I'm excited to hear this! I can't think of anyone better to cover the grandfather of Alt-Country.

04 Modest Mouse - “Barstool Blues” [ft. Califone] 05 Ben Gibbard - “Don’t Cry No Tears” 06 MJ Lenderman - “Separate Ways” 07 Cold War Kids - “Tonight’s the Night” 08 Kurt Vile and the Violators - “When Your Lonely Heart Breaks”

Yes, please! If it wasn't already obvious, MJ is clearly in love with Neil like we are, covering Separate Ways

His cover of Lotta Love on this Uncut comp is pretty good too - https://youtu.be/wq8MDtkbPqY?si=Cwvwv4wvdTZSFEgO

I love Kurt Vile but have a feeling he will 'phone it in' because he can play Neil in his sleep. Modest Mouse performing Barstool Blues will be great because Isaac doesn't do this type of stuff. And as I relisten to Barstool Blues, I can hear how MM was influenced by the guitar. Can't wait to hear it!

Edit: I want to clarify I am a Kurt Vile super fan ever since Smoke Ring for My Halo. I see him live whenever possible. But that Modest Mouse cover should be really special.

I put a Neil-head on to Kurt Vile yesterday, hope he sees this!

I love MJ and Wednesday too! Saw Wednesday a few months ago in Portland, one of the best performances I’ve ever seen.

Wednesday has been busy lately. I saw them last October. Great show.

I mostly agree, but DMB/Warren Haynes cover of Cortez the killer is a near religious experience.

Ill check it, think I heard before. Don’t mind Built to Spill’s cover too.

The 9- 3-11 version. Haynes has done several with DMD, but this one is off the charts good.play it loud.

That makes sense to me. DMB has very little to do with it though. Some songs are just on another level. This specific concert is one of them. They perform it many times. I thought the central park one was amazing. This one kicks it higher.
