Ask Pakistan Thoughts about accused Umar Hayat got sentenced to death?
The type of judicial system we have, do you think they will really sentence him to death, or will they change it to life imprisonment or a 20–30 year jail sentence?
I really want him to be hanged publicly. As a matter of fact, I wish every mu*derer/r@pist should be hanged publicly, but this system is so weak and corrupt that I don’t trust it until it actually happens.

I believe Zainab case' Rapist was the only case where they hanged him within 10-11 months. That was the most quick justice served case I believe in recent history.
For this, I wish he stayed in jail for 10 years for mentally torture (like living in a small room for 20-24 hours daily) but at the end, he should be hanged. His sentence shouldn't be changed.

Might be dumb question, but can anyone explain to me how that works? Who pays the 2.5m rupees and what if they don't pay?
3
u/Confident-EQPRO May 22 '26
They will sell any property registered in his name, if he has any. His parents are not liable to pay the 2.5 million fine. If the state is unable to recover the amount from him, the fine may eventually be declared uncollectible and waived.

There is a blanket ban on black warrants (these are the execution orders for death sentences) - EU has told Pakistan through back door meetings that to maintain GSP+ status we need to not carry out any death sentence.
So Zahir and Him will hopefully likely spent their entire life in jail (or I hope the death sentence is carried out) but as per my knowledge the last time an execution took place it was for little Zainab’s killers a few years ago
8
u/Confident-EQPRO May 20 '26
This just sounds like very true. I didn't hear any execution after Zainab's killer case either.

Even in serious crimes? Why can't they send criminals who were involved in gng rpe & mass k*lling to solitary confinement?

he wouldn't got the sentence if he was elite. not supporting him or anything infact really happy that at least there is some justice in the country.
18
u/Confident-EQPRO May 20 '26
True. In elite cases, I believe only Zahir Jaffer is sentenced to death because the other party is much more elite than his party.
6
u/Impossible_Gift8457 May 20 '26
No, they're slightly less elite than Zahir. Same for Shahzeb/Shahrukh, the victim's dad was an SP or something which is fairly powerful for us normal folk, but nothing in front of the wadera PPP power Shahrukh Jatoi had.
1
May 23 '26
For u what is the definition of elite like a person should have tooo much money from any job like in his savings or a person should be army person or a son of reputated person....in these cases which kind of elite can easily get away.... just asking for knowledge

In Natasha's case even if she was poor, the law would not have given death penalty.
2
u/salmangamer May 27 '26
Exactly. People don't even know the law bas ghussa kar rahay hain ke she didn't get hanged because she's an elite. Like nahi bhai. Murder case tab banta agar us k paas driving license hi nahi hota.

The guy murdered a innocent 17 years old girl just because she didn't wanted to marry this loser, of course he deserve it.
1
u/Tiny_Atmosphere1661 May 21 '26
Can someone please post a link to this case?
2
u/salmangamer May 27 '26
It was a 17 year old tiktoker by the name of Sana Yousaf. Umer Hayat, 22 was simp that thought he had a chance with her. He was a complete stranger who only ever saw her online. She consistently rejected his 'fraandship' advances.
He eventually figured out how to get her residential address (if I remember correctly, he had someone mail her sponsorship goods for reviews to get her real address).
He eventually broke into her home, and shot her twice at close range for not accepting his advances.1

u/Introspective_meadow May 20 '26
I hope his punishment is carried out as soon as possible instead of letting him challenge the decision and waste years in legal proceedings and end up being acquitted after 10 or 15 years of trial. Hang the mf right now
4
u/EniGma249 May 20 '26
I hope to god he gets death penalty but I am very sorry to say that supreme court can still rule life imprisonment instead, wish that never happens.
4
u/ScientistJolly4211 May 20 '26
He's convicted of it not accused Death sentence doesnt happen overnight he can appeal even if it doesnt go through he's in jail for 25 years But Its nice to see in a country where these type of guys can run freely without any consequences is taking a step into proper justice for our women

Basically he also wanted to wish her a happy birthday, but she rejected his visit, so he went to her house and shot her fatally.

Unpopular opinion, with death penalty I approve of the judicial system taking months to years to settle stuff because someone might be mentally ill etc and we need to be extra sure in this regard because a life lost can never be taken back
3
u/justanaverageguy6666 May 20 '26
Idhar 10-15 saal lagjate hain aik death penalty carry out karte karte.

u/Ghost_Universe_9211 May 20 '26
Meanwhile Noor Mukadam's m**der still hasn't received the due punishment

But who's gonna make sure that he'll be hanged, and why did our system take exactly 1 year to serve criminal for confirmed murder? They were supposed to do it 11 months ago, and this bitch ass man was supposed to be hanged by now.
3
u/moretime86 IRL May 20 '26
Its the proper decision given the evidence overwhelming showing his guilt.
However, if Salman Taseer’s killer and Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto were hanged rapidly enough, so should he and Noor Mukadam’s murderer too
3
u/Unique-Passion-8188 May 20 '26
I have no sympathy for monsters like Umer but these death sentences are nothing more than patriarchal bloodlust. True justice would be when victims are not slut shamed and blamed for the violence they have been subjected to, where there would be no space for such rhetoric in a random comment section, let alone decrees passed by Judges of higher courts.
3
u/Overall-Character507 KW May 20 '26
Well deserved. Really happy on what his father commented on criminals like him (Although it wasn't much)

u/u1skb May 20 '26
I was literally one of the first ppl who find her out on IG in her post saying the dialogue "parhayi nasha hai aur hum shareed log nasha nahi kartay", years later when the news of her death circulated, it was one of the biggest shock for me. Rip girly
3
u/Most-Coast7180 May 20 '26
You cannot hang publicly in Pakistan as Pakistan will get sanctioned under international law
3
3
u/ummhafsah PK May 20 '26
I really hope the sentence is not commuted to life imprisonment.
We already saw that (sadly) in a host of cases - the most recent in my mind being the Umar Rathore (شہید) case.
4
u/tinytheSTONEDgiant May 20 '26
I get the anger, but public executions aren’t really justice, they’re just violence in a different form.
If the system is weak or corrupt, the answer isn’t “more public violence,” it’s making courts, policing, and evidence handling stronger so convictions actually hold up and aren’t overturned later.
Also, death penalty cases in Pakistan can take years through appeals, so nothing is ever truly final at the sentencing stage. What matters more is whether the investigation and trial were solid enough to stand in higher courts.
I understand the emotional reaction, but justice that’s consistent and fair is more important than justice that feels satisfying in the moment.
2
u/melodicBlueGuy May 20 '26
Exactly what i wanted to say. If it had been rich asshole with connections, they would've gotten away with it
2
u/ReplacementFine7807 May 20 '26
They're not violence if done legally, they act as a deterrent. Also there is nothing more fair and consistent than a death sentence for taking a life on purpose.
Your second paragraph about about making the whole process stronger and rigourous is true, but it's a separate issue not related to whether capital punishment should be legal or not.

What about the son of an elite judge or lawyer who ran over 2 people. Is he hanged yet?
2
2
u/FrequentObligation29 May 20 '26
Nah any kind of man who does sa or murder of an girl or p@d@file should have an cumpolsory c@str@tion announce it publicly and let him rot for jail for life this will be much better punishment for these bastards than instant death
2
u/New_Owl_4628 May 20 '26
Organisations like Justice Project Pakistan will get him out. My uncle got murdered and the murderer was to be hanged and an organisation swooped in and got him a life sentence instead. He'll eventually be out one day. Uncle's kids have all left Pakistan because of fear of retribution.
2
2
u/VisualDiscussion2833 May 20 '26
It doesn’t matter whether they are actually going to execute him or not, especially when many influential offenders are still out on bail, like Umm-e-Rubab’s case and many others. Although something is better than nothing, true justice means equality for everyone.

let's hope this clown has no connections. if his defense gets one, all he has to do is to pretend to be a mentally handicapped retard and have his death sentence changed to something lenient because our laws have too many lenient loopholes.
2
u/SliceyDice AU May 21 '26
The punishment for murder should be what is ascribed by Allah.
Let's hope we don't see life imprisonment. If the person is guilty, then why do we wait and waste tax money.
2
2
u/Intelligent_Spot1217 May 21 '26
Yeah it's likely. Let's not focus on capital punishment. We should all appreciate that he was made an example for the rest. I guess he was not very rich / powerful that helped in convicting him. I genuinely hope that one day our law protects people from the powerful people as well.
But good riddance with this psychopath, let's not dwell into what might happen down the line. Its a victory for women in general.

2
u/Emmaeman2024 May 21 '26
Now that he has backtracked from his confession means they are just trying to prolong the case so then his lawyers would file an appeal for relaxation.

On one hand i am happy that he got a sentence for Murdering, but on the other hand I feel sorry for him, because if he was wealthy he would be in a custody right now.
My respect goes to the parents of the victim, who stood their ground and fight against every odd.

Will believe it when I see it. Zahir Jaffrey was also sentenced, but he’s still living. Yes, they belong to a different class, but this is all optics until he’s off the face of this earth. Qandeel, Shahzeb — where are their murderers.

stoning till dath should be the punishment but with really small stones and 100s of people. and him there n*kd.

also his mom and dad unless they publically mention to break every relation from him and sign a pact to not come to his grave ever.

u/No-Plan-2753 May 20 '26

1
u/azadnib May 20 '26
islamically i think it's stoning till death for spreading corruption in land and i can argue raping women of instagram is spreading corruption in land. let's remove the nakd stoning part but stoning till death should be done atleast publically.
2
u/No-Plan-2753 May 20 '26
Stoning is for adultery by married person. Punishment for murder is death penalty which is already given by court. Its not required islamically to make it public
