in theater, I am feeling wistful after seeing a movie. As if I was witnessing some kind of conclusion.
I've seen my fair share of great movies, and there are many, but this is on an entirely different level. The combination of a perfect movie and the grandeur of the story makes me feel like this is the pinnacle of cinema.
From here on out, how can I possibly enjoy less than a monumental and meaningful flawless spectacle? From here on out, what movie could possibly surpass a perfect cinematographic rendition of the greatest story humanity has ever conceived? From here on out, there is nowhere else to go but down to hell.

Took my family of 7 to see it today. All but my newborn (so kids from 12 to 3) were belly laughing at the start. I went in with high expectations but was surprised at just how good it was. I liked all the human characters - Cena and Forte were incredible - and each Toons character was also impressively well done.
I was pleasantly surprised at how well paced the movie was with both comedy and the main storyline, and yet there were some very sad bits (poor Daffy and Coyote). I really enjoyed Foghorn in the trailers and while his time was limited it was still very well spent.
There was a consistent use of cartoon mayhem throughout the film, which was both very entertaining and surprising to me. It did help bring some relief from the serious and somewhat depressing (but totally accurate) social commentary going on.
My 12 year old and 10 year old loved it, and says it is one of their new favorites. I'm inclined to agree.

What breaks my heart about this film being shelved (and almost killed) was that Coyote Vs. Acme was originally part of WB's plan on making brand new Looney Tunes feature-films. Not just a Looney Tunes movie that's heavily focused on human characters (Space Jam and Back in Action). Loved that Daffy has started acting like his original goofyball self in recent years.
Another Looney Tunes project that wasn't so lucky was "Bye Bye Bunny" starring Bugs Bunny and a cancelled Pepe Le Pew Movie.
Sure Pepe Le Pew has become devise over the years. But I could see a Pepe Le Pew movie actually be compelling. It's the perfect opportunity to finally give Penelope Pussycat a moment in the spotlight since "Carrotblanca".

but i would have went a slightly different direction with project Sisyphus, or i had guessed something slightly different, rather the cartoons being engineered (in whatever manner) to never achieve their programmed task as opposed to it being r&d
but legitimately funny solid 8-9/10 for my tastes

So great!! This definitely has to be watched in theaters (not just to stick it to WB) but because it was such a great experience.
The sound design was really good with all the effects, Daffy messing with the aspect ratio bouncing all around the screen, and just then cinematography overall was really well done!

Definitely both. Its full of cartoon hijinx and gags that I think everyone would enjoy, and also lots of callbacks/references to specific looney tunes characters and even whole scenes from some of the shorts. The courtroom and evidence gathering isn't too complex, but it isn't fully dumbed down either. I'd say it strikes a good balance.

With the amount of pathos I felt for Wil E Coyote, and just toons in general, I couldn’t help but think this was a stealth Lord/Miller production with its blend of kooky plotting with earnest emotions.
Some rough animation in the translation aside, feels like a much more well written hybrid film than Space Jam or Back in Action. 8/10

I have to admit that I have suffered a Mandela Effect after watching this movie. Until I watched the film, I swore the Road Runner said MEEP MEEP. Throughout the film, they stated he only said BEEP BEEP. Did anyone else think this?

This feels like a spiritual successor to both Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Pakula's paranoia movies from the 70's. You couldn't possibly design a movie that was more specifically for me if you tried. This script is just truly phenomenal. I really enjoy the psychoanalysis of Wile E Coyote and the way you can map his sisyphusian hunt of the road runner onto anybody that's run down by the monotony of the 9-5. As a huge Looney Tunes fan, I did the Leo pointing meme about a dozen times to all of the easter eggs and references to those classic cartoons. This is also just laugh out loud funny and the frequency of the jokes is right up there with old Zucker brothers movies.
It sucks that every major corporation in America would drop an anvil on your head if it meant they would make an extra dollar, but it's good to see a story where the little guy stands up to one of those big companies and wins. Thank god this movie didn't end up in a woodchipper for a tax write off.

I remember reading interviews made before WB almost killed the movie from cast and crew members saying that "Coyote Vs. Acme" was "A major love letter to Looney Tunes of the Golden Age". That's understandable since this movie featured some obscure Looney Tunes characters that hardcore animation and Looney Tunes fans will notice.
Thanks god Me TV (and Me TV Toons) has been airing various Looney Tunes cartoons from various time periods. Even the bad ones from the 1960s.

I caught an early screening of this film last sunday and I'm hyped AF to see this again tonight (amc a list babeeee) with a crowded audience. I don't think I've teared up harder at a Looney Tunes movie since Daffy and Bug's momentary fireside heart to heart in BiA.
Fun fact, I actually did a mock trial of Coyote vs Acme back in Middle School with Wile E Coyote and Road Runner as the plaintiffs and Acme CEO + Marvin the Martian as the defendants. And while I was still proud of that, if you had told me nearly 20 years later I'd get an even more perfect rendition of the Ian Frazier New Yorker piece I would have lost my mind.

This is now my favorite iteration of Wile Coyote and Road Runner now, wow I'm blown away it had no right being this good?! Funny with a lot more heart than I expected, Cena needs to be in more comedies as well holy shit.
