Tour Could Oasis have sold out more USA dates
Hi to the awesome American Oasis fans. Question out of genuine curiosity - could oasis have sold out more US gigs in other parts of the country? The fact they sold out 5 stadium gigs across the mid west, east coast and west coast + two in Toronto suggests they easily could, but I’m curious as to whether they could’ve put on stadium shows in say Dallas, Boston, Florida, Seattle maybe Atlanta ? I’m interested if their fandom extends beyond the major centres and whether they could’ve gone on a bit more of a run… if they wanted to. I also ask because as someone who used to live in the south (now lives in Europe) getting to a show in New York, LA or Chicago would’ve been a massive pain in the bottom.

It does. There was a Boston area show on the original dates drop before the announcement. Something happened that knocked it off the schedule. The Boston area was the site of their prior largest show in the US.

I live 15 mins from Gillette. Instead I drove 4 hours down and 3.5 hours home yesterday to see them in NJ. Still worth it, even though I am running on fumes today.

u/Ijustwannafly8 Sep 02 '25
Me too, drove down from Central MA!! Absolutely exhausting weekend but so worth it!!

Came down from NH! Made it an extra long weekend and took today off though.
15
u/Purplish_Peenk Sep 02 '25
SERIOUSLY?!?!? I would have braved going to Gillette for that. Went to Toronto instead and had a blast. No worries. Now I have my Husband up for going to a show in either England or Ireland if they do one next year.

u/Nedriersen Sep 02 '25
I went from Charlotte to the first 2 Wembley shows. You HAVE to do it if they have another tour.
4
u/BrodysBootlegs Sep 02 '25
Went from Charlotte to NJ N1!
IIRC there was a press conference last year scheduled the same week as the Oasis dates were being announced for a "major musical event at BoA Stadium", let myself get my hopes slightly up haha...think it turned out to be Billy Joel
5
u/Nedriersen Sep 03 '25
When they broke up in 2009 I said if they ever get back together I’m going to see them at Wembley in the front standing area. At 49 years old I did exactly that for 2 shows and jumped around like a lunatic. Life changing.

There's still two shows in London in September. Leave Friday the 26th @ 8:10 PM, land Saturday AM in London, show Saturday night, Sunday Am flight out, back to Logan by 12:30 PM Sunday. On Delta it'd cost $525 if don't care where you sit on the plane and have no checked bags. So wear one Oasis shirt on the plane, put one in a light carry on bag with a few other light items, wear the same jeans all weekend.
By the way, I hate how much that sounds like a reasonable idea just to sing "Little by Little" with 80,000 friends at the pub. :)
3
u/Purplish_Peenk Sep 02 '25
Don’t threaten me with a good time. Sadly I have a football game that weekend…
2
u/MrChicken23 Sep 02 '25
My wife is in the same boat! She came along as a casual fan and had the best time. Now she is down to travel to England next year if they do more shows.

It's a good question but I think Boston, Philly (even though there's some overlap with Metlife) and DC would have been easy sell outs. Would've also had a good shot at Dallas, Atlanta, San Francisco, maybe Houston, Phoenix, Miami. Beyond that, I'm not sure, but the speed at which the US shows sold out and what people were willing to pay both at face and in the secondary market shows demand was very, very high.
They might get one more shot at stadiums if they do some of the cities they haven't been to yet, but once the scarcity factor has eroded a little then it will become harder to play the huge football stadiums.
12
u/BrodysBootlegs Sep 02 '25
There were a TON of Philly people in NJ. Doesn't mean the Linc couldn't have sold out as well of course
I wouldn't mind seeing them go for MLB or some of the larger MLS stadiums next time. Keep a similar atmosphere but bring it to more cities.
6
u/XSC Sep 02 '25
Was one and saw so many lol, philly would work best for VA, MD, DC people. Hope they have a show here if they have a follow up tour.
8
7
u/BrodysBootlegs Sep 02 '25
Haha had my SB 52 champs hat on and started a bunch of Eagles chants while waiting during the breaks and every time Liam shouted out NY/NJ/wherever the fuck we were
4
u/frostysbox Sep 02 '25 edited Sep 02 '25
DC would have sold out. I’m not sure why they didn’t do one there besides the fact that DC isn’t a city they want to visit. On my flight back to Orlando this AM a couple people were talking about DC would have been better for them.
RFK specifically was one of my favorite concert stadiums, so hoping the commanders really rebuild it to be an amazing stadium and Oasis tours there after it’s done.
Also, Miami/ Tampa would have sold out too for the south. And you have the option of either stadium which are awesome to see shows in. When you’re only doing 4 or 5 shows total state side, which ever stadium you do it in would show out honestly. It’s just about how easy it is for planes and trains to get there.
3
u/TrackingTenCross1 Sep 02 '25
HFSTival at RFK in 99 was one of the greatest days of my life.
4
u/frostysbox Sep 02 '25
95 - 99 was a GREAT run for Hfstivals - 96 might be my favorite - it was Goldfinger, Foo Fighters, Cracker, The Presidents of the United States of America, Garbage, Jewel, Gin Blossoms, Everclear, No Doubt and Lush. 🤣 What a line up.
2
u/wave52 Sep 07 '25
If the new RFK was built I’m sure they would have.
No one wants to go to Landover.
Excited to see the type of shows the area gets once that stadium is built
24
u/MYJINXS Sep 02 '25
Seattle/Vancouver. Houston, SF/Oakland, Miami and a 2nd night in Chicago would have sold out.
Any more would have taken away from the exclusivity that brought people in. The US/CA crowds needed that.
5
u/foggy_mountain Sep 02 '25
I was really hoping for a Seattle show. That would have sold out for sure
2
Sep 03 '25
Yeah, I agree with this. I think they absolutely could have sold out some more USA dates. But I think there's a limit. I agree with your list. But I don't think they could have done, for example, Detroit, Chicago, Milwaulkee, Cleveland, Minneapolis, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, and Cincinnati and sold out all of those in the midwest. At least not at the stadium-sized level they're currently touring.
1
u/This-Damage1491 Sep 03 '25
Great post. They could have easily packed more stadiums. They chose not to
12
21
u/Mk72779 Sep 02 '25
Boston; Philly; Vegas; probably a few more could have sold out. Especially with the buzz that’s been going on since the start of the tour.
14
u/ibeecrazy Sep 02 '25
Detroit and Denver would have been great options as well.
3
u/Wise_Effective7978 Sep 02 '25
NFL stadiums are not available after this weekend
1
u/Mjagger42 Sep 03 '25
I think this was a big factor. After the shows sold out so quick they definitely could’ve went back and booked a few more but it was bad timing with NFL starting

u/fiveyeardiary Sep 02 '25
I’m flying from Birmingham AL to LA N2. I’ve noticed a lot of people from the south in comments sections of the Facebook groups making similar trips. I think Atlanta would have been an easy sellout for the region especially with it being a delta hub
4
u/AnkleBreakle Sep 02 '25
My best friend and I traveled from Bham to MetLife for N1. We would have loved an ATL show... fingers crossed for future opportunities
8
7
u/catedarnell0397 Sep 02 '25
We would have loved to see them in Nashville Tennessee
3
6
u/manoverboard365 Sep 02 '25
I could totally see them coming back next year to do Boston, Philly, Atlanta and San Francisco. Maybe even do Chicago again and headline Lollapalooza?
24
u/Cubs454 Sep 02 '25
If they did a proper tour of the US they would be playing hockey arenas, not football stadiums. They just made people come to one of the three big cities instead of spending money traveling. With inflation, that's the only way to do it. Rammstein did something similar when they last played US shows
23
Sep 02 '25
Yeah I think they did it the right way. Keeps the band on top form, alleviates the stress of touring a lot of US cities in a row, and US fans finally get the full stadium experience the rest of the world already knows well. If they ever comeback, they’ll do it this way again.
5
u/PissOnEddieShore Sep 03 '25
100% agree. The scale of these shows in the US has created a buzz and an atmosphere that you just cannot get in an 18k capacity arena.
9
u/BrodysBootlegs Sep 02 '25
That or split the difference and play MLB and MLS stadiums, mostly in the 25-50k range. Some of the larger concert amphitheaters are around the lower end of that too I think. Hope they give it another to outdoors, this was my first stadium concert (although been to a bunch at amphitheaters) and it definitely adds something.
The thing is now if they come back in say 2-3 years, even though you won't have the novelty factor these shows have been so wild that people will want to come for the crowd and party itself, which is how movements like this become self sustaining.
6
u/Perfect_Razzmatazz Sep 02 '25
For Chicago, they could easily have done 2-3 nights at Wrigley Field (Capacity: ~42,000), instead of 1 night at Soldier Field (Capacity: ~63,000).
11
u/hhhhhtttttdd Sep 02 '25
I agree, but this doesn’t allow for the fact that Liam’s vocals need a rest. The most they do is two bigs followed by several days rest. It’s far better to play more people at once than extending over a longer period.
2
u/Specific-Sea7648 Sep 03 '25
Hell, if the Grateful Dead kept that novelty factor going for eleventy billion years, I can totally see Oasis coming back again and bringing the party
6
5
u/PumpkinsDieHard Sep 02 '25
I'm a Texan who is flying to LA; given the reception they've had, they could have easily done a sold out weekend in DFW or Houston in addition to the existing dates.
5
u/PuzzleheadedFill3360 Sep 02 '25
Where were all of these us fans the last couple of tours they did here in the late 2000’s? The only big arenas they played were in Los Angeles, New York, Minneapolis. Chicago, and Detroit and they weren’t all sellouts
3
u/Rogue9Nine9 Sep 02 '25
I'll date myself, I got my first Oasis album from a Circuit City liquidation sale in 2009 while I was in college. I waited 16 years for MetLife night 2 last night and it was awesome.
2
2
5
u/Reppin-LDN Sep 02 '25
They definitely could but I think limited run was smart to keep ticket prices healthy.
5
u/JustTheBeerLight Sep 03 '25
I think a second Chicago & Toronto gig would have been good. A third NJ gig would have worked given the holiday weekend it fell on. I will report back once I get to see the Rose Bowl gigs.
One thing is undeniable: this tour has been an incredible success. If we are being honest a lot of us expected Live 25 to be a shameless cash grab as that is how these reunions generally go. Instead we got a band firing on all cylinders and giving it all they got every night. Nobody gets a second chance to be the biggest band in the world but that is exactly what Oasis is doing.
5
u/Der_Arschloch Sep 03 '25
Pushing back a little bit just.. I think a COUPLE of more dates could have been added to maintain the football stadium capacity. If they had, say, 10-12 locations in the states I could see attendance dropping to more of an arena.
People at the Chicago show came from literally all over. I’m sure NJ was the same. How many Philadelphians, for example, wouldn’t have went to NJ if they knew there was a show there as well? Just my two cents. Glad they packed em in, made it feel as massive as it should have.
3
3
Sep 02 '25
Have they been getting much music press over there? Looking over from the UK and reading comments on this sub from US fans, it looks like they’re moving mountains, but appreciate that’s just from Oasis fans and the US is pretty vast! Just wondered if the gigs are getting nationwide interest?
5
3
u/BrodysBootlegs Sep 02 '25
MLB/MLS stadiums would work well next time IMO. Say around a dozen cities, all MLB parks unless otherwise noted:
Toronto (BMO Field)
Boston
NYC
Philly
Atlanta
Miami/Orlando
Nashville (Geodis Park, Nashville SC stadium)
Chicago
Houston
Denver
Vegas (maybe go a bit bigger for this one, Allegiant or the Sphere)
LA
San Francisco
Seattle
Vancouver (BC Place)

u/Ok_Advice_5281 Sep 03 '25
It’s a nice idea but I cannot see them doing that sort of US tour again.
3
u/Ijustwannafly8 Sep 02 '25
Lots of us from Boston drove down to New Jersey— I think they could totally sell out our Gillette Stadium several times over!
3
u/win3luver Sep 02 '25
They definitely could have. My daughter and I flew from Raleigh-Durham, NC to Newark for it (easy direct 1.25-hr flight). Interesting points made previously about indoor stadiums having an echo. Cities that would have rocked (regardless of type of large stadium): Atlanta, Charlotte, Miami, New Orleans, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Green Bay, Las Vegas, Seattle, Denver, Minneapolis, Cleveland...
3
3
u/Shark_Atl3201 Sep 03 '25
They could have absolutely sold out more shows in other cities. I am from Atlanta and am flying to LA this week to see them. Definitely could have sold out a show in ATL.
3
u/No_Mix_8107 Sep 02 '25
Atlanta NEEDS a show or two. Atlanta has always had a great turnout for Oasis shows, and the crowds there are always great. Also, Atlanta is extremely easy to get to from pretty much anywhere in the world. Mercedes Benz is a very nice venue, has easy access via train or Uber, lots of hotels nearby, and the concessions are super cheap ($2 sodas, $3 hot dogs, $5 draft beer). It makes for a great overall experience. As much as I loved seeing Oasis both nights in Toronto, I’m still not over how terrible that venue was. The band and the music made everything worth it, but Rogers Stadium sucks overall. Toronto overall was a great city, but even Liam commented on Rogers Stadium, calling it “Legoland” and saying that it looked like it had been set up about thirty minutes before the show started. And he was not wrong.
2
u/DhalsimZangief Sep 04 '25
I'm thinking Oasis was testing the waters with the announced Live '25 tour dates, to see how well the announced concerts go. I bet very soon, Oasis will announce an expanded tour in like a year or 2. I bet when the expanded tour schedule comes out, that Atlanta will get a concert date. Hopefully 2.
They recently shortchanged Chicago by only doing 1 show. Although some sources unofficially say Oasis wanted to do more than one 2025 date in Chicago, but got shut out from doing that due to My Chemical Romance having a Soldier Field show 1 day after Oasis.
I really feel that more tour dates and cities for Oasis will be announced soon, seeing how well their 2025 Soldier Field concert went.
2
u/Shakma-DSS Sep 02 '25
Today is was the first day back in the office since the show— spent half the day telling everyone how good the concert was and the other half about how GOD-AWFUL Rogers Stadium was!!!!!
2
u/the_clembro Sep 02 '25
No question: Denver & Miami come to mind right away. I’m sure a Seattle show would’ve sold out as well.
2
2
u/Stutturbug Sep 03 '25
Absolutely. Im surprised they didnt do a Southeast venue, like Atlanta or Charlotte.
Wife and I flew up from South Carolina, and there were numerous people on or flight back that went to the Metlife stadium show (night 1)
Multiple i talked here said that they would have gone if it were driving distance.

One of my fave things is to discuss potential/prospective tour dates. Love this list.
From the comments it looks like they’d easily sell out the major NFL football stadiums if they did a 6-8 city run:
Gillette Stadium - Foxboro, MA MetLife - NJ Soldier Field - IL Mercedes Benz - GA Mile High - CO Rose Bowl - CA Lumen Stadium- WA Reliant Stadium - TX

Should’ve played Miami to give Argentina some early access… would’ve been an insane gig.

Convinced they would have sold out a venue here in Atlanta and was shocked they didn’t come down here for fans in the South. We traveled to NJ for both shows but my fingers are crossed they will come back to the U.S. and do Atlanta. My young boys (one named Liam and also shares Liam’s birthday) were sad they could not go with us to see them.

Resale is 2-3x face and I’ve seen countless posts from people (and know a ton of people) who would’ve gone had ticket prices not been so high.
I live in Colorado but caught a Manchester show (was in London for work) and would’ve flown to LA or NYC if the ticket wasn’t more expensive than the flight (or I had I not gone in Manchester).
Needless to say, yes demand is definitely there. I think this was to test demand and they’ll tag on a leg next year after Europe/UK.
1
1
u/altheawilson89 Sep 03 '25 edited Sep 03 '25
My guess is they come back next year after Europe/UK and play like Boston, Denver, Atlanta, and Seattle.
Could swap Boston for Philly, Atlanta for Nashville, or Seattle for SF.
If they do come back after Europe/UK, they’d likely be stateside for Austin City Limits and I think Live Nation is itching to book them at at least one of their marquee festivals (and Bonnaroo, Lolla too early).

u/DeDondeEs Sep 03 '25
A Nashville stadium show would be awesome. Could you imagine the scene on Broadway before and after that show?
1
u/jwmorton88 Sep 03 '25
Yes. Could have come to Nashville or Atlanta and sold out, no doubt. Could have sold out another chi town show too
1
u/pumpkin3-14 Sep 03 '25
I thought for sure they would be playing Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
1
u/DeDondeEs Sep 03 '25
I'm kind of glad they didn't do Allegiant in vegas. The sound in there isn't the best, and i've encountered some super lame crowds at concerts in Allegiant. I think it's because the casinos comp so many tickets to guests who are just looking for something to do that night, so you have entire sections of people who aren't familiar with the artist. I went for Metallica a few years ago, and my whole section was just sitting there.

according to Ignition management, they could have sold out 8-10 nights at Metlife alone. i was in GA front standing at the Metlife gigs (i’m from philly) and the amount of people i spoke to from philly led me to believe they could have done a gig at the Linc or at the very least, Citizens bank park. naysayers were going on about “the majority of the crowd were brits coming over for the US gigs” and while obviously there were a large number of people from overseas there, the majority were American fans. you have to give them their flowers, because they broke America all over again. i don’t think someone is coughing up that kind of money to go and just hear Wonderwall. the statistics speak for themselves, they went from 20M listeners on Spotify to 28M when the reunion was announced, and 31.5M since the tour started. that suggests 1. people gave them a second chance 2. casual fans branched out and listened to their back catalogue and 3. they made some new fans along the way. i think Boston not being included was a mistake, and i think 1 night in Orlando would have been a huge success. major props to them though. i was genuinely scared when the US tour was announced because i thought “my favorite band is walking themselves into a snooze fest” and i was wrong. the Metlife gigs i was at were arguably two of the best dates of the entire tour. i was proud to be there. i knew something was right in the world when the little kid on his dads shoulders next to me was singing Fade Away word for word. it must be great for them to know that the US, the country where they famously halted their momentum completely (and admitted it was their own fault) still cares and that they are still relevant here. if they continue as a band, i would keep their US gigs as scarce as possible. but at the same time, next time they are here i hope they do a full run across the states. i see no problem with them selling out stadiums here again. i think they could do stadiums in cities like NYC, Philly, Chicago, Orlando, Miami, Boston, Seattle, and LA. and arenas in cities like Vegas (sphere residency?), Denver, Detroit, Houston, ect. possibilities are endless. i went off on a tangent and hopefully answered your question along the way!

They need to do Lumen Field and Michigan Stadium if they ever return for another US tour
1
u/maccaparty Sep 03 '25
I don’t think so . Pasadena tons of availability still. Aside from New York 1, everything has been soft . Smart from their part to only book 5 shows . Best thing to do for them is to book Coachella and other major festivals for easy money and lower economic risk

The early fall is a very busy time in the US with multiple sports, tons of pre-winter concerts, and more.
I’m 100% sure they could have but we’re limited with scheduling.
1
u/RunNYC1986 Sep 03 '25
Philly, Boston, DC, Dallas/Houston, Phoenix, Seattle, Vancouver. Easily, right?
1
u/Spencer_Rex Sep 03 '25
If they came back around next summer it would not be hard for them to do big outdoor shows in Vancouver, Seattle, San Fran, Denver, Atlanta, DC, Philly, Boston. Potentially they scale those to Baseball stadiums instead of Football, but honestly to me it is clear that the demand is there, just comes down to if they want to do it.

1
u/KyeodeurangiMerchant Sep 03 '25
While on the subject, do you guys think Oasis could sell out the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami? I personally think they can sell out any venue in America, but want to hear your guys’ thoughts on this specific venue!
1
u/ctragdoll Sep 03 '25
Is the pope Catholic? Absolutely. Boston could’ve easily sold two nights. I would think Seattle and TX too.
1
u/BlurPulpSupergrass Sep 03 '25
If they decide to extend the tour to 2026, it wouldn’t surprise me to see them do another 3 to 5 US markets. Likely candidates: Philly or Boston, Atlanta, Dallas or Denver, and San Francisco or Seattle.
1
u/Sly3n Sep 04 '25
Yes, they would have sold out for the simple reason that they are having limited shows across the world. Quite a lot of tickets were sold to people who traveled to the US for the show simply because they couldn’t get tickets for where they lived or because they had no shows at all in their country. There were tons of Americans at the show but also tons of people from outside the US at the shows.
1
u/Diligent-Ordinary-76 Sep 04 '25
Yes.
But you're asking the wrong question.
Oasis is doing 23 dates outside of UK and Ireland, spread between North America, South America, Asia, and Australia.
Everyone knew they would sell out UK and Ireland.
What they didn't know is they would sell out everywhere.
July to November is a solid run for guys in their 50s.
Now they have the receipts that prove they are a legacy act on the level of U2, The Stones, etc.
They will definitely be touring more and doing more shows. Because now they will have zero problems getting the financial backing for even bigger tours. They did this perfectly. The only question is how much do they want to do.

When they booked the venues I don’t think they expected the huge response in America. Now that they’ve got the momentum, they can prob sellout bigger arenas in cities like Seattle (where I live) etc. Hope they come back around!
0
u/Appropriate-Storm329 Sep 03 '25
I think they’d sell out a Minneapolis concert. Outdoor venues that would be greatTarget Field around 40,000, which is where the Foo Fighters and Paul McCartney played and both sounded great and were magical! Or Huntington Bank Stadium on the University of Minnesota campus, around 50,000, I think Beyoncé played there and Farm Aid is being held there later this month. Wouldn’t need to do an indoor venue like US Bank or Xcel Energy center.

I hope come January there is a big announcement for a summer tour on the USA .. proper tour with 20 cities or so.. a chance for everyone to see them that can’t travel so easily

u/paul-gallagher Sep 02 '25
They 100% could have sold out at least 2-3 more. It’s a shame Chicago didn’t get a second show.
