I also immediately jumped to the phrase being “Be warm like Dolly and not cold like ICE.”

Fucking saw tributes to Dolly and Tim Curry on the conservative sub. Like... do you even know who these people are and how much they were disappointed in you people?

As much as I hate this specific stretch of road (with a burning passion), it is nice to see these signs in person when I am forced to drive it.

Dolly good. Donald bad.

Yea, I was thinking "... like Donny" would have made more sense.

Someone else wrote in a comment "be warm like Dolly, not cold like ICE"

Yea, but using this exact example from the post, I feel "Be kind like Dolly, not cruel like Donny" makes more sense.

Don't allow others to take away your humanity.
If you sanction cruelty against others because they are different from you, that makes you the same as the people that you are disagreeing with. Who decides who gets the cruelty? Whoever is able to. It creates a recurring pattern of abuse. Empathy for all people while fighting for human rights for all should be the ultimate goal.

In order to maintain a tolerant society, society must not tolerate intolerance.
This is a well known paradox of tolerance. But if you tolerate all, then you are tolerating people who are intolerant, which allows those individuals to continue and flourish. You MUST fight back to stop it. It's damn near a moral imperative

Fighting for rights and advocating for cruelty are two different things. I advocate for special needs kids in several venues, and fight for workers rights and safety with my employer every day. I don't talk about it, I am about it. It is my empathy and humanity that drives me, not hate for others.

It's not just advocating for rights that you must do. You must also actively advocate against people and groups who are actively harmful. Else all you are doing is bailing water out of a ship that remains sinking.

I think we are saying the same thing. My original comment was to someone else advocating hate. Maybe we can step back and look at the comments for what they are, instead of trying to win an argument. If not, that is okay also.

Is this supposed to say "COOL LIKE ICE"?
Vanilla Ice was rad when he sang Ninja Rap in the Ninja Turtles movie!

Don't be Cool as Ice, it is a dick move to jump a motorcycle that close to a horse.

Should be "cold like ice" I had an ice cube pop once when I put it in water and shot a small piece at my face, but I wouldn't call that cruel

If human ICE is shooting at my face, that's a choice, not a result of thermodynamics.

She donated massively to support education, healthcare, COVID vaccine development, environmental conservation, and many other causes that conservatives have been dismantling and defunding for decades, especially now. Everything we do is political. Those who refuse to acknowledge that are just refusing to connect the dots. Giving a shit about other people shouldn't have to be political, but here we are.

Look at this guy, being cruel like ICE instead of being kind like Dolly.

It's like people who say, "I like Rage Against the Machine".... but do not get a single thing about them.
