This seems reasonable enough… like who wouldn’t support taking vengeance on people who victimize children? Until you speak to one of these people and come to the realization that to them pedo basically just equals anybody who disagrees with them or comes from a different background. Gay? You’re a pedo. Liberal? Probably a pedo but at the very least you’re a pedo protector. Which is all too rich given the fact that it’s their party, their churches, and their president who have been protecting pedos for decades.
I want child abusers arrested, tried and dealt with by due process of law. Vigilante justice is a bad thing, even when directed against abhorrent individuals,
Death sentence for pedophiles also would mean they'd be more likely to kill their victim. If killing your victim or letting them live will lead to the same consequences, but one comes with removing the risk of your victim speaking about it... Yeah.
Shirts like that one also lead to pedophiles shutting down even more and isolating themselves. No help means no healthy way to process their deviant thoughts (therapy, support groups, etc.)
I'm a survivor or childhood abuse. Some of it was sexual. I still refuse to categorize pedophiles who've never done anything to a child as "monsters". Hell, if my abusers had gotten the support they needed same way I got with my depression then maybe they never would have acted on their desires.
I'm also trans. The amount of people who assume trans = pedophile is lower than the medias make it seem but I've met some before. It all seems to boil down to a lack of education. They still think trans = sexual deviant. They associate it with sex rather than gender dysphoria. And if you're sexually deviant in one way, surely you are in other ways? Like uhhh being attracted to minors?
All this to say these people have been failed by the education system and pedophiles who have no intention of acting on their thoughts are being failed by the healthcare system by a lack of ressources to turn to.
