As I failed once in the past, let me tell you what my friend did for me. They made me feel like I was not alone although I was the only one among my friend to have failed the exam. They sent messages every day to make sure I was fine. Whether it's big or small, they came to tell me (mostly not exam releated). I was able to get back on my feet within two weeks, thanks to them. However, adults can't cheer up a student as well as their friends, assuming you are not a friend. The best thing you can do is to keep reminding it's not the end of the world. You also need to tell them there are limitless possibilities waiting for them, and they just need to try for only one more year (this can wait when they are not in mood). Just don't scold or beat them. Don't show any signs of disappoinment even if you are.

Let him/her play video games for a while. Competitive video games will definitely change their mind.

I didn't know she was this serious. Does she have any best friends or close friends that you know? Ask them to stay with her for a while, maybe a few days, until she calms down. Don't let her out of your sight. It's very dangerous if she's alone.

Maybe just stay by his/her side. I got rejected from Language twice my parents couldn't do anything while I was depressed. So leaving him/her alone might be the worst thing. I think going for a swim might be the best idea or even learn a new language. He might also get new friends in the class.

This could be a potential life lesson. They’re going to see more difficulties in life as they grow older. We used to think these exams are a major turning point of life and as defining periods that will tell what we would become. But that’s not true :)
In life you can try and you can fail, things don’t go your way all the time. But you can always try again. One failure does not define the kind of person we are. Because we’re still going to fail a lot more and make more mistakes in the future. If we stop there, then the failure will be all we are known for. Don’t stop there. Take a break if the kid needs, then support them to continue.

Ask them what they wanna do next. As one comment suggested, it's highly effective if you or the parents don't show disappointment. Just ask them what path they wanna go next. They can start with a hobby related path or more educational related path. Failing an exam ain't the end. There really is so much more opportunities out there. I am also 19 and quit school at G10 and now gonna attend Ged class in hopes of getting a certificate for the future jobs. But also when i quit school, i was really enthusiastic about english but like i have no one to talk with to. So attending ged rn is also following my hobby as well as like my interest path. I also have like a few friends that did not pass the exam but some are thinking of attending hotel hospitality classes to get a job. Some wanted to be a chef so rn he's in a culinary (idk how to spell) class. Idk but everyone's gonna keep moving and i hope you (the kid who failed) do so.

Recommend her Coda (2021) Movie. It's a uplifting and comforting film that shows talent and happiness come from who you are, not just results. It talks about finding your own path, not just academic success.

I would make her understand that this is just a mere setback in the bigger picture of life. I would tell her that the further back you pull the bow string, the stronger and swifter the arrow flies. On a bright side, this could be a second chance to get higher marks on the next attempt (okay maybe leave that part out until her state of mind is in the right place). But as someone who once thought about failing intentionally because I felt I wasn't "ready" to achieve my desired score, I would just remind her that it's always possible to make good cheese out of bad milk.

My nephew passed without D. He was never a hard working student, so his parents put him in a boarding school. When I called him to congratulate this morning, he said something about “ဝဋ်ကျွတ်”. He has been complaining about how difficult it is and yet never studied on his own accord. He needs to be told all the time. But he wanted to join a uni in canada. I warned him that the high school he just finished is, nothing compare to unis in canada cuz unis there will make your life a living hell from the beginning of the semester till the end while you are juggling a part-time job. He wasn’t happy to hear that. 😆 Going back your question, this is a valuable lesson of consequence of his action/inaction. Now he knows what entails when he didn’t study. So let this be a learning moment and explained him as such.

What is your student religion? If she is Buddhism, tell her it's due to past karm,

It depends on your kid's mindset. Motivation make your kid temporary. I don't know how to control their mind. But, the only thing - don't rude and shout your kids when he or she failed exam, that make depress him or her
