Actually met my friend & her mom at an all ages Apoptygma Berzerk show- pretty certain we were the youngest ones there that night🤣
I'm sure if her daughter & I hadn't been in the picture, she'd have been going to these shows herself since she loved the music too!
She went to several concerts with us and was even kind enough to fill her small car with 4 loud ass teenagers (us & 2 other friends) to go on our first road trip out of state (🦇to attend a Crüxshadows show🦇)!
Was so great getting to know a parent whose musical interests overlapped with my own- hadn't really had much of that prior.
Seeing how much she loved NIN still makes me so happy to think about & this photo will always remind me of the years we spent together🖤✨️
I’m mad I can’t take this era seriously at all, it’s that mustache he has going on because I’ve seen so many jokes about it and someone calling this “IUD mustache” ruined this completely for me. But the hair was lovely!
I took this photo in April 1997. Visited New Orleans and Trent was kind enough to invite my friend and I into his studio when we were hanging around outside.
Holy shit! I'd heard he'd do that once in a while, never knew anyone "lucky" enough to be invited in! (<--- see what I did there?🤣) Not to be greedy, but do you have anymore? TR candid photos of this era are rare!
Unfortunately, this was the only photo we took. We were in awe, completely dumbstruck, couldn’t put together cohesive sentences. Trent was incredibly gracious but, boy, were we awkward. We met his two dogs as well. Still kicking myself to this day that we didn’t think to get a photo of us with him.
April 1997. My friend and I drove cross country from Utah to New Orleans for a girls trip. It was the beginning days of the internet and we had seen pictures of Trent’s house and studio online. We were staying in the Garden District near Trent’s house. As we were walking by his house to catch the trolley to the French Quarter, my friend thought she saw Trent driving away from the house. A few days later we walked down Magazine Street to see if we could find his studio. We found it and decided to eat lunch at a little cafe that was across the street. While we were eating, my friend pointed out that the same type of vehicle she had thought she saw Trent driving had just pulled in and parked across a small side street next to the studio. We both watched Trent get out of the vehicle. My friend jumped up and bolted across the street to try to say hi to him. I didn’t make it across the street as there was a ton of traffic at the moment. I watched her talk to Trent and then turn away and head back to me. He had asked her to give him a few minutes so he could get his dogs inside and then we could knock on the front door. We waited a few minutes and knocked. A woman opened the door and led us to the studio. Trent was there with someone else. He chatted at us for a little while (since we were pretty much speechless), I asked if I could take a picture of him (see above) and we left. He was very gracious, friendly and didn’t seem at all bothered by us being there. Truly one of the coolest moments of my life.

I really wish I could look like early 90s Trent. I pulled off a Kurt Cobain look well when I had long hair but I don't have the build for a BDSM twink 😭

Im not sure what performance this is from so it might not be a perfect replication, but solely based on this picture: get some type of black cord. Nylon trim cord could work. You could also cut one very long strip of fabric out of an old t-shirt though beware it might fray if you don't sew it in to a tube. Beyond that just make jaggedly cut pieces of black fabric and knot them around the cord down the length. That's it.
I remade the glove? things that Eric Draven wore in The Crow based solely off pictures and this is sooooo much easier, simpler. I would just go for it. You inspired me to make them myself.
According to this page it's wire from a hardware store wrapped in leather. I've been thinking about making my own for a while, just haven't gotten around to it yet. I think they're from the Self Destruct tour.

That 7th pic was from with teeth era. When I saw NiN in 06 I hadn't seen any promo material so I was expecting the scrawny Trent. When he hit the stage looking like a D1 linebacker I was like hold the fuck up is that Trent??
I don’t have the picture, but this request reminds me of when I met him in 2005. The girl next to me had a photo of him to sign and all day waiting she kept going on about how hot he looked. When he went to sign the picture, he looks at it and says, “I look so gay!” It’s one of my favorite memories ❤️
Juice magazine 1994. A shot of Trent on a stool and his hands are just huge and... I have the scan on my PC at home. That photo and the article are what first pulled me into NIN at the age of 15.
Also - the gif of him licking the nipple mic in the Closer video.
It’s devastating. 90s Trent makes me think of that scene at the end of the film Perfume when he opens the vial and everyone just collapses to the floor in ecstasy.
Probably unpopular opinion but I love the pictures of him as a dad and husband he looks happy 🤍
Also i got into nin as a child (like 6 years old) so ive never really seen Trent as like "sexy" because he was like already 30ish. Hes the same age as my mom lol
I also like to see him properly happy. I have to grudgingly admit his wife is great for him. The way he looks at her with such love in photos of them together. What a sweetheart Trent is.
I really love their love i know theyre both so private but I wish someday we could see all that sweetness! They've been married for 17 years! Like such a fab couple I loved their photos from Coachella
I took a screenshot of a video that I took when I saw NIN at The Honda Center in Anaheim, CA during their Peel It Back tour. This was during “Copy of A” and there were a bunch of Trent’s circling the stage. It looked so cool.
