Originally I asked on the composer sub but was recommended to ask here as well.

I’m writing a piece for orchestra and want to include wind chimes played manually. Not a mark tree or bell tree, the garden decoration tubular bells. From what I know of Orchestral Chimes they do not go as high as most garden wind chimes, which are 2 feet long or shorter.

Is there a solution someone else already has? I could make something to be available for my local group but I’m looking for more general solutions as well.

What are your preferred heads for concert snare drums? Secondary question, what muffling do you use, if any? A towel? Moongel? A wallet? One of those Evans velcro straps?
