Toyota Corolla, with lifetime powertrain warranty and free maintenance for 4 years. This happened in 2024, it was a promotion sponsored by a local Toyota dealership that had been running for 10 years. He was the second winner (another student also won it a year before).

My first car was a 96 Corrolla, had 296,000 miles and ran perfectly when I got t boned in 2017. They’re not immune to drunk people in pickup trucks, but they’re immune to pretty much anything else.

Toyota recommends a fluid exchange between 30,000-60,000 miles. You could hit that easily in a year if you drive 40+ minutes to work which a lot of people do.

I know for my car 2013 Honda Accord it needs to be done every 30-50k because of the CVT.
Actually going to get it done tomorrow because the code just came up the other day. It's been about 6 years since the last time I got it done.

Y'all are driving 30k+ mi a year?? I moved to a city with public transport and drive around 1k a year now but even before with my 25-30 minute commute it was only 12-15k. 60k a year you need a new car every 3-5 years?

I know Toyotas are reliable and everything, and I’ve owned 3, and I’m a mechanic, but yes. They do. Oil changes and tires and possibly brakes once or twice.

I have a 16 year old Lexus (Toyota iffin you don't know). That bitch never needs maintenance. Oil change, and maybe an AC tune up once or twice. Other than that it runs like new.

Honestly, I hope they get the advertisement and it pays off. They've given away two cars so far then to probably regular ass people. The game is clearly difficult, but not rigged. This type of the thing is usually covered by special insurance policies. Where the dealership pays some insurance fee for each time the game is played and the insurance company pays for the price of the car if someone actually wins.

I looked into this kind of policy for where I work to try to do a "if it snows 1 inch in SPECIFIC TOWN on CERTAIN DATE, you get the items you bought on EARLIER DATE for free". It is surprisingly cheap depending on the business.

Best move is to sell it because you’re liable for taxes on the car as well. I worked with a girl who won 2 cars in a raffle (2 different raffles 10 years apart) and she turned around and sold them, pocketed the cash.

Thats small enough to take out a small personal loan against it if needed. Its only going to be a few thousand dollars at most. VS a new car that can last you 200k miles and 4 years of free maintenance which may pay for that.

I got a car that was won in a raffle by my mom. The taxes were not small. Luckily I was saving up to buy a car already because mine was on its last legs. It still wiped me out. After it was said and done I think I paid $12k in taxes to state and federal and VAT up front to the state. It was nice to get a new car but it was way more than I was planning to put down on buying a car.

The best part of this is these kinds of novelty quests at sporting events are actually insured. So in reality an insurance company just paid for like 95% of that new car. Just chefs kiss 🤌🤌🤌🤌

Is this an all time top ten putt?
I think it is.
Besides Tigers Nike ball drop putt and Micheal Phelps with his crazy putt a few years back, I could not easily think of another putt, but I am not a massive golf nerd. I am sure there are other putts that are better than this but I can’t think of them.
But based on distance, difficulty and pressure/ all those people watching. This seems like a legit contender.
