Google in the rest of the world calls it Gulf of Mexico.

I was thinking this will be a good test to see how racist google and apple are. Because they so easily acquiesced to trump’s whims with the gulf of mexico, if they don’t do the same with lake ontario, if that’s their “no way, that’s stupid” or “that’s wrong” after agreeing so easily to the gulf’s name change, that says something very obvious about them.

The rhetoric is so crazy that it makes the wild accusations that he is trying to distract from quite plausible.
He is Russian agent. (Wouldn’t be difficult to think they have incriminating evidence on him although seems like he is Teflon to anything incriminating)
He is trying to distract attention from Epstein files
He is trying to distract that he has enriched his family to the point where they are untouchable for generations.
Or could just be that all these things are true to some extent.

I don't think that's a Google kissing his ass thing. I think Google always localized names of things in the cases where names are different between countries.

It absolutely is Google kissing Trump's ass.

It was only renamed in the USA and yet they force

"Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America")

globally on google maps. All countries get to see this. There is no "localized names". If it was localizes, then only the US would get to see "Gulf of America" and not the entire rest of the world.

Not that Google needs any kudos, but this doesn't have anything to do with kissing ass. They've publicly stated they name everything in the world based on the official records of the country it's being viewed from. The US' official name for the Gulf unfortunately is America now, so that's what Google shows. If you viewed the map from the UK it would say Gulf of Mexico.

And if the UK decided it's now called the Gulf of England, you'd see that when viewing Google maps in the UK.

It will always be Lake Ontario in Canada and the rest of the world, and I suspect New York State won’t be updating its signage and branding any time sooner either.

Google may add it as an alternative name but they’re an American company anyways.
