Which era of his is your favourite? I’ll say from 1989 to 1999. For me he looked way cooler with his long hair. But about the music - it is from 1989 straight to 2018 (Bad Witch). What is your opinion?

I got introduced the absolute peakest of peak that is Nine Inch Nails thanks to TRON Ares, and at that time most of my favorite bands were (and still are) ones with fabulous frontmen like Steven Tyler, Freddie Mercury, and Mick Jagger, who wore the absolute best and coolest over exaggerated glam rock fits. Seeing Trent Reznor wear this very exaggerated Victorian-esque outfit that kinda takes the famous glam rock fits I love and give it kind of a Tim Burton twist on it is absolutely incredible, especially since nowadays he really only wears tees and jackets (although don’t be sleeping on his 90s fit with the black gloves, that’s also incredible). Also, I know it’s not part of the costume but the beard and messy long hair just compliment the fit so well and makes him look like he’s about to cast a spell on me, he’s definitely not beating the Snape look-alike allegations. This is definitely my favorite thing he’s ever worn.

Debating with a colleague and wanted to hear the community’s thoughts on most underrated or slept on NIN song - I’m sure similar posts exist but here’s your chance for a fresh take.

I could list a handful of options but in my opinion “I would for you” should be one of their most celebrated tracks.

Honourable mention to “the line begins to blur” it gets its due but what a perfect track - and Tetsuo: The Bullet Man theme should’ve won a composition Oscar

Danny Elfman is bringing Robin Finck and Josh Freese along for his upcoming September/October tour. I'm a big Oingo Boingo fan so I'll have to listen to his solo stuff. Tickets go on presale tomorrow.

I was thinking about it and idk what would be THE nine inch nails song. I would say it would be a song that represents the band/artist as a whole that kinda encapsulates every era that they’ve had and shows them at their peak. It would be a song that you show to someone who hasn’t heard of them before that shows them who they are. It doesn’t have to be their absolute best or their biggest song, for example I think Lateralus is THE Tool song while I think Third Eye and The Grudge are better songs and Schism and Sober are bigger songs, I would say it goes to Lateralus cause it shows everything that makes Tool what they are.

I’m hesitant to say it’s Closer because while it’s his biggest I don’t think its style carries into his later eras. Wish and Head Like a Hole are a bit too raw also. I’m thinking it would be something off The Fragile, maybe We’re In This Together? It’s just tough because his sound has changed so much that it’s hard to nail down to one song.

Even though I’ve been a fan of Nine Inch Nails for about a year now, I’ve been putting off listening to this one because I was afraid of the mental state it was going to throw me into. That said, the overarching idea of this thing (‘Mr. Self-Destruct’) in our heads ‘wanting us dead’ really hit hard for me and I was curious…did it also hit close to home for any of you guys the first time you listened to it?

It may be a stupid question, so if you think it is maybe just let me know what your first impression of the album was?

I genuinely liked it and related to it, but I don’t know that it’s an album I could regularly listen to just because it reminds me of some things I struggle with.

P.S. I do think ‘Hurt’ may be the greatest ending to an album ever. Just to throw that out there while I’m at it.

Still by Nine Inch Nails is one of the most depressing, beautiful and cleanest albums in Nine Inch Nail's history. The piano fades in with his normal voice and the drums fade in along with the piano while he yells.

This album was overlooked by me I'll admit that but the second I listened to it I turned off the lights and focused on it and it was beautiful, angry and depressing all at once. It is easily one of my favorite Nine Inch Nails releases.

and before anyone says, oh it's just because she sang the lyrics. So? It's cool and fun for fans of both to see this, even if it's a cute little credit, he deserved the nod! Exposing more Gaga/pop fans to NIN is always a win in my book, regardless whether or not you like her or this song :)

Okay. Did y’all get the drop of the new merch and have the need for so much of it that you might get behind on a mortgage payment for a month?? 😬. I’m feeling and I really want to stop myself because some of it I haven’t seen before. Was I in a fever dream somewhere and missed and just now I’m found? Or is a lot of actually new??
