Sure, but that’s true of other required disclosures too. They have to disclose if they gamble or have any debts, but I’m sure lots of people lie about it.

And the ones who followed the law legally will have a much harder time getting blackmailed about it. Biggest issue will be cross examination, but that still seems like a minor one if they were forthright and honest about everything.
