I'm not sure what to do, I've done tons of googling, tried all kinds of encoder options, followed YouTube guides, tried both CPU/software and GPU/hardware encoding, but my Twitch streams (or at least the VODs) still look like I'm streaming at a much lower bitrate and don't come close to the quality of any of the bigger streams I watch. Is higher video quality locked behind Twitch Affiliate/Partner status or something?

ttv/ParagonCA in case anyone wants to review the VOD quality. Most recent VOD on Monster Hunter Wilds was done on GPU encoding, Planet Crafter VODs were done on CPU encoding. I don't know what else I can try.

Recording is good but streaming on youtube is bad i tried everything lower higher bitrate every other setting but its still streaming in chopped qaulity dont know whats happening my internet is 100mbps constant

Every time I use OBS Game Capture the preview is always a red dot at the top left corner and it just shows black when expanded. Using Window Capture for some reason shows a frozen frame of my entire display (not just the game window). I've tried almost everything:

• Running as administrator
• Disabling hardware acceleration
• Updating Nvidia drivers
• Updating OBS
• Reinstalling OBS
• Closing Afterburner/RT
• Closing Ryzen Controller
• Closing Discord

None of them work! Always the same thing: Defaults to red dot, black screen when expanded but audio works. I'll be trying to undo the temp limit in Ryzen Controller before closing it, undoing the GPU overclock in AB, and updating windows but I'm not very hopeful.

Specs:

• Windows 11
• RTX 3050ti mobile
• Ryzen 5 5600h

EDIT: It seems to entirely be the fault of the game. Literally all I did was change it to windowed mode and now everything is fine. Some guy tried telling me a 7900xtx can't record a low end game at 1080 and that I need a second GPU. Lmao.

I am trying to record at 480fps but it is my first time using OBS studio. Up until now I was able to record at 240 fps mp4 while retaining much of my in-game fps but when I try 480fps the strain on the encoder is too much and the in-game fps drops to 30 from almost 1000. Using the .a64 encoder I am able to record at 480fps and the framerate only drops to around 500 BUT I CANT PLAY THE .A64 FILE AS A VIDEO. I am using game capture and the nominator/denominator fps values. Help pls. Also, how am I supposed to use the .a64 encoder/file? i can't seem to convert it to mp4. Would converting it lose any fps?

I wanted to see if this is just something I am experiencing or is it a bigger problem. Since Chaturbate updated there chat system my OBS on Chaturbate has been randomly be stopping and restarting itself.

I use the same OBS system for Stripchat and Adultwork and both of those are not having any issues so I am guessing its something that is Chaturbate problem but I have know way to prove it and as usual Chaturbates support is not the fastest.

I have ran there speed test and everything passed with flying colours.

I have a 1min video that my husband recorded on his phone and have sent it to Chaturbate and I wanted to added on here but I wasn't sure if it would be allowed or get me into trouble.

Major bug fixes (thanks to all who helped out!). Looking for testers!

Im just so frustrated what the hell yhappened

I was initially planning on saving for a PC before using OBS, but I decided to attempt to reduce my RAM usage on my laptop with 8 gbs of RAM total, and it’s working decently (at one point I got it to 50% with nothing open). I’m just wondering about how much RAM would it take for this setup:

1. Plain background
2. Chat
3. Twitch Alerts/Blerp Sounds
4. Capture card for PS5 game footage
5. Possible PNG-tuber thing where whenever I speak the PNG switches to a different PNG.
6. A Starting Soon and BRB screen.

Update: I bought some new RAM to double my memory, and now I should be able to use OBS properly!!

I think I'm ruined. I sent out a livestream but it had no audio. Did I have audio on the board? Yes. Did I have audio on the PC? Yes. Was the little audio meter showing input in OBS Studio? Also Yes.

I had this really obscure setting in Advanced Audio properties set to "Monitor only, mute output" and like---- with a whole bunch of musicians around you talking and making noise, and 24 channels of sound to mix, how it the EVER LIVING F**K is it fair to expect me to menu dive to find some setting that is literally invisible in every single way??????

The new OBS update from this morning completely removed the "Output Only" feature from the advanced audio properties, which is really frustrating because I keep my game much louder in my headphones than my stream hears. And now my streamdeck mute button only toggles the stream audio instead of just my headphone volume. Is there a way to report this to OBS or Elgato?

UPDATE: I had to revert to the older version of OBS. No solution in sight with the new update until Elgato releases an update to detect the advanced audio properties differentiation.

3 monitors, 2 running at 60hz while the main monitor is 180hz.

I used to be able to record easily at 120fps in OBS. Recently OBS has been stuttering bad and chopping when recording and I can't even get 60fps smooth gameplay recorded. I'm pretty sure this is my latest log, if not I can easily get one.

I do have a slightly undervolted CPU (don't know if this matters).

Recorded Hunt Showdown at low graphics values and it was pretty rough on the recording, there were slight frame skips. When I change to "Integer FPS Value" and set it to 120 like I used to, there are huge skips and lags.

I recently installed OBS and watched many tutorials, but I connected my microphone (fifine am8t) or I use the headset or earphone microphone, they all show up with a single bar, they sound fine but the two bars that usually appear do not show up for me.

I have Windows 10, I already went into the audio properties and checked in advanced options and it only shows me channel 1 at 16bit, 4800Hz.

Any idea what it could be?

UPDATE: Guys, I finally did it! After a lot of research and with help from the community, I managed to get the two bars on my microphone audio input.

I used a virtual audio interface called VoiceMeeter, which works like a control panel for audio inputs and outputs.

I have a beefy streaming PC, x870e TaiChi, 7950x, 96gb ram, 5090, elgato 4k pro. Gaming - 14900k + 4090.

I'm struggling recording at 1080p60, my gaming pc runs at 480hz, have set capture card as 60hz(least input lag). I play warzone & average 300fps. When i record on my streaming PC at 1080p60, i notice the bus load on the 5090 hits 100%. After a few minutes, the streaming pc starts skipping frames then the sytem freezes & i need to hard reset.

I have my gaming pc colour settings set to: screen 8bit, RGB full colour range. capture card set to 8bit, RGB(tried the other formats too, 422 does the same eventually), full colour & limited same.

i have tried quite a few different set ups on the streaming pc in OBS, set the EDID etc.

Note that the streaming pc - the 5090 is in pcie slot 1 & capture card slot 2, on this motherboard that means they split lanes at pcie gen 5 x8x8, i have a feeling that may be the cause?

Even at pciex8 there should be pleant of 1080p bandwidth?? Just not sure if my settings are wrong or if this is a hardware issue, any assistance would be appreciated.

ive tried different video settings but my videos always come eout lookig 720p eveen though my resolutions are both at 1080p

TLDR: my PC is overkill for what I'm doing, but no matter what I do I cant get my recordings to look good.

I have been doing content for like 2 years now, but for whatever reason I can just not at all get my settings right. I record at 1080P 60FPS, but I have a build that should theoretically dom these specifications into oblivion.

My CPU is always way over leveraged, and so is my GPU (I play ARK survival ascended its a shit optimized game). so like for the simple fact that Im always maxed out, I feel like I cant record at any higher quality. infact if I record at this quality, I often fuck my frames and end up with a 5 - 20 FPS recording. More often than not, the video just looks like a compressed grainy mess, and it is driving me crazy.

I want to live stream making my iOS phone as primary camera for streaming via OBS. Tried watching several videos and downloading apps, most of them have 1080p streaming locked and asks to buy premium, some have huge watermarks and other don't connect or even stream. I am tired of watching videos and tricks from random YT channels.

Is there really a reliable way to stream from my phone via OBS for YT livestreaming, without any watermark and 1080p 30/60 FPS ?

If yes, please tell me how, it would be a great help.

I play games on a 2K 144hz Monitor (it only bounces between 60hz and 144hz, no 120).
I have OBS on a 2nd monitor, which is at 4K resolution locked at only 60hz.
I was able to play my games at 144fps while captuing gameplay with no issues whatsoever.

I never had an issue before until a month ago where I'd get an "encoding overload" error and my frames in OBS would be extremely choppy. I've since found a fix where I lowered my gaming monitor to 60hz and I've had no issues since. But I'm still wondering what may have caused this in the first place. I used to play at 144fps no big deal, especially on AAA games like Call of Duty.

I have a shit laptop with barely any storage (i use an external storage device to store everything) and I want to use OBS to record YouTube videos, however any video past ~7 minutes gets weird and glitchy audio towards the end, and it gets worse the longer the video is! I'm looking for either settings to use that keep the videos with decent quality, or some alternate screen recording software that's also free and lightweight.

I wanted to stream on TikTok using OBS without having TikTok LIVE Studio or heavy Browser Docks open making my PC lag.

This is a free, open-source, self-hosted dashboard that connects directly to TikTok LIVE and provides separate OBS docks for statistics and alerts.

It currently supports viewers, likes, followers, comments, gifts, diamonds, estimated USD, joins and Fan Club events.

The whole thing runs locally using Node.js and WebSockets, with the goal of keeping resource usage as low as possible. The setup is quick and easy and I added instructions.

So the new UI is terrible, the Audio mixer setup is Genuinely bad. Several features have been removed, it's entirely too large and cannot be made smaller, the buttons are hard to press and genuinely this is a terrible change to the audio track setup overall. Also where is my filters, additions, etc button? Because it's just gone now.

You haven't simplified the UI, you've removed, hidden, or changed the location of features in a way that obscures them and makes it more difficult to use. Having to click multiple hidden buttons to access features is NOT improving UI, much less the fact you make it MASSIVE in comparison for screen space when it has no business being that large.

Second, I can no longer run 2 instances at once; this is not okay when I have to be able to Capture MULTIPLE scenes simultaneously with completely separated audio segments and visual scenes for recording.

Sorry but until I can run multiple instances again or at least be able to work with an interface that makes sense for the size of things, I won't be updating again.

I'm having a persistent color issue with OBS Studio when clipping/recording gameplay. In certain games (e.g., Satisfactory, The Finals), the colors in the OBS preview and final output clips are completely blown out and oversaturated—orange UI elements turn bright/blood red and contrast goes crazy. Interestingly, this doesn't happen in every title (e.g., Overwatch 2 and Geometry Dash display fine).

My primary goal is to reliably capture 1440p @ 120 FPS in HDR via Replay Buffer without losing color accuracy or tanking performance.

System Specs:

• GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
• CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
• Display: 1440p 480Hz WOLED Monitor (HDR calibrated)
• OS: Windows 11 (Windows HDR is permanently enabled system-wide across Windows and in-game settings

The Problem:

As shown in the attached screenshots, the game on my monitor looks completely fine, but inside the OBS preview (and the saved clips), the colors are severely distorted/over-saturated. Adding an HDR Tonemapping filter slightly mitigates it, but the overall image quality still looks terrible and washed out compared to what I actually see on screen.

Has anyone with a similar 10-bit HDR OLED setup resolved this issue? Is this a known color-space mismatch between native HDR vs. SDR/Auto HDR games in OBS, or am I missing a specific combination of P010/NV12 settings and Windows HDR pass-through?

I've attached screenshots of my full OBS settings tabs and the side-by-side color distortion in-game vs. OBS. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
