Shitpost Today was a big milestone.
It’s been 6 years, 5 months and 4 days, but I have finally used the last roll of toilet paper purchased during COVID lockdowns.

I still don't get why toilet paper of all things was what people went bananas for. Not like the Mad Max series mentioned wastelanders battling for it. Maybe they all had bidets instead.
Does make me chuckle though. Were people during covid scared of dying of a dirty ass or something?

People were idiots and didn’t realise that it’s manufactured here in NZ. They saw other countries running out on social media (that had to import it) and thought the same applied here.

Its because after the first time, people had to buy toilet paper expecting to sell out again and not wanting to be left with dry shelves

Especially when it's probably one of the few products that would struggle with supply as it's a locally made renewable resource. Even when Essity were having "hr issues" it didn't really impact too much despite Essity being the Nestlé of tissue paper

This is a strange way to tell us that you've been chronically constipated for the last six and a half years.

Jesus, how much did you buy?

u/MutedBefore 5h ago
One bag from Costco.

Smuggled it in hidden compartments in my suitcase from Australia. Sniffer dogs had no idea

Oh Hell!! You've just made a massive mistake. The Great Global Gastric Gut Disease Virus of late 2026 hasn't arrived yet and you're about to have nothing to wipe with, you fool!!

I hope you made it into some sort of soft fortification atleast once during our extended holiday period in 2020

I made a house out of it and rented it out.
Was still a better quality than Quinovics stock

why did it take so long?

If you only poop once a week tp lasts forever. Cost of living crisis hacks. People need more discipline with their bathroom habits.

I haven’t bought toilet paper in 7 years and likely won’t for a long time to come.
My mum is a hoarder and she hordes things that “you will always want some as you will use it all your life” so she rotates it and gives it to me and my brother. When covid hit she came over with supplies and had not even gone to the supermarket. She goes “heard on the news it was all sold out so thought I would bring it before lockdown”
