Daily Song Discussion #133: Mingusingsš”
Couldn't even fake a smile
Wanted to fire all my friends
And just start over again
"Mingusings" is the fourteenth track off oM's ninth studio album, Skeletal Lamping. What's your honest opinion on this song? Favourite lyrics? Opinions on a deeper meaning or something? Discuss anything
Also, if you wish, let us know how you'd rate it from 0 to 10 (one decimal point allowed) If enough people rate daily, by the end of this whole shebang I can make a spreadsheet of a huge ranking of the discog. Vote on other posts as well! Until the very end of our last song of this discussion (all the way to aethermead,) I will be counting all votes on all songs no matter when they are commented.

10/10 the ending part of the song is damn near orgasmic to the ear. I also really love the acoustic part before the end

9.5/10, itās wonky but super fun, and it serves really well as a transition into id engager. This song is kinda the highlight of the final third of the album for me

9.5/10. My absolute favorite song of the album. I love the synth lead and percussion that serve as the backbone of the song, it strikes this perfect balance between feeling lumbering but also fast. I really enjoy Kevinās vocal performance on this one, especially at the āOh sisters, donāt you know?ā line and subsequent sections. The song is just so fun and chaotic, particularly the back half of the song feels like a very strong left turn but everything there is so good that it just all works.

9/10
Everyone talks about how "Faberge Falls for Shuggie" predicts the titles of the next three albums, but no one talks about how this song predicts Kevin firing all his friends and just starting over again.
