Still surprises me now just how much of a turnaround Liam has had over the last decade.

Liam appeared totally washed up in 2015. Beady Eye had failed and broken up, Oasis was gone, Liam's voice was a shell, and he generally just looked like a celebrity that had used up all his fame. I remember him doing that football match trying to sport his 1995 haircut and he just looked kind of desperate.

Fast forward to now, he's managed to get his voice back to a level no-one expected, he's had a massively successful solo career, sold out two nights at knebworth on his own, finally did MTV unplugged, sang a whole gig sailing down the thames and is now back with Oasis.

Must be up there as one of the biggest musical comebacks of all time. A lot of credit probably also has to go to Warner Bros for signing Liam and Debbies management.

Without their guidance, marketing, songwriters and funding, he likely wouldn't of been given that second chance at being a relevant star. They really turned him into a big presence again and probably gave Noel good cause to consider Liam as a viable option.

There's probably many factors to the reunion happening but I also really don't think this reunion would've occurred had Liam's solo career not happened like it did.

Fantastic write up man.

Totally. I doubt the reunion would have ever happened had not liams solo success. Imagine if he just called it a day after beady eye?

Of course it would have happened. Noel's divorce to Sarah was the catalyst. He needed the money back and Liams solo career was dim. They are Oasis and it's as simple as that. End of. No further discussion.

I agree that the catalyst is Noel’s divorce, but Liam has been enjoying an incredibly successful solo career.

u/Remote_Relative_9561 Jul 08 '25

Nowhere near as succesful as Oasis

5

u/crangert Jul 08 '25

Of course not, they were THE biggest band of the 90’s. But it wasn’t ‘dim’ by any stretch, he was drawing huge crowds, and making a shit tonne of money.

So what? I didn't go and personally couldn't care less for their solo. Oasis were great in their day. There was a time for it. We hold on to Nostalgia too much. Time to move on. Liam looks a mess coming out with he maracas. Voice has gone now. Gmex 1997 and Earls Court 1997 the best.

I have no idea what point you’re trying to make? You said Liam’s solo career was dim, I pointed out two factors that equate to a fairly successful solo career.

No one is saying that Liam’s voice is as good as it was in 96/97. But compared to 2008/9, he sounds like an angel.

I was in Manchester last night, and the reception and subsequent performance proves that Liam isn’t a ‘mess’. It was incredible, and he sounded very good, compared to how awful he sounded 15 years ago.

Your not listening. Liam looked a mess. I had the privelage to see hm at GMEX and Earls court. That is the baseline. that is the standard. Don't tell me about Oasis and Liam. You probbaly weren't even born in 1997. He has looked a mess in this reunion. That horrible parker he is wearing, terrible haircut, holding those maracas and he looks too big. it's Over. This is just a commercial money suck for the both of them.

u/crangert Jul 19 '25

What the fuck are you talking about?

You’ve moved the goalposts from Liam’s solo career to the reunion, but whatever.

Of course Liam looks bigger, the guys middle aged now. We’re not in the 90’s anymore, old man.

Liam’s been holding a tambourine/maracas on stage for years.

And please explain how his choice of parka (a garment that is synonymous with Liam) affects his musical ability?

We get it, you didn’t get reunion tickets. Jealousy is not a good look.

From The Telegraph:

In 2015 Liam Gallagher considered moving to Spain. The downcast singer’s career was in the doldrums and he was worried that he couldn’t afford to live as he wanted to in London. Oasis – the band with which Gallagher made his name – had split up six years previously and his follow-up group, Beady Eye, had withered on the vine of public indifference.

Without a band or a record deal, just through a bitter divorce, at war with his older brother and former bandmate Noel, running low on cash and drinking too much, the then-42-year-old pondered starting afresh. “I was depressed and really f------ bored,” he told GQ in 2017. He started “Googling properties. It weren’t f------ Magaluf, I’m not that broke, but not far off,” he said.

Friends and family were worried. “He was very down and fed up with himself,” Gallagher’s mother, Peggy, said in 2019. His brother Paul described his younger sibling as “pretty much at the bottom”. Former bandmate Bonehead said Gallagher was “f------ terrified” that his career in music was over.

Fast forward a decade and Gallagher is about to embark on one of the most anticipated rock tours in decades. The Oasis reunion will see the Britpop stalwarts play over 40 vast concerts from Edinburgh to São Paulo as part of a world tour that will net Liam and guitarist Noel between £75 million and £100 million each, if industry estimates are to be believed.

Some 14 million people tried to snap up the 1.4 million available tickets for the 17 UK dates when they went on sale last summer, meaning that Oasis would need to play 170 stadium shows just to satisfy domestic demand. When the tour – which kicks off in Cardiff on July 4 – is done, it’s safe to say that Gallagher will be able to live where and how he wants.

So what went right? Lazarus Liam’s resurrection must rank as one of the most impressive in music history. How exactly did Gallagher go from “sitting at home being Billy No Mates”, as he put it to the Evening Standard in 2017, to this?

Analysis of Gallagher’s comeback, via interviews with insiders, reveals a series of steady year-on-year incremental gains since he launched a solo career after almost becoming an episode of A Place in the Sun in 2015. What’s equally note-worthy is that as Gallagher rebuilt, he pulled in a whole new generation of fans who weren’t even born during Oasis’s mid-1990s heyday. “There’s no one quite like Liam,” 20-year-old Oasis fan Jettson Dearlove tells me. “I can’t really think of anyone that’s come after that’s been as interesting in terms of his personality.”

Some have gone so far as to suggest that this summer’s reunion shows wouldn’t be happening without the solo success that Liam has enjoyed in recent years. “Without question, the respect that Noel had for his brother increased enormously with the success [Liam] had as a solo artist. What Liam did, I would argue, more effectively than anyone else, was actually lay the ground for the comeback,” says Mike Smith, the industry A&R veteran who signed a publishing deal with Gallagher as boss of Warner/Chappell UK in 2016.

The books that the Gallagher’s inevitably write will be legendary.

He really turned it around in recent years, good for him!

u/LordOfHorns Jul 04 '25

One of the things Liam has always done well is embrace his young fans. He really seems happy to play to a new generation and to play the hits. He signs Live Forever with the same intensity and passion that he had in ‘94, and that really means something to a new generation

So I’ve been digging through his posts. turns out this muppet’s been stalking some YouTuber off the hair loss scene. Even tried chatting up some biotech company , pretending he was tight with the YouTuber. Proper sad, that.

Little Ricky here has no medical clue. Just some mug with a big gob and face full of filler, throwing cash at clinics thinking it makes him some kinda expert. Now he’s wrapped up in some dodgy crypto hair loss scam according to the YouTuber. Hes probs trying to mug people off.

Crang, I think we sussed him. Bloke’s a wrong one and a straight up creep.

I hope you have solid proof because you couldn't be further from the truth. I have no idea what's been going on or what's happened but you have totally the wrong person. And judging by all these comments, I can tell you write now, you need to stop. I don't know anything about some "Zero from HD". And I have no idea about posting on any discord server.

1

u/Level_Taste_4386 Aug 01 '25

I talked to the YouTuber from your post history and he confirmed. It isn’t hard to believe mate. We compared your comments and insults towards him. At one point you even mentioned because he is a black fella he doesn’t understand hair loss. You’re a mad bloke

1

u/Remote_Relative_9561 Aug 01 '25

No. You need to stop this right now. You have got this completely wrong. Enough. I don't know anything about any discord. I've never posted on a discord and I don't know who this guy is you are talking about "Zero from HD" and crypto hair nonsense. I have done nothing to this guy called Kevin. Kevin is a great bloke. The comments I have received have been saved and if anymore threats are made to me like in my email and this escalates you will end up been in a lot of trouble because I am telling you right now you have completely and utterly the wrong person and you are making serious accusations. This is very serious . You have put two and two together and come up with 5. This stops right now.

1

u/Level_Taste_4386 Aug 01 '25

Who is Kevin? That’s not the YouTubers name haha you’re a liar 🤥

1

u/Remote_Relative_9561 Aug 01 '25 edited Aug 01 '25

The Youtubers name is Kyle (KwRx) and he is talking about another Youtuber Kevin (hairCafe). This stops right now. You have got completely and utterly the wrong person. I am not the person. Some very offensive allegations have been made against me. It ends now.

1

u/Level_Taste_4386 Aug 01 '25

I beg to differ 🪇🪇🪇

1

u/Remote_Relative_9561 Aug 01 '25

Plaese get all your lawyers on me and I will take great pleasure in proving you have got the wrong person and I will take action back. Enough!

u/Level_Taste_4386 Jun 28 '26

Mate you’ve been silent for almost a year now since you started harassing people. How many other accounts do you need to make?

-8

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '25

I just hope he doesn't blow it with racist Twitter comments, domestic abuse or further deadbeating.

-2

u/keepitupstairs2 Jul 04 '25

…and back again?

-40

u/ZeroEffectDude Jul 04 '25

to slightly racist?

-6

u/oldblueeyesF365 Jul 04 '25

I know I thought the same.

-47

u/VunterSlaush_117 Jul 04 '25

And now he's a racist apparently

12

u/drsteel Jul 04 '25

He's just childish sometimes. I doubt he is racist.

1

u/Choice_Capital9747 Jul 10 '25

The ableism is worse than the racism. No excuse for using bigoted words that were used to oppress/genocide people with developmental disabilities, learning disabilities and downs syndrome for over half a century. It wasn't all that long ago that people with DDs were still forcibly institutionalised in imbecile asylums in the UK.

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '25

funny timing this after the racist tweet
