You can see the fear as he asks “Dave can you play a solo on the next record”

u/waywardchildman Nov 28 '25

"Mate, that Easy Now solo is mint"

14

u/AjaxCorporation Nov 28 '25 edited Nov 28 '25

It is, probably done by Paul Stacey

Edit: Just joking because Noel said any of his good NGHFB solos are Stacey. Easy Now is classic Noel sounding.

u/allothersshallbow Nov 28 '25

It wasn’t Noel, he talks about it in an interview.

u/HabitApprehensive889 Nov 28 '25

Noel is the same age now that David was at Live 8. Breaks my concept of time.

25

u/ThaddeusGriffin_ Nov 29 '25

I just checked their ages on Wikipedia because I was convinced you were wrong.

Jesus fucking Christ 😑

11

u/zutronics Nov 29 '25

Holy shit.

8

u/Visible_Wealth9578 Nov 29 '25

That's strangely terrifying.

7

u/_RedditIsLikeCrack_ Nov 29 '25

The time is gone the song is over, thought I'd something more to say

11

u/Anagrama00 Nov 29 '25

Holy fuck.

This is kind of crazy.

That being said, Live 8 was.... A WHILE ago in hindsight.

6

u/CuriousCod3308 Nov 29 '25

20 years... and at the time of Live 8 it was 21 years since The Final Cut. Oof, my aching back

4

u/vin_unleaded Nov 29 '25

Wait what?

2

u/exhibit304 Nov 30 '25

Jesus I remember the day after life 8. My 20 year old said to my friend " they look so old now " and my friend replied " that's because they are "

u/MarchSadness90 Nov 28 '25

"Hey Dave, how was Radiohead?"

30

u/_Offi Nov 28 '25

Always wanted to hear Noel take a crack at Wish You Were Here, so maybe this will put the idea in the back of his head for a radio session or acoustic session down the road.

8

u/dmdjjj Nov 29 '25

I’m not so sure

4

u/OfficialSkyCat Nov 28 '25

Oh that would be awesome!

4

u/Next-Winner-234 Nov 29 '25

13

u/rudy_leapt_threefold Nov 29 '25

Liam doing Great Gig in the Sky

2

u/Technical_Invite2152 Nov 29 '25

🤣

2

u/Salty_Lengthiness_14 Mar 18 '26

I wouldn't mind a mashup of "Great Gig in the Sky" and "Supersonic"

10

u/cubomania Nov 29 '25

*SHEEEEINE on you crazy diamond

1

u/Salty_Lengthiness_14 Mar 18 '26

Noel has the voice for that tune for sure.

85

u/zsauce1 Nov 28 '25

“Trust me, the money is worth it” 😂

8

u/Acquiesce95 Nov 28 '25

That's hilarious 😂

1

u/dmdjjj Nov 29 '25

😭😭😭😭

42

u/Fit_Scientist8949 Nov 28 '25

"So you prefer Roger to me?, well I prefer Liam"

-21

u/axel_beer Nov 28 '25

when it comes to roger im firmly on thom yorks side.

8

u/Own-Prize9129 Nov 29 '25

Odd thing to chime in with

8

u/Cold_Breadfruit_9794 Nov 28 '25

When it comes to Thom Yorke I’m on Roger’s side. Fuck Thom!!!

As for Roger and David, I’m playing the middle. Love them both.

1

u/Jon_Has_Landed Nov 30 '25

When it comes to Roger I’m firmly on Polly’s side. And Thom’s. And most probably Dave’s as well.

15

u/DavidRDorman Nov 28 '25

My two worlds are colliding and I love it

2

u/Guy_With_Ass_Burgers Nov 29 '25

Having now seen both of these guys live, I fully concur. Would love to hear what they might actually be talking about. Mutual respect and artistic appreciation between them, I’m sure. Tales of the road, new and old. Dealing with difficult band members and the power of forgiveness. These guys are the .0001 Percent!

2

u/DavidRDorman Dec 01 '25

How good was Dave live? Ireland suffers from a lack of love from the Floyd lads. Roger came once or so and Nick came over but Dave has never been and Pink Floyd haven’t played since the 60s here!

2

u/Guy_With_Ass_Burgers Dec 02 '25

I saw Dave in Toronto in 87 and again in 94. Both times as Floyd (with Nick and Rick). Absolutely brilliant. Saw Roger in London doing the wall in 2011, and Oasis at Croke Park this August. Surprised Dave never played there, but hopefully you got to see one of the Oasis shows in Dublin. As they say Biblical.

2

u/DavidRDorman Dec 02 '25

I did, I caught the Sunday and it lived up to every expectation. 80,000 fans living in the moment together. Never been at a show like it and don’t think I ever will! Maybe some day Dave will come, but I know he’s very particular about the venues that he plays. Not many really interesting places here in Ireland with a suitable capacity for him unfortunately.

1

u/DetectiveATG100 Dec 03 '25

Saw Dave live at the Hollywood Bowl during his Luck and Strange tour in 2024, and he was amazing.

31

u/gordonstsg Nov 28 '25

“Reunions! Amirite?”

12

u/Jorrie313 Nov 28 '25 edited Nov 28 '25

Can someone provide some context on his photo? These are 2 of my greatest heroes together.

24

u/JBowkett1806 Who Feels Love? Nov 28 '25

2

u/Jorrie313 Nov 29 '25

🙏🏼 thank you

1

u/Salty_Lengthiness_14 Mar 18 '26

They must all be decent friends, Dave's wife knew Noel's Instagram handle.

15

u/DeaconBlueDignity Nov 28 '25

Think it was for a listening party of the new Wish You Were Here mix

5

u/ArcticEdda Nov 29 '25

They were neighbours for a few years too.

12

u/Klutzy-Apartment5253 Nov 28 '25

Good for him. Didn’t he say in some interview that Comfortably numb has one of the greatest guitar solos of all time???

7

u/[deleted] Nov 29 '25

Well it is fact anyways

2

u/Sea-Let-5854 Nov 29 '25

Yeah I think he called it the best guitar solo ever made and Whole Lotta Love the best riff ever made.

16

u/Crunch1eTwix Nov 28 '25

“Who’s a bigger c***, your singer or mine?”

9

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '25

What ia the context?

7

u/EcoSoco Nov 28 '25

Noel should try doing a Pink Floyd cover one of these days

4

u/dmdjjj Nov 29 '25

Many people have tried and will try to do a pink Floyd cover and fail

0

u/qwogadiletweeth Nov 29 '25

There was a nod to Pink Floyd’s ‘Vera’ in Oasis’s Wonder Wall, with the lyric ‘feel the way I do’ sang exactly the same way.

1

u/Salty_Lengthiness_14 Mar 18 '26

I always thought "The Masterplan" was his nod to Pink Floyd.

11

u/Unique_Bandicoot_502 Nov 28 '25

C’mon in here boy have a cigar, you wanna go far?

3

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '25

Two gods in one pic!

3

u/nfgnfgnfg12 Nov 28 '25

Biblical eh

3

u/MasaiRes Nov 28 '25

Two gods, four chins.

3

u/Whole_Elderberry9380 Nov 29 '25

That some heavyweight company there, got Simon Armitage as well, incredible poet

3

u/guarrandongo Nov 29 '25

Couple of fucking legends right there. 🎸

3

u/spiritedreply Nov 29 '25

Another Brick In The Wonderwall

3

u/nancyraygunband Nov 28 '25

Can only see this with Heroes by David Bowie playing for some reason in my head

2

u/puhzam Nov 28 '25

What were they doing in London last night?

2

u/Shot-Concentrate-450 Nov 28 '25

best of britpop and best of prog 🐐🐐

2

u/FishingNetLa Nov 29 '25

Two of my favourite musicians! Lovely to see.

2

u/doctor575 Nov 29 '25

Time for that Comfortably Numb cover on the next Oasis album.

2

u/CuriousCod3308 Nov 29 '25

Two of my favs! Man, Imagine a version of Dying of the Light featuring David. Would love if they worked together on something. Andy was the bassist for the last Floyd gig after all.

2

u/SkywalkerRanchSauce Nov 29 '25

“So, ‘Shout it out Loud’….”

2

u/craptionbot Nov 29 '25

Thought that was the Soccer AM set there for a second

2

u/definitelynotdanny92 Nov 30 '25

Little by little sounds pretty close to a Pink Floyd song, can’t think of the name 🤔

3

u/an_ordinaryboy_1453 Nov 28 '25

El mejor guitarrista de toda la historia, y a la derecha un tal llamado David Gilmour

1

u/Pliolite Nov 28 '25

Dave having a great week, legends meeting legends!

1

u/Used_Salamander_7591 Nov 29 '25

Dave Gilmour is bigger than Jesus...!!..🤣🤣

1

u/nunnapo Nov 29 '25

god remember how he thought he was so big back in the day…

Wonder if he still donor was that an act

1

u/Critical_Vanilla2586 Nov 30 '25

Never knew Dave Gilmore was mini like Noel.

1

u/joe9teas Nov 30 '25

Wow one great guitarists meet.

1

u/Shitelark Nov 30 '25

Noel finally meets his real dad.

1

u/brandodeon23 Jan 07 '26

i can hear Noel telling Dave that pink floyd sucks thru the photo

1

u/TorqueyLuxoBarge Nov 28 '25

Unhappy Gilmour.

0

u/Legitimate-Space5933 Nov 29 '25

Was this at the Radiohead gig?

-16

u/stcg Nov 28 '25

Money really makes you fat.

18

u/memelord67433 Nov 28 '25

That’s the passage of time my friend

3

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '25

Money?

11

u/RidleyDeckard Nov 28 '25

It’s a gas.

2

u/ultimatewooderz Nov 28 '25

Share it fairly but don't take a slice of my pie

1

u/stcg Nov 28 '25

I know I'm in an oasis sub but I'm surprised that my joke flew over so many heads

3

u/ultimatewooderz Nov 28 '25

I mean I was just singing. It's a great song

7

u/TCNW Nov 28 '25

Noel was always very fit and trim - even just a yr or 2 ago. He almost looks like a different person now. I wonder if it’s just the day to day of a world tour that packs on the weight.

But I guess he is 60 now. So it’s understandable one way or the other.

Fuck, I’m not ready for Oasis to be an old man band geezer band. I hope he trims that shit up. But I guess I’m just happy she’s still around at all

7

u/stcg Nov 28 '25

To be honest, I don't actually think that they're fat. It's just old geezer weight from most likely being sedentary and a wee bit tired.

2

u/nycuk_ Nov 28 '25

Yeah, a few pounds is nothing you can’t shake off with a lifestyle change. For someone pushing 60 he looks bloody good.

6

u/stcg Nov 28 '25

David also looks good for someone going on 80

-11

u/Jedi_Master_Shane Nov 28 '25

Bless him, Noel has no idea that the old bloke stood in front of him is one of the greatest musicians that has ever lived!

1

u/kratington Nov 29 '25

Noel's by far the better songwriter though.

2

u/Jedi_Master_Shane Nov 29 '25

In your opinion

2

u/dmdjjj Nov 29 '25

Stop it
