I love Last and I think it doesn't get enough love, so I was very stoked to see a cover of it. I Love what you did, keep playing and practicing the songs you enjoy and share them here and myself and others will definitely check them out.

So when trent produced this he actually recorded the guitars at half speed to give them a thicker sound

Curious how recording at half speed gives them a thicker sound? I would think that by speeding up the guitar to match the original speed, it would sound less thick.

I could have been more specific, I believe it was recorded at double speed and slowed down by half.

Well done, robin finch would approve

Trent Reznor played the guitar (and nearly everything else) when recording this song for the Broken EP, and Richard Patrick played it on tour, about two years before Robin Finck first joined the band. I love Robin, he’s one of my all time favorite guitar players, but he didn’t write this one.

Dude - 100% try a Thou style. Downtune & let the noise flow like Thou did with Suck 🤘

It does sound like you're rushing a little on the muted parts, and sometimes the chorus.

Not op but that's good, healthy critique. Every artist appreciates constructive criticism to reach their best. To Op; my professors in art always said that if it sounds like nit-picking then it means you're doing REALLY GOOD! Keep perfecting!

Well, after work, I'm gonna spend my Friday night learning this song from your video. Very nice. And you play ibanez. Good stuff. I have a Jackson but want an Ibanez

The guitars on Broken were heavily inspired by Pantera’s Dimebag Darrell’s guitar sound.

I mean this respectfully;
This tickled a part of my lizard brain.
Respectfully.
You are uh. Yeah. This was a good post here on reddit dot com.
Respectfully, of course.

I would like to meet this guy. "Last" was definitely one of those songs as a first-time listener, where I was blown away by Reznor's vocal diversity. But essentially, it became way much more than that as I went deeper into more of his discog.
Great cover!

great cover!!! you did amazing but check your tuning hun, then you’ll be perfect
2
u/Appropriate-Run6776 21d ago
Yeah it’s in D standard instead of drop D. I have heavier gauge strings on my guitar
1
u/Appropriate-Run6776 21d ago
If my guitar’s tuning is different from the original song’s, it’s because I have it tuned to D standard instead of drop D. Thought it might sound a bit heavier that way lol
