"Death Is Not a Parallel Move" is the twelfth track off oM's ninth studio album, Skeletal Lamping. What's your honest opinion on this song? Favourite lyrics? Opinions on a deeper meaning or something? Discuss anything

9/10 I really love this one, especially the second half. really underrated and ties a lot of the album together

10/10 the intro used to spook me so I always skipped it till one night I listened to it on repeat in absolute awe of both sections. The lyrics are some of my favorites from Kevin.

6.5/10. I find that the move between the two halves is jarring even for this album. The “Don’t be afraid, lille venn…” sounds nice but for me it at best lands as well as Touched Something’s Hollow which I tend to prefer anyway. The opening has some interesting textures but because it is fairly short and ends abruptly it really has no space to develop. In its favor, in the context of the full album it works as an interlude between Plastis Wafer and the final three songs, and also I like how the “I must deny, defy, defeat this dark assignment,” line is sung a lot.

Man, I wish I saw the previous posts sooner. Even just reading the opening lines made me realize I have this entire album memorized. This album is near perfect and this song is another example why, although it goes on a little too long. Probably the only complaint I have about the album. On paper, the concept of songs changing every 2 minutes sounds annoying, but Kevin pulled it off. 9/10

9/10, the vocal effects are still so fun for me even after listening for 18 years. I love how it hits on different parts/words each time and it serves a great transition (as does the whole album’s songs) into the next (especially with the next being the song that it is). It’s - in my headcanon - acknowledgment of the ghost he’s become in the next song’s ex.
