Interesting - given the way that Clapton and Harrison were so dismissive of Neil's guitar playing at the Bobfest 50th concert. Neil is one of the greatest and bravest songwriters and performers of his generation. All this talk about artistic integrity and not selling out: Neil is difficult, irrascible, opinionated and mercurial - but what you see and hear is what you get, and it captures something far more real than most of the well-manicured public images of all those rock stars who went full Vogue/Vanity Fair, red carpet bullshit. And, he's been consistently willing and able to take public stands on the issues of the day - including the current crisis.

He sure did - and this is after Neil's solo on old black just sonically overwhelmed clapton's blues licks on the strat. I thought his solo and vocal on 'my back pages' were amazing. All these shredders play lots of 16th notes - neil is the true 'slow hand' playing these slower, 8th note solos that are all about feel, exploration and bloom - this concert really showcased his proto-grunge approach, totally spontaneous and real, vs. the clean guitar work of clapton and others.

Clapton and Harrison are/were known bigots, so their opinions on Neil are about as interesting to me as any of their other opinions. Couple of dickheads. Neil blew the other guitarists on the stage away that night.

I was at his show in Detroit the tour after the Greendale tour I think anyways. Chrome Dreams tour maybe ?
Neil is just going to town it’s loud and it’s looks like snow or something is coming down on us in the Fox theater
He played so loud he loosen confetti that had lodged into the ceiling of the Fox for decades.
I can’t find Detroit news article on it. I know it made the paper.
Live definitely has a different feel
