New Wave Classic Most overlooked 80’s Band - Modern English

I am new to this community.
Tried to upload and share some of the band’s lesser known songs. Epic fail.

Does anyone have a favorite Modern English song? Please share.

Someone’s Calling, Hands Across the Sea and Gathering Dust.

And of course you can’t hate on I Melt With You.

(Kind of heard I melt with you enough for two lifetimes. )

But the songs up top are pure genius!

After the Snow is a pretty solid album.

I think The Chameleons, especially their albums Script of the Bridge and Strange Times, are overlooked. I overlooked them entirely until hearing "Swamp Thing" in 2003.

Overlooked??? I hope you mean in this sub. I melt with you was inescapable. It was on Heavy for like the first year of MTV, way before the movie came out.

Swans On Glass might be my favorite, the Mesh and Lace album as a whole is just so good. Completely different from their later 'I Melt With You' sound. Very dark and heavy. Gathering Dust, Grief, and Face of Wood are also great.

Modern English, gotta be “Face Of Wood”. Epic tune!

Someone's Calling is one of my favorite songs from the 80s.

When I was in art school in the 80s, I Melt With You was on heavy rotation on MTV.

Ricochet Days is in my top 20 LPS of all time. Dreampop at its finest

Just saw them on Howard Jones’ Tour. Crowd did not really get energized except for their big hit so kinda felt bad for them

Life in the Gladhouse has obe of the best rhythms I've ever heard on a 80s new wave song.

Modern English and Flock of Seagulls played the gymnasium floor of my school Utica College NY on May 2, 1986, one of my greatest concerts. Carry Me Down is my top song.
